I love what you stated at 1:30 through 1:50. Like you said you can’t really compare the 2 sleds and it will be super nice to have a sled to rip around through the trees and a sled where you can just have so much fun playing around with it in the open. Thank you for saying this. Amazing content, keep it up!
Operating equipment up in the Arctic and living vicariously through your videos. Lots of sleds up here, but I’m missing the mountains back home. Really appreciate the uploads.
Love the 9r “Build”. Wrap looks sweet, breaking it in right…hardly a single long wot pull…looking forward to more content with it. Polaris seemed much more planted and predictable.
Waite till this thing is out of break in mode.. it might be a beast. And make sure your in the non ethanol mode too. Most dealerships sell them in ethanol mode which de tunes it a bit.
The 9R looks sweet!!! The sled looks really narrow from your point of view, kinda miss that turbo sound from you Matt, been getting really use to that sound. Keep it up Matt!
At the dealers they all use a lift with fork extension without any protection on these steel extensions they had bent the exhaust pipe at 75% restriction the underside of a sled is not straight as a straight edge
Mid and rear suspension changes affect the Polaris's front end quite a bit. If you have compression dials Hard in the front and soft in the rear will decrease ski pressure, hard in the rear soft in the front will increase ski pressure.
I rode a G5 turbo R yesterday and I was absolutely blown away by the seamless power and throttle response. Now I realize why I have seen them forsale with no miles. People do not realize the power they have. Definitely Definitely a sled for the experienced rider. I ride an 850 polaris with bikeman stage 2 and it's a weapon also. The doo had me vocal in the helmet. Hahah. What a rush.
Yeah, I have a decent (albeit slightly forgotten, it's been a while since I've done any riding) knowledge base and I can't imagine someone with no idea how snowmobiles work trying to figure them out on that sled. It's absolutely crazy how hard it pulls.
I’ve been a Polaris guy all my life, so love to see it again! But hoping it stays together. Seen a lot of posts of 9R’s seizing the center crank bearing…
I hope the 9R holds up. Read a lot of negativity about Poo. 9R prob my next spring order. Or selling everything and just renting for now since we basically only go west at this point.
Doo queens over exaggerate Polaris' failure rate and turn a blind eye when the BRP goes down. Always keep that in mind. Buy what you like and ride that bitch like you stole it - any of the 3 will serve you well.👍
Here is something I learned watching nearly every video you have produced... when you are laughing you are having a blast and when you are talking a lot as you ride you are having fun. It just seems like you cant wait to park this 9R and get back on your Ski Doo. I hope you have a minute to comment about my observations... I try not to bash the competition but it seems obvious you aren't having much fun on this thing.
The ski pressure you refer to is probably due to the rear suspension, the Poo has a coil rear shock so it does a better job pushing on the rear of the skid, the doo has the torsion with pushes down on center of the skid. The doo will be a better big hit sled but the poo will track a little better as you notice. Could do a coil over rear suspension on the expert and they will probably feel more similar besides one being lighter and one having more power. Also I like the wrap on the Poo better, wasnt a fan of the Grey in the doo wrap.. the almost blue chrome on the black is really stand out. Also I'd have a day dropping those cliffs, my favorite is the gut lifting feeling falling from the sky. I said on one of your videos before about ditching weight. When we find a general play spot I always drop my tunnel bag, that packout set up must be heavy too.
I’ve been checking your page all morning hoping for a video and it’s here! 🎉 love the new sled! Because of you I’ve gone to a finger throttle and it’s been the best mod I’ve ever done, no more sore thumb and better grip!
I'm really contemplating this for my Khaos. I'm a mountain biker/snowboarder just getting into sleds and I don't understand how you guys can just NOT HOLD THE BARS...I mean I get that it's mostly body position and footwork and not hands, but shit. As soon as things go sideways I've got no right hand!
@@-tr0n what I’ve found is guys that grew up snowmobiling are resistant to change more than guys just starting out. Finger throttle makes a lot of sense to guys coming in from bikes. Also way less hand fatigue on the trails as I can switch fingers. Thumb throttles always felt weird to me.
I also had first day on new Poo yesterday. Kind of alarming vibrations and rattles and noises all over the place but it’s a precision rocket. Agree with you on DH knee position-super awkward compared to Cats or Doos. I’m making contact pads to brace off.
Nice sled, in the video the turbo sounds and looks like it has more power and goes better. Idk hard to tell. Idk if I could go back to nonturbo if I did that kinda riding

I haven’t adjusted my track shocks yet
@@MuskokaFreerider glad to see you got your 9R it’s lookin Sik. I know in another post you said u haven’t adjusted your suspension yet and it’s a total preference thing but it would be awesome to see you take a cpl minutes and show everyone what settings you ended up with clicker and preload wise. Like I said everybody is different and I bet I change mine a half dozen times a day in different conditions. Thanks for making the vids u rock. Squamish BC 🍻
