I have a LX3310 Cab kubota tractor and I had the dealer put the spacers on. Glad I did. I also have a ballast box and my tires are loaded. I tipped a new holland tractor with no spacers. I bought a L3240 kubota that I almost tipped and I ended up going back to the dealer and had a curtis cab put on along with the wheel spacers. Wheel spacers work. Better to be safe than sorry. Nice video by the way.
Sam, another great video! I put the Bro-Tek spacers on my BX2680 within months of getting it in 2019. It made a huge difference with the uneven terrain. I also use wheel weights, and with the loader, suitcase weights on the back. With the spacers and proper ballasting, you can do a lot of work with the BX! Thanks for all the great content!
I can tell you that my box blade with 4 of the 42 pound suitcase weights on the cross rails still isn't enough when I use the pallet forks. I ordered a ballast box for my BX2680.
Have a set of these in my BX23S and it made a huge difference. As well it makes it way better when you’re running chains in the winter. Thanks for the video Sam. Cheers, Mike.
I've never used chains but to another point, the only time I don't recommend ballast is when plowing. I want as much weight as possible on the front tires for steering 🤠👍
That's what she said 😆😆 I have spacers, 72lb cast iron weights, and fluid filled tires on my JD1025. It rides so much better with all 3 than it did stock. 👍👍
Absolutely! I remember the very 1st day I operated my BX. I tried to lift the end of a small dead ash tree and the tractor had a surprising amount of strength but the rear end was ready to come right off the ground. That was way before I knew about ballast 🤠👍
I put spacers on after adding a canopy that I got from my dealer and was heavy enough it made my bx more unstable because the center of gravity changed, the 1.5" spacers made a world of difference! Stay safe and have fun!
Great video, Sam. Again. Thanks for stressing the importance of counterweight on a tractor. The combination of counterweight and wheel spacers really makes a sub compact tractor much safer. The only thing is for all of us to remember is to not let it give you a false sense of security, alway be aware of the tractors' limitations and the terrain.
You make a great point about the tractors' limitations. It's a sub-compact. It does an awful lot for such a small machine but there is a safe range to operate it 🤠👍
Good morning Sam! That was a nice quick easy install. The wheel spacers are a great safety feature as long as you respect the rear ballast as you mentioned. Stay safe!
great video. I get the spacing part but the part that confused me is the distribution of weight relying on the wheel studs. while the wheel the hub is connected to spacer with the 5 or six lugs, the entire load is back on the two wheel studs.
GoodMorning Sam, just a word on safety, You should only use sockets made for impacts, regular sockets can come apart while using an impact. Great video though!
I don't have spacers on my BX2680, but thinking about picking up a set. I ordered a ballast box the other day, its supposed to be here tomorrow. The roto-tiller and the box blade aren't heavy enough to really work as proper ballast when using the loader....more of an issue with the pallet forks.....when I pickup the pallet that my roto-tiller is stored on, I add 4 of the 42 pound suitcase weights to the cross bars on the box blade, and even that its still a bit sketch when the tractor hits a bump. There have been several times where I'd had to just drop the loader to the ground to keep from tipping over....so wheel spacers and the ballast box are kind of a must I think.
I have 500 lbs of ballast on my 2380 almost all of the time. I also add tools, chains, straps, etc, so it probably ends up close to 600 lbs. That's the only way I'll do any serious lifting with my loader. The spacers really made a big difference. I am very impressed 🤠👍
I put 2” on the rear and 1.5 on the front. You have to reset your wheel stops if you’re running a mowing deck. sorry I’m not going cheap when it comes to my Safty. I bought wheel spacers from bro-tec that are made for the tractor from billet aluminum not cast. They are worth every penny!!
I really like what they've done for the stability of the tractor. I have a 60" mowing deck and they don't interfere with it at all. The ones I bought have a good reputation. I hope I don't have any issues 🤠👍
Thanks for the video. How have the held up? I need spacers bad on my bx2680. Going with 2”. These or brotex. Not sure if the brotex is worth the price. Never used spacers on anything but it’s a must on my little Bx. A spacer is a spacer or no??
@jew0182 Thank you! Glad you liked it. They've held up well so far. I highly recommend spacers no matter what brand you choose. I can't believe the difference. 🤠👍
I can’t find you the link that shows the actual part number that you ordered. Could you please provide that? thank you. Is 2 inches the widest you can go if you have a mid mounted belly mower?
I have a 60" mid mount mower and 2" spacers is about as wide as I'd feel comfortable with. Here's the link: EZAccessory 2 Wheel Adapters... www.amazon.com/dp/B009AEOFAS?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
You'd be surprised. It's only 4 inches. I have a narrow concrete ramp between work areas and I still squeezed through. She's still pretty nimble and a whole lot more stable 🤠👍
Great question. I have a 60" deck but I bought a zero turn so I haven't needed to put the deck back on yet. When I do, I'll be sure to do a video on it. Thanks for the idea 🤠👍
Ive got the r14 tires and have the 54" belly mower deck. My measurements basically show 1" spacer and that still may rub on the deck wheels. I havent done anything yet but ill probably go with 1.5" and just not use the mower deck or modify the deck wheels @samsdoinstuff
I just went through a week of controversy in a BX facebook forum, asking people to PROVE 2" spacers make any difference. I got a lot of flack from people saying "it feels more stable". But to me, considering physics, I DO NOT believe the actual tip angle is significantly different. On flat ground, maybe people believe the BX rides better, but slopes are the real issue.
I'm on that same Facebook group. I keep saying it. No matter how wide of spacers you use, if you don't have proper ballast and the rear end comes off the ground, spacers don't do anything. I was surprised at what effect they did have, BUT I always use proper ballast. Ballast is way more important 🤠👍
If they did that, they couldn't sell them. Kubota does offer them as an option when you build your tractor, but many people don't want them or need them. OEM spacers are more expensive of course 🤠👍
The way you pulled those tires off leads me to believe you do not have liquid ballast in your tires. Why not? My dealership highly recommended it and dissuaded me from installing spacers. I see lots of RUclipsrs installing spacers, but also hear Kubota dealerships saying it’s not good for the tractor.
I would like to fill my tires at some point but I have about 500-600 lbs of ballast on the back which is plenty. I feel pretty confident the spacers won't cause any issues because Kubota offers them as an option. I don't think they would sell something that would damage their tractor 🤠👍
Kubota staff say a lot of things, based on what they do not know, and what they are told. All specifications and limits are there ONLY to protect the Manufacturer from Warranty and Liability claims.
Let's be nice about it but many new tractor owners don't realize the importance of proper ballast. That's why I emphasized it. Spacers do add stability along with proper ballast. It's just good information.
Seriously? How many of your high-school classmates excelled in math, geometry and physics? I am a dumbazz, but was still top marks in my classes. I was also top student in 10 month auto repair courses, but graduated feeling quite inadequate. Also remember, if you believe you have average intelligence, 1/2 of the population is dummer. LOL.

I've heard the wheel spacers with chains are the way to go too for more clearance for the chains.
I've never used chains but to another point, the only time I don't recommend ballast is when plowing. I want as much weight as possible on the front tires for steering 🤠👍
@@wildbill23c your correct. Almost a must needed item when running chains. Cheers, Mike.
Thank you for putting in the Michael Scott reference. We were all thinking it. lol

I bet adding all that weight helped with the bounce issues too that a lot of these tractors have when driving across rough terrain.
@@wildbill23c absolutely 👍

Best spacer install video on RUclips. Good job. Thanks.
Wow! Thank you so much! Glad you liked it 🤠👍
Yup! When I tipped my tractor first thing after getting her running again, I got Brotek spacers!
I sincerely can't believe I didn't have them before. Big shout out to Lucas at Peeks Peak 🤠👍

That's a very good observation. All I know is they work. 🤠👍
I do not understand your concern? The spacers are held to the hub with 2 studs and three bolts, which equal 5?
GoodMorning Sam, just a word on safety, You should only use sockets made for impacts, regular sockets can come apart while using an impact. Great video though!
Thank you! I did not know that. I appreciate the advice 🤠👍

The solution I came up with was putting RV fluid in the tires.

Not making it through those super narrow openings any more, like when we moved the slate. Fair trade off though.
