    Hi Mike,
My name is Greg. I was born in 1956 and I can remember buying cards from as far back as 1964 at the age of 7. I never considered myself a collector, just a baseball nut. I happened to become a Yankee ballboy in 1971. I'd won a trivia contest on the radio and won 2 Yankee homestands. I worked a weekend series in June and July. I was assigned to work the first base foul territory. The Yankees had given me a few "gifts" for winning. In addition to my uniform and a bat was a wax box of 1971 cards. I was told by my Dad to take great care of them and so I cherished them, never really "played" with them. I still cherish them today and have them in my set binder in pristine condition.
That was really the beginning of my collecting life that continues to this day. I'm primarily a set builder but collect certain players too. I've built all the sets of the 70's and 60's and some odd sets from the 50's. Needless to say the 1971 Topps design is my favorite and have collected many autographed cards with that design. Past and present players.
Anyway, I enjoy your channel very much and look forward to future videos.

I still have the 1986 Canseco Donruss for the only reason that I traded a MINT 1986 Fleer Jordan rookie my brother pulled and gave me for it at a local card shop! My brother died couple yrs ago at 39 and he gave me crap about that till the end! I'm 50 now never had the resources to buy another Jordan but is on my bucket list and I will take it to his grave and show him I finally got it back!

Dan’s card room was indeed amazing. However, after sharing those awesome pictures and than Juxtaposed with your two meager shelves in the background- I had to chuckle. There’s nothing wrong with being the common man of card collecting because viewers like myself can relate to you and your humble nature plus you tell good stories (even if you hate on Jack Morris who grew up in the same city I did and in my opinion had the greatest pitching performance in WS history- propelling the Twins to their 2nd WS championship). Lol

    • @JunkWaxHero

Great point , I never looked at it that way.
But some additional factors, I grew up in Rhode Island which was Red Sox county so all Red Sox cards were sought after.
Yaz got inducted into the Hall of Fame in 89 so his popularity was high at that time.
Although there was no grading back then the card is Mint, I’m no professional grader, but it would get around a 7.
And the 67 Yaz card is his triple crown year so it always had a little more value, that holds true to this day.
