    About the clickers; in the games, you usually want to approach them stealthily and stab them in the neck with a knife or a makeshift blade, because it takes a couple of headshots to kill them with a gun. So, game accurate!

    Ellie didn't give her blood to Sam because she thought it would make him feel better so he could go to sleep, and she most definitely never had a thought to kill him in his sleep or even if he was awake, she did it (imho) because she genuinely thought it might work, she knows her blood/immune system is the key to stopping infections once bitten, if anything in that moment was going to save Sam (at least in her mind), was giving him some of her blood, no matter how minuscule that chance was, it was still a chance to save a child and a new friend. 🤔

    In the game, clickers can take multiple shots to the body before slowing them down. It took so much to kill them in episode 2 up until the head shots. You can kill a clicker with one strike (in the game) by either getting a head shot or taking a shiv/knife to their heads. Ellie's scene was kind of supposed to be symbolic of that even though it looks like she got them closer to the neck.

    The person being dragged behind the truck wasn't a collaborator, it was a FEDRA soldier or officer. He didn't get a trial. It was collaborators who were bing offerred the trial for surrendering.
    Joel knows how to use a rifle, having never used this particular type, he needed a few shots to figure out how it specifically behaves, like does it pull more to the right, does it sight lower than it looks? Once he got that down, he was pretty dead on.
    The actual overthrow of FEDRA was within the last 2 weeks, the rebels never really got anything set up after, Kathleen was so adamant about finding Henry and Sam.
    I'm a little glad they didn't make just smearing Ellie Blood on a fresh bite a remedy. It wouldn't take long for someone to let that slip after being saved. Ellie would then be a highly prized bounty.
    If you actually wanted to know, they spoil the name of the boss of this episode in the closing credits. If you consider the closing credits separate from the episode, thus spoiler.

    She killed one clicker by hitting him in the neck. The second one she hit kinda in the shoulder and Joel sniped it.
    It's funny because her knife in the games is pretty much overpowered, as it is an unbreakable shiv that can be used indefinitely when you play her, making her an extremely strong stealth character that can even easily take out clickers (the previous stages Joel can strangle to death but he needs to craft shivs to stealth kill clickers).

    I had to talk to a friend about the story of Last of Us. We share an English/Lit teacher that was really hard on us to understand meaning and how a story flows. In tragedies there are no right choices. Everything is wrong and the story in tragedies is to see the human condition in the worst possible circumstances. This is why I do not go to operas. Its about the worst of everything. Episode 3 was the "happy" episode according to Druckmann the creator of the story in the game and the show. Soooo its all going to be sad. This is about the end of humanity. The last of us. Personally I expect most everyone we come into contact with to die. Logically I don't see how humanity moves forward on a planet were a fungus is the new dominate species. Fun story to write but gut wrenching to watch and hope for a happy end. I love it.

    What a lot of people don't know is KC has a lot of tunnels both finished, partially finished, and unfished mining caves for limestone. You can drive semi-trucks into some of them and turn around in them easily.
    "I don't know if they are cursed." Whenever I hear something like this I always think of a line from "Lone Survivor" "There's no curses. It's just Afghanistan, that's all." In this case it would be 'There's no curses, its just the apocalypse.''

      Search Kansas City caves there are some pictures of them, including the ones the trucks go in.

    As irrational as it may have been for Henry to react how he did with that gun, you also gotta see it from his perspective, bc it all happened so fast. Henry has gone to great lengths to save his brother, almost crushing the resistance of of a whole group and in that moment if he didn’t grab that gun Joel was going to kill Sam. Idek if he realized he was infected yet, or if he just instinctually tried to protect him, and when he realized it all he shot him and all of that shock rushed in
    I don’t find myself necessarily being angry AT him in that moment for his actions more so than I’m just so disheartened by the situation they’re all in. They’re wrong for sure, and Joel and Ellie could’ve gotten seriously hurt or killed, but there’s just so much going on in a moment that happens in maybe less than a minute

    Absolutely wild and devastating episode. Kathleen is exactly the type of leader I expect to rise up juxtaposed with FEDRA. Two extremes both extremely dangerous. I needed a bit more backstory from her but there wasn’t really more time. That once scene showed us how ruthless she is. Everyone with her agrees rats should be shot. C U L T.
    But anyway. Back to my heart being absolutely shattered. The Jellie was strong this episode. The way he pushed her out of the gunfire and then covered from above. Poor Ellie absolutely traumatized between Sam and then seeing Henry shoot himself. I thought Bella was absolutely the star this episode! Very well done. You’re right: 4 more heartbreaking episodes. 🙃

    • @VerowakReacts
      @VerowakReacts  Год назад

      She is the type of leader to rise up from the FEDRA insanity. Like Perry said, her brother was a great man but didn't do anything. Kathleen took more extreme measures to get stuff done. More backstory would have been nice, I think a spinoff with her as the good guy would be neat. She's just so casual about killing people. Yeah just kill them. "save the kids", no chance.
      Bella did amazing, 100% the MVP of the episode. I just love seeing Joel care for her more and more. Him asking her if she's alright after Henry shot Sam. And he looked so worried and scared while up in the house trying to kill the infected around Ellie. This series is just so perfect

    • @clarkmichaels822
      @clarkmichaels822 Год назад

      The collaborators were people who profited off of a fascist regime that raped, tortured and murdered for 20 years. Nobody who ratted out their friends and neighbors to FEDRA were going to walk away from that unharmed. Kathleen makes it very clear that they had blood on their hands. A quick death might be more than they deserved. It's like getting upset at the Jews in the concentration camps who beat the camp guards to death after they were liberated.
      Henry put his own brother over Kathleen's, and Kathleen rightfully disagreed. Everyone puts themselves in Henry's shoes but imagine if you were Kathleen. Would you have gone 'oh well he probably had his reasons'? Not likely. I think the show cheats at the end by her talking about killing Sam and Ellie to make sure the audience definitely doesn't side with her because up until that point I think Henry was the bad guy.
      And the harsh truth is that she was right anyway. Sam was destined to die. All the heartache, the betrayal, the violence, all the death was for nothing.

    I dind't buy that Henry and Sam got out of that "boss battle" unscaved as well. After that fight they would have checked for injuries. Also showing Ellie's perspective before saving Joel in the last episode didn't really click for me. Both times it's an issue of giving the viewer too much information so that they're able to figure out the twist before it actually happens. This might just have been a thing with Jeremy Webb's direction though, but we'll see.

    I wish we got more background on Kathleen because I really struggled to buy into her as a leader in this world. I'm OK with her being an unlikely leader, maybe even a reluctant one, but in any political/social movement there are always going to be various factions vying for control and people lining up to take leadership. As such, I think I really needed to see how she was elevated to or took leadership following her brother's death and how she maintained it. It would have been good to see how she brought about change (the overthrow of FEDRA) where her brother had failed.
    As for Ellie killing the Clickers, I don't think it's as simple as so many other Zombie movies and shows where a single head-shot or stab, wherever placed, is enough to kill them. My guess is that if you hit them in a part of the head that's mostly fungus as apposed to the host's brain tissue it'll keep coming at you. So yeah, I think Ellie was just lucky enough to get the first one in the right spot and I'm pretty sure the second one was still alive after she stabbed it, but Joel then shot it.
    Enjoying the show and your reactions. Keep 'em coming.
