2023 was a great year for Tesla, but 2024 is looking even better because Elon Musk is ready to introduce a Tesla E-bike, and it's going to be amazing! Musk personally showed off the idea for the new bike, and believe me, you'll definitely want to grab one for yourself. But what makes Tesla’s Ebike so special?What does it provide for the public that sets it apart from other e-bikes already available in the market?
Elon Musk, the guy known for his mind blowing ideas, decided to finally give us the Tesla e-bike. Just when we were wondering why it took him so long to drop a hint, bam! He hits us with the announcement, and it's even sooner than we expected. Musk has this knack for turning wild thoughts into real stuff - it's like his superpower.
In a recent interview with Kara Swisher, an American journalist, Musk revealed that he wasn't a fan of e-scooters as they could be dangerous but totally vouched for e-bikes. Fast forward a few months, and boom! The Tesla e-bike is now a real thing.
For all the Elon Musk fans eagerly waiting for this, the announcement is like a happy surprise. Let's be real, when it's Tesla, getting disappointed is pretty rare, especially with a simple and cool idea like an e-bike. Why are we so sure this will be awesome? Well, Elon Musk isn't just the Tesla guy; he's the brain behind SpaceX, the genius behind Tesla Inc, and even started Neuralink and the Boring Company. Making an awesome e-bike is totally a piece of cake for him! And guess what? Tesla has some history with bikes - they once rolled out quad bikes with the Cybertruck. So, getting into the bike world isn't really a challenge for them.

Will it be "effectively legal" to steal, like other bikes and e-bikes?
Hopefully Tesla engineers understand the needs of a serious bicycle rider as opposed to most, with a necessity to haul load, front, and back, and maybe a trailer, as well as serious long lasting bearings, and not cup, and cone. I would also recommend more the upright position for road acuity, and posture, taking into account the higher speed an ebike can go. Also strong heavy duty wheels, with full mud, and dirt fender protection is very important. Anything less is but a novelty to a serious rider, and won't be taken seriously.

You can replace a bike seat with the kind that you prefer, there are many different kinds. Bike manufacturers go with what they think the mainstream wants for that sort of bike.

Nothing cheap about owning & maintaining an ebike if you want to keep it in perfect working order. Good branded ebikes with decent components are expensive, mine was $7000 AU & thats only a midrange ebike with decent components. "Full servicing" is required at least once a year if you ride the bike regularly & thats expensive at around $350 here in AU. You will go through several chains per year & the drive train will have a much shorter lifespan due to the extra torque the motor produces. Ebikes are a highly sort after item by scumbag crims so if you've dropped a decent chunk of cash on one then you may want to insure it against theft. Batteries dont last forever & if not charged correctly will have a much shorter lifespan & are very expensive to replace. Mine is $1400 AU. I love my ebike & dont regret getting it for a minute but dont go into this thinking it will be cheap :)
For about $1,500 U.S. dollars one can get a good e-bike in the U.S. $7,000 Australian dollars converts to $4,574 U.S. dollars. If you paid that much for an e-bike, you KOO KOO. And taking everything into account, an e-bike is still a much cheaper option than a car for getting around in the city.
@@SteffiReitsch If you want to risk it with a cheap Chinese made battery & motor in a $1500 ebike then good on you! I'll pass & buy something reputable. Also ebikes aren't all the same at different price points, you have hub drives & mid drives, different torque levels, low end & high end drive trains, suspension or no suspension.... The list goes on & people have different requirements & riding styles. Your not "KOO KOO" if you pay over $1500 for one you just want a bike thats going to last, you can ride each day without issues, have parts readily available if something needs replacing & most importantly be able to sleep at night knowing that its unlikely your battery is going to self ignite & burn your house down!
