    Student loans should be dischargeable in bankruptcy, like virtually EVERY other form of debt. I believe only back taxes and child support are also exempt. The laws need to be changed. But since congress controls the laws through ̶b̶r̶i̶b̶e̶r̶y̶ lobbying, don't hold your breath.

      Just leave and never come back and you will never have to pay a single cent. They won't chase you in your country with the current administration.

    Ok so I left the country 6 years ago but loans are in default how can I fix to get this? I am rehabilitating some of them but MYEDDEBT is not letting me rehabilitate ? How can you help? How much will this cost me ? How much can you save me?

      @Brian citizens living overseas have every right to return any time they like. Citizenship is inalienable.

      @Brian you are a joke. It is you who doesn't understand the Constitution. A citizen cannot be stripped of citizenship based on their political views. The Supreme Court is indeed the final arbiter of constitutionality. Citizens are free to leave the country any time they like for any reason and are free to return again whenever they choose. Whether you agree with their reason for doing so is completely irrelevant and immaterial.

      Brian some of these kids were just dumb teenagers who got pressured into taking out 6 figure loans, can you really blame them? and the interest rate on these loans should seriously be illegal
