    I have since new a 2017 Husq TE300 with:
    EASY Throttle Cam.
    J.D. Mikuni Jet Kit.
    2018 Intake Manifold Flange.
    BOYESEN Rad Valve RAD-42E.
    FMF Turbine Core II SA.
    STEAHLY 12 ounce FWW.
I made a special tool to check actual fuel level in the float bowl where I attached a fuel hose to the float bowl drain plug.
The engine runs smooth and pulls well. I'm going to install a 36mm Keihin carb next.

    I transformed my 2022 300 TPI in to a 2022.9. 🤣
Made it 100% premix (removed the oil injection line, red LED dash light & oil pump), relocated 1 fuel injector to between the throttle body and reeds.
Then changed to a Cobber ecu and Slavens S3 head.
Lastly turned the air bypass screw in from 3.5 turns out to 1.5 (richening it) and turned the stock yellow power valve spring out 2.5 turns so the adjuster is flush with housing.
Now tractor pulls at idle rpms, has instant throttle response at all rpms & throttle positions. And has more power every where.

If your riding a 2017 KTM there's no need to change that was a major year they changed things with the counterbalancer. They have made the frames more rigid now with less flex, which = a harsher ride and a 17 has good flex. You have a kick starter and a carb, which is awesome.

Awesome job! Love the vid. The thing I love about my TPI bikes is how they lug so well - and it never wears me out. I have found that with a bike that isn't so snappy, I can ride much better and then it's me riding the bike and not the bike riding me. Having said that, I am going to get the TBI in 2024 and I can't wait. And as you said, I'm going to keep my TPI bike, because it's that good...I have three of them (TPI's) and I've absolutely loved them and have never had any problems whatsoever.

Sounds like the TBI is pretty sweet. From performance stand point sounds like its a winner. Reliability we will have to see. I also love that 1st and 2nd are lower. I use my TX300 for hard enduro anyway and have geared it down for that. I think Morgan from highlands cycle pointed out some good things that also bug me like the location of the fuel pump and how it doesn't reach the lowest point in the tank. This might be the one to get when I give up my TX. Not sure the VARG is gonna do it for me but wouldn't mind seeing it in your stable! Hope you like white!

Interesting video! Ya, your carbed bike sounds like an animal with the high compression head - they can get very aggressive. I wager the TBI would be more to my liking for a long and tough day of racing or trail riding, as a hard hit is fun, but it can wear a rider out over the course of a day too.
18 300 XC here with a Lectron, V4 reeds and S3 head with medium insert. I live in Colorado, the head and Lectron make it perfect for my riding, which can range from freezing temps up into the 90s, at 4.5K elevation all the way up over 12K. The combo of the Lectron, reeds and head is always on point. It still barks off the bottom nicely at my elevation which is good as I am a short shifter in the tight stuff.
Have ridden a few TPIs, they are nice, but don't have the aggressive personality that the carb provides here in thin air land Colorado, even with work done to them. For me the carb is just a bit more fun, and fun is why I ride. The TBI sounds interesting, more rowdy and carb like, but with the exactness of FI, kind of splitting the difference between the two, which could be a cool spot. I like the new bike's sharp look and covet those updated AER forks too, and actually like that the TBI is back to premix - it is just not that big a deal and less to go wrong.

Great comparison...I'd be curious to know how much of the difference between the TPI and TBI is actually the change to TBI vs mapping improvements.
