- My survival mode experiences tend to be rather short. In Double Dragon Gaiden that is about to change. While this was the only run I did with Marian and Matin, I do see some other characters being able to do something similar. Let us know in the comments if you want to see other characters spam like a pro in survival mode :D
P.S. I don't ever use power ups in general. But it gave me a good laugh though and it was fun to fool around, and I hope you do too XD.
Special thanks to @SecretBase and their team on making an amazing DLC update that is FREE. Pick up a copy and don't spam like me. It will ruin the fun in Survival Mode trust me on this one, unless you like spamming one move ;)

I played Survival mode until I got around 65k cash and decided to quit and cash out because I was bored of spamming SPs and refused to be defeated. To my surprise I got 0 tokens. DO NOT QUIT survival mode lol
That's unfortunate. We need a cash out option haha
When you reach 100k it will start over you get it in the it stared 3 time endup with 300k and give me 600 plus tokens I'm d end
as someone who has Marian as main, I confirm she is very broken in survival mode
But honestly that's more the problem of the game mode itself who struggle to really be difficult than Marian's fault, I even tried with Chin Sei Mei whom Im rather unexperienced compared to Marian and even then I simply wiped the floor, the ability to virtually have "infinite" special and become invincible through upgrades is what make the survival lack challenges
Not to mention that after wave 30, you are forced to eat the turkey at the end of each wave giving you all the time +100 hp which is a bit TOO helpful imo
@Rocket_Ninja The AOE from her rocket launcher may just be the largest in the game XD.
There is an update in the works right now to make survival mode more difficult. There is a steam beta patch available already for testing.

I didn't mention it but, a good tip is you can take the chicken/turkey power up if you don't like the power ups the game gives you. It won't count towards your 30. In this run Marian got her 30th on wave 31.
marian is just straight up broken
I pray for no nerfs because of this :). The power ups themselves are the broken ones when combined.
People been saying that from the start but she’s not. When she starts getting hit her health bar goes down super fast. It all balances out. The only reason she’s so dominant in this vid is because he chose a power up to allow you to sacrifice some health when the special meter is not fully charged which changes the dynamic a lot.
@Thatdeal79 definitely best to not get hit ;). I did make a mistake when I got the health upgrades for her, I tried the one where you lose maximum health for more damage but in reality Marian didn't need it.

@@Thatdeal79 haha yeah I find it useless on Marian lol. I didn't actually read fine print there XD. She only has like two melee attacks lol.
Been a while on a vid. Didn't know about survival. Looked like some new enemy & level stuff, including armored Okada.

Yeah haha, finally finished being sick. Actually survival mode is a new update mode. Yep no ending, until you want to end it XD

Armored Okada was already in the game. If you pick her stage last she'll show up in armor.

There's been some tweaking/patching going on. My 2nd playthrough in Survival, I got to Wave 225 before putting the controller down and letting them kill me. Now, if I get to wave 30+ its impressive.
@Greidaon yup, this is the initial survival mode with no tweaks/updates playthrough. I believe there has been two tweaks/updates to survival mode now. Lots of bosses come earlier in the waves. And in numbers too XD

Awesome video! If I may make one suggestion: sounds like your audio could be better quality. Have you tried optimizing your mic in OBS settings?
Thanks! Actually the recordings of video and voice are separate haha. I think I didn't speak loud enough or close enough to the mic. It's been awhile since I last recorded a voiced video I may have forgotten my setup will definitely have to redo it, I was too excited to share this though XD
It sounds more like you're too close to the mic or the gain is too high. Your voice sounds distorted. The ingame audio sounds fine. There's nothing wrong with it.
@TheAnimeHERO Yeah I made the gain kinda high, since the end result didn't come out as loud as I expected when adding the game sounds to it.

Of course I can do that, it'll definitely be confusing haha. Since other power ups will affect each other's performance.
That being said should I focus on power ups individually? Or go for as if you're getting the other power ups to make that particular power up really good?

if you can more videos that will be great but not do burn out yourself. Anyway more videos = higher chance of more ads earnings and possible more subs.
Video ideas I can give are:
- Must get upgrades on Survival mode
- Must get upgrades on Story mode
- Must get upgrades on Hanzo or Martin in DD Gaiden

Haha I should have added the upgrades into the individual videos but, I felt since upgrades were all random not everyone would get the same ones in one run. But now with survival mode a thing, it's kind of expected to get all the power ups wanted now XD.
Edit: are you looking for a in general tier list or a specific like story or survival mode? After finishing Matin and Willy I am playing a tier list for characters haha. It will be fun X)

@@zaneloke9933 great I am actually working on it, but it's more of a general informative video explaining how upgrades work and their synergies with other upgrades as someone else asked about a video explaining the upgrades. Also a mini tier list on each upgrade but on how much each character needs it/how effective is it on them, and then a picture at the very end of the video with a tier list without factoring in characters XD.
I'm just about done learning about the upgrades, and how damage calculated, and finding some errors in the specials, but became sick and it effected my voice, so I can't speak so well right now unfortunately. So, I won't be uploading that video just yet. Some time next week or next Saturday it'll be out for sure! Sorry for the inconvenience.
Didn't think there was a limit to the number of Power Ups you can get. So far I managed to 25 but I had no idea that health for super Power Up would take so little health away. Marian's Mine is pretty powerful. Although I feel the game itself is kinda wearing out it's fun really fast. More after seeing how its possible to reach over 100 levels in Survival.I only got it less than 2 weeks now & this DLC has been serviceable.
I think the health for super is new. So I assume it's not properly balanced yet. Especially when getting invulnerability when doing a certain special as well, it's just broken XD.
While there are a finite amount of things to do in game. The game makes up for each character being unique from one another. With the 3 new characters added it's at least fun (to me) to learn and try out the new characters.
It’s properly balanced you might have the sp cut cost upgrade.
@graysonbrown9778 yup I do have it. I noticed that you have to get the SP cut upgrade in order for the Invincibility upgrade to be seen for that particular special.
Its broken in the players favor, but its a great mode to farm tokens, especially in comparison to what you get for a story run. Thanks to 1 run to like 91 I got like 360 tokens. My story run only got me like 25.
Yep it's very fast to grind tokens even if you die early as well.
I'm currently playing survival mode with just Billy and Jimmy, and holy crap, once I maximized my upgrades the whole mode just becomes ridiculously easy. The enemies and even the bosses do not put up much of a challenge. It's even funny when I noticed that the boss and enemy placements literally repeat along with the stages too. Not just that, the bosses are way easier in this mode than in the story mode. What was a very intimidating final boss (the "mayor") became a big fat flipping joke. Not just that, the fact that I cant even quit to redeem my tokens make this mode obligatory to play through to the end NONSTOP. It just never ends! Either let yourself get killed on purpose, or keep going until by some miracle some hard stage finally puts an end to your brawling rampage.
Did I also mentioned that I was using Billy and Jimmy? Literally not even the most broken characters in the game by the way! Either I'm a god at Double Dragon, or at the very least I'm simply too good with Billy and Jimmy, or this survival mode is pathetically easy?
I literally had to pause the game and go to sleep because I started the run at about 11 PM, and then when I made it to like wave 83, it was literally 3:30 AM! This mode seriously never ends!
And you want to know the funniest part of this comment? I'm writing this right now in the same noght I made it to level 83 and went to sleep because I just can't get over this. Also it's 4 AM right now, so...yeah...goodnight guys...
I'm probably going to see Billy and Jimmy flying and swinging all over the place in my dreams.
@crashingblow3753 the general consensus is that it's currently too easy. I've heard that a new update covers the difficulty and some other things are coming soon though :)
Yeah unfortunately there's no cash and option yet. So dying purposely is the go-to to get your tokens.

I was playing the Surv mode first time and saw the token exchange rate was 9999. Isn't it crazy high? How to lower it? I beat up to wave 5 and then game over, all the cash I earned went to void because no way it is near the 9999.
@stevenwong5218 as you progress further the exchange rate will lower drastically. I don't know the amount as you progress though unfortunately.
This update was really fun. I manged to get to the wave 27, but I see that there's really a lot of them. This game is amazing. I hope they add Rebecca Brielle and Cheng Fu from Double dragon neo Geo in the future.
Congrats! Rebecca does look like a great choice. Cheng Fu seems to be more of the drunken fist style and what not. I think Sonny is the drunken fist representative I believe.
@@notsobrightgamer I think having a coop tag team made of her, Marian and Lee brothers would be pretty interesting to see. Two brothers and there girlfriends. And yeah. I guess Sonny already is representing the style similar to Cheng Fu.
@MrK-tp1gr I've never played the Neo Geo one. But have read that Rebecca can shoot as well? Your right she'll make a good duo with Marian :)
@@notsobrightgamer Well, she doesn't use projectiles. She uses tonfans. But hey, Marion in Neo Geo game didn't have guns, so I guess Rebecca could have them here as well.

Its hard to get survival mode right. Either its to easy or way to hard. I love sor4 survival mode,but feel it gets to hard in later stages with enemies killing you with one hit.
@themoviereviewwarriors939 haha yeah. I barely get past 30 in SoR4. SoR4 has red enemies that one shot you. I think DDG is on the right path. But I think in the later waves the AI needs to be smarter as they currently don't tech out to avoid knock damage hits.
I’m at wave 130. The game is broken. I guess a patch will help. There aren’t any real changes to the enemy characters you see on screen.
Yup this survival mode is about how long the enemy can survive against you XD. I do hope for some changes though.

@sqrabbit1 this video was the original survival mode, where it was much easier. With the new update to survival mode a while back, it should be harder now. Though the power ups are luck of the draw since it's possible to get the unwanted ones together and makes one want to eat a turkey XD

Came to your video to see if wave mode ever ends. I'm on wave 63 with Billy and Sonny and my thumbs are getting tired.

@@notsobrightgamer Sonny is fun. But I do feel like all the characters besides the main four are almost intentionally a little awkward. Would have liked him to have a grab like his cousins.
I left it on the upgrade/choosing power up screen lol
I find him the strangest of all the characters combo wise. It's like none of his moves like to go together easily, unless having perfect positioning. And having no aerial specials makes it harder to use him effectively lol. Especially when his double jump attack is that slow elbow XD
I played up to wave 201 and gave up I got tired after a while but it was fun doh
