    Yummy thank you...the thought of frying the blachan phew the smell. I might risk toasting on a
    Disposable BBQ, I will wait to do it in the autumn when the flies are not around ha ha ha
    And make some Sambal blachan...I made this years ago, my daughter calls it pong

    being Vietnamese, I always have a jar of shrimp paste in the fridge. it doesnt come in a block like that though, its more of a thick paste. Could i use that and toast that instead?

      Hi @thi nguyen..,no I wouldn’t toast it. You can use it as a paste. You can find Malaysian belachan at the bigger Woolworths.
