Honestly, I don't do digital art because i don't have a drawing pad, but I know that FireAlpaca is a free program and I would recommend to do your sketches first on one layer then lower the Quality and go onto the other layer and do your line art. Than go back into the other layer and erase your sketch.
There are very cheap drawing tablets. Mine only costs 30€. I personally tried drawing with a mouse before and it's really terrible. You have to get used to the mouse or your lines end up in places you don't want to. Even when smoothing the lines turned out wobbly But there's the point connecting tool which I tried on Paint tool sai and it was much better, you can even change pressure like digital. I myself would recommend a graphic tablet though. The cheap one is just as good as expensive ones I can just admit that myself
Well I figured out the new canvas But now it doesn't have the white background, just the gray and white checkered thingie I filled the layer with white though so
Hey ToonSquash, I was wondering to color and shade I use overlay and multiply on a shading and coloring layer, is there a more correct way for doing this? Btw should color and shading be on one layer?
i first colour with a flat colour than make a new layer above the colour layer and make it a clipping than i add all the shading on the clipping layer above the colure layer

To get the white background ,(as your dealt canvas setting), Opening up a "New" project which will pull up the option where you can set the width and height. On there you will see a box that say "BackGround Color" click on it and select "Color". You will now have a White Background on each of your projects by delft. And not the transparent one. Hope this helps.
LOL Yep. And most art takes anywhere from 5-20 layers, if not more. If you're doing simple things like basic cartoons, 5-10 is a good range. It's really easy to use, but I do often end up using the wrong layers for certain things. I either forget to change to the right layer, or put it on the wrong one. It doesn't REALLY matter too much once it's all blended together, but keeping things on the right layer is kind of important while you're actually working. XP

Whenever I use the pen or pencil, they always look all pixelated. Antialiasing is on and my brush is the default size. Does anybody know how to get the lines smooth like he has?

Thank you for making this video, I just tried it after only using GIMP(that isn't really optimised for tablets) and so far I'm in love with this Alpaca, this line smoothener is incredible for me because I use a Small tablet (Intuos Draw Pen S) :D From now on I make my animations with this program, after the next one, I already drawn that :( .

if you want to be there at an awkward angle then sure! i did that for the longest time before i could get a tablet. the one thing is you won't be able to get pen pressure on it, and if you want to use it on a tablet/ phone then you can download the app Medibang. It's made by the same people and is the same as firealpaca. hope this helps!
Like the comment on top said, Wacom is a really good brand. (And the only brand I know of when it comes to drawing tablets) As a person that uses a tablet from Wacom, I really recommend it to you.

Ive been trying to export each individual photo into windows movie maker, but i cant find out how to not make it a slideshow. Im asking toomsquash because he actually uses firealpaca to make his animations, so i need help on this.
I don't know if you still want help finding something. But Audacity is a really nice program. Could be kind of confusing at first, but there's tutorials on RUclips telling you how to use it if you can't figure it out by yourself. You just then have to use some other program to merge the sound file over the video. Something as easy as Windows Movie Maker would suffice.

They're called graphic tablets (late reply) they all have some downs most of the time they don't really . I recommend anyone out there for a huion 1060 plus or a Wacom intuos or if you have enough money for something else then get it !

For the layers I use multiply on my color one because when you use multiply if you go over the line art the color will only go under it so I only use it for shading and stuff like that

u don't need a drawing pad for drawing digital art. In fact, Firealpaca has a correction tool which works with the mouse!

For the layers I use multiply on my color one because when you use multiply if you go over the line art the color will only go under it so I only use it for shading and stuff like that

Can I use this to add different design fabrics to a clothing pattern sketch to see what the finished product will look like? Some fabrics look better than others in different areas. Can I import the fabric picture?
