  • With the elections just around the corner its time to bring back a candidate who embraces the challenge of this modern world. This is from the Smothers Brothers 20th Reunion Show from 1988. Pat again leads the way in american politics.

    Patrick Paulson was the candidate for the ages. Back when politics was fun.
    No matter what side of the aisle you were on. Smothers Brothers with Pat Paulson etc. was the most watched show when I was in the army during the Viet Nam era.

    I saw Pat perform at a local comedy club in 1992 and he was fantastic...using a lot of his campaign shtick here. A true comedian. RIP.

    I was watching a old Jefferson Starship video "Laying it on the Line" and saw him in the crowd lol. Had not thought of him in years so I had to revisit this great comedian .

    I had the privilege of seeing him perform in 1968 at Sweet Lorraine's Cafe in Southfield, Michigan. Small venue. Only couple hundred people if I remember right. So damn funny! What a thrill!

    I met Pat Paulsen a few years before he died. He was, in real life, a quiet and mild-mannered gentleman. Also, he appeared to be very intellegent.

    He came to Iowa State University sometime in the 1970s when I was there. I had watched him on the Smother's Brothers show so made a point of going to his show. His comment about being in Ames Iowa was "it's better than a hot stick in the eye".

    I' met his niece she said I never understood his sense of humor I cracked one of his jokes to her she laughed I told her your uncle told me to tell you it's about time you got the damn joke😁

    The day Paul Paulson said he wasn't running for president, he started walking. The funny thing is that he would be a GREAT president! Now my pants sailed from Missouri to New York. I wonder if this laughter will last. I think it will. Lol.

    Pat Paulson was the first celebraty I had a crush on... I was five! My mom thought I was having mental problems. It didn't last long but Pat was someone I did find amusing I miss him and his campaigns alot. This had to be his funniest bit.
