    You did an awesome job Jim. The attention to detail was to the “T”. From a piece of wood to a very useful jig that you will use probably on a daily basis. By the way your technique on spreading the glue is top notch!! LOL, thanks for sharing Jim. I do enjoy your photography of the birds and surrounding area...you live in a beautiful place.

      Thanks so much Becky. I thought my glue spreader would be popular. I have a need for the jig on an upcoming project. Still doing all the spring yard work right now. The tulips are coming up and the wife has got plans for flower gardens. As a team we do a pretty fair job on the property and house.

    That is a great little jig. My belt sander sits unused for most of the time because they are such one-trick ponies but seeing this has made me realise it can be more useful than I imagined. I’ll be making one of these for sure. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻

      Have fun, mine sander pretty much lives on the jig now. So handy.

    I suspect that's going to get a lot of use. Also, by releasing just one clamp, you have your power tool back for normal use. I don't know, that Chris Cute has a lot to answer for (he he). Nice one Jim ☺

    Excellent. Can't wait to make my own. Question: how did you ensure that the sanding surface was square (that is, 90 degrees to the table top)?

    • @JimDockrellWatertone
      @JimDockrellWatertone  4 года назад

      I used a square. Turns out, most belt sanders have sides that are pretty much a right angle to the belt.

      @@JimDockrellWatertone Agreed, yup. Any issues with the enclosure not allowing the motor to breathe? Thanks again...

    • @JimDockrellWatertone
      @JimDockrellWatertone  4 года назад

      @@christopherrussell-mea-6982 No, I've mounted it in that direction so the most air circulation is on the top side. I don't use it for hours on end either.

    • @JimDockrellWatertone

      No cut list....put the sander on it's side and build around it. Chris Cute had the original idea...see his channel.

      I just took a look at my belt sander when I got home and mine will be almost as easy. I feel like I just gotta add one small support block for one end of the sander due to the oddball shape. Of course the FLAT side is the one you want access to...
