Years ago, I was intrigued by movie trailers featuring "epic songs." As I searched RUclips and found many renditions and covers, I still could not find a piano cover that resonated with me. I decided to create my own arrangement of the song with the piano as the leading instrument. I enjoyed the cover version of "Requiem For a Tower" by the London Music Works. I connected with the tempo and feel of the music. I decided to base my cover of the song off of this version. I covered Requiem for a Tower, a cover of the original composition Requiem for a Dream, (Mansell).
Ryan McNeal's concept was inspired by Dante's "Divine Comedy." On the surface, the poem follows Virgil's journey through Inferno, Purgatorio and finally Paradisio. At a deeper level, it conveys the soul's journey toward enlightenment. This concept was visually evoked through a series of varied angles and choreography, representing a journey to Heaven from Hell. The video opens with our souls awakening. The dance is rigid as the sun is blaring in the desert. By the end, the dancer expresses her freedom with less constrained movement as the music reaches an inevitable apex.
After weeks of contacting piano owners and stores, we still weren't able to secure the instrument for our shoot. The night before the shoot, Kasimoff Bluthner Fine Pianos came through on a white horse with a Steinway Piano for us to rent, complete with German cookies and cranberry juice from the owners who told us hours of stories of many great pianists who have come through their store in Hollywood. The rest of the video was shot in Joshua Tree National Park. We bonded as a family as we slept in motels, communicated via walkie-talkies and spent most of our time together. We were up at dawn, sweating in the sun and shivering through the nights, but the footage and the memories generated were priceless.
This video is one of the only music videos on the web that was shot entirely in 4K resolution. It was shot on a RED Epic 4K camera, shot in color, color-graded to black and white.

I meant it as a compliment. My favorite guitarist, Buckethead, also has freakishly large hands and is a real virtuoso at electric guitar. Expanding ones musical horizons can become a daunting task when you have seen as much as i have. My first real musical experience was attending Pink Floyds Dark Side of the Moon when i was just 12 years old. Since that time, i have seen every one of the greats, a few of the amazings, some good, some entertaining, and some that i wish i had chosen better. I go this far to let you know that i have seen over 500 live performances in my life, as well as countless youtube videos, and an astounding number of hours listening to music.
I have begun to search for something different, and while you are firmly grounded in real music, you are something different. The work you put into this piece alone is pretty intense, and the feelings your music evokes as i listen to more and more are the better ones that existence has to offer. Thank you Jennifer, and as a very wise man once said (he was about 20 feet away from me when he said it) "Keep on rockin in the free world)

Beautiful, I found this by pure accident on google play. I was looking for Requiem for a Dream that wasn't like $10 to buy one song. After hearing several versions, I almost gave up then found Jennifer's version. Gorgeous. I bought it instantly.
