- The most unique hot spring we've ever been too! These were tidepool hot springs in Yakushima Japan that are only available during low tide! The craziest part, you're not allowed to wear a bathing suit in the hot springs and this is a co-ed onsen. Usually in Japan, onsens are separated by gender unless it's a private onsen.
We had a very relaxing time in beautiful Yakushima surrounded by lush green mountains.

My lady and I spent 16 days in Iceland about 6 years ago. We drove the entire loop of the country in April and the whole place outside of Reykjavík was completely dead and nobody wanted to talk to us. It was really friken weird cause we are super smiley friendly folk. I could totally feel that same vibe listening to you guys talk about your experience there.
For two nights we had an entire large hotel completely to ourselves. They even opened and closed the restaurant just for us for breakfast and dinner and would drive down the street and go home once they gave us our food 😂

My daughter and I eat the whole mango. We always try the skin and if it's good we eat that too. Usually we stand side by side over the kitchen sink and just let the juice drip off our elbows. Love mango! Enjoy your time in Japan!

Some restaurants in the boonies, especially the nice places, need to order the ingredients to serve that day. They don’t get enough customers to take a chance on purchasing the food.

That onsen looks cool. I've never seen one so close to the ocean. The food in Japan looks delicious as always. Wagyu for dinner is still awesome though. Hopefully tourism will become normal again all over the world. I still wanna visit Japan someday.

Do you think the reason for the cold shoulder could be your tattoos? I've heard that tattoos are very taboo in japan, and even banned in a lot of places. Might be worth trying a long sleeve shirt to see if you get a warmer reception.
No, we asked some friends (Japanese) who went and they said their experience was most people were pretty cold. Taku was also usually wearing a jacket for the rain each time.
Our experience in Japan is most people don’t really care about it. You’ll find some older folks who might. A lot of onsens still have the rule but I think it’s more japan is really slow to change rules.
I noticed in one clip the other people were wearing masks but you guys weren't. Do you think you're getting denied seating at restaurants because you're foreigners and maskless? Whereas they trust the locals more? Just a thought.
Or could it have something to do with your tattoos? When I visited Japan, my friend with tattoos got a lot of dirty looks and that was in the cities mostly too.

I bought a huge 10$ organic mango in Maui and my friends were laughing at me for paying that much, but it was the best fruit I ever had !!! Friends were also very surprised how great it was.

Word got out on the island that you guys weren't fully naked at the hot springs. That's why you got the cold shoulder. For them it is full frontal or get off the island.
