Such great memories.. I had no idea termites were up north. My handyman fell through my floor. Had to replace the wall and floor joices. It’s great you were financially able to do this. New subscriber here
I can imagine the process to re build your home! I did almost the same here in Guatemala I bought old house and spent 6years to fixed! But at the end the satisfaction to make this and the most important to build your home! Beautiful video and has helped me to see when you have a special inner you can do whatever you want! What doesn’t kill ya makes you stronger right? Great job! There is never enough time in the day to get to everything on the homestead, we definitely found that out real quick!
The kid definitely slowed things down and complicated construction but it's kind of neat that he has witnessed the entire process. And at just 5 years old, he's familiar with every kind of tool and building process. Stuff I had to learn along the way... he already gets it. Where are you guys located?
+Vino Farm Corydon Indiana. And It is a farm. We sell produce/fresh eggs and home canned goods also. lol. Very similar stories. My 2 year old works by Daddy everyday. He has learned as well as our 14 year old son. This house has sure made us. lol

I noticed the greenhouse behind the old shed/barn. Honestly, didn't look that bad. Strip roof, replace. Siding needs tlc. Framing looked overall good. Use it as your potting shed/ workroom. Place to build bee equipment to boot.
Vino Farm Thanks for replying. You guys are hardworking. And the struggles with the old house...but looks amazing now. The insect dye off is noticeable in Europe. Scientific studies have shown a decrease of near 80 % in flying insects here. You are wise to keep bees. The international workers off free farmhelp would possible benefit your farm.. and you could pass on your your knowledge and blessings. Be safe and prosperous🇳🇴🤗❤🇺🇸

Great video. I feel for you regarding the house, and can definitely relate to this. Three years ago we bought a Massachusetts farmhouse built in 1780 and THANKFULLY have not had termites like you, but we've done non-stop work on the house since the day we moved in and are still going strong. Was nice to see the photos of the transformation of the house and land over the years. Look forward to new videos.

Sorry if I implied that I did it ALL myself. I did do the majority of the work, but we do use some specialists throughout construction... I do all the demo and design and then we hire two great builders to help with the major structural framing. Once we finish the framing I do all the finish work from the studs, out. I've been on site from day one and have seen everything through.
Great deal of admiration. Dreams do come true. I am a displaced farmer and watched this video with a certain level of envy and a great deal of pleasure. I know the feelings you expressed so well. The best. Good luck. Oh, at the age of 64 , I am starting beekeeping this spring, 2018. I do not ease into any adventure, am going to begin with three hives. Wish me luck.
