    EDIT: (7/10/2021): OKAY SOME *HUUUUUUUUUGE* Information just got dropped so I will be delaying the Super Special Hunter Video most likely to late tonight OR Tomorrow morning. The information was that game changing so I have to retool my video to incorporate it, since it is honestly ridiculously good stuff. Sorry for the delays!
    Apologies for the wonky audio at points! Still learning how to use my mic! Also the community discord is now live so feel free to join and say hi or lurk!

    If you like close range and being right in the thick of the fight, gunner is the pp management sub class you should use. If you prefer long range and avoiding fights then you want force as your pp management class.

    • @everydere
      @everydere  3 года назад

      On top of that, if you're focusing on grinding Force's PP eradication makes grinding PSE bursts extremely easy thanks to 24/7 full PP!

      I was thinking of doing Hunter as main and sub as Fighter so I can use all the melee weapons I like. Sword, dual blades, gloves, spear. If not that then Hunter and Techniker. Only problem is, I don't like passives or skills the drain def or HP to improve atk, so I'm not gonna turn those on.

    I played around with Te/Ra using status reduction and the Deband status reduction with a Launcher/Talis multiweapon to use the Talis Weapon Action to fuel PP regen for Fear Eraser with Geant units. Has been pretty fun and gives Techter some much needed sustained damage consistency.
    Also the boosted Resta is nice for topping back up with one resta after getting punched in the face during Fear Eraser.

      Ohhh I've seen a lot of TeRas recently in my UQs and they're all amazing! Techter's such a sick class from all the different combos you can do with it. My build is mostly focused on purely TeFo but I might switch where I placed the talis skills back onto my Techter

    I am using Te/Fo on my Main. I have 7 Characters and since one of my alts is dedicated to the role of the mage (Force), I basically "butchered" the Force Skilltree fully for my Techter Main and I think personally that this benefits me the most and I have fun with it. :)
    Good overview! This definetly helps new players and all of the people who are not sure what to pick! ^^

    • @everydere
      @everydere  3 года назад +2

      Yeah butchering the force tree for me, really helped out my Techter Tree + other classes where I use Force as a pure subclass (no rod). I did purchase a second skill tree though just in case I want to play purely force and figure some cool stuff out.
      Thanks for the feedback by the way! Today was supposed to be a hunter in depth breakdown, but I went with a subclass video since a lot of people were asking about subclasses.

  • @TheRyderShotgunn
    @TheRyderShotgunn 3 года назад +2

    i mostly use gunner and force as subclasses also. i main fighter knuckles mainly because i was roleplaying as a punching kinda character, but have since tried out other weapons and found myself still really liking the knuckles. maybe its just the sound it makes when i hit things being super satisfying, idk.
    anyway, my playstyle is heavily focused on relentless attacking, so i butchered my gunner skill tree by putting everything into offensive PP recovery so i never have to pause even for a moment to get PP back to cast fighter PAs.
    it also helps that with a gunner as my sub, i can equip a rifle that lets me make up for knucke's lack of AoE and difficulty with very high targets (like pettas vera when they are flying)
    (oh, i also sometimes play ranger and techter to fill roles when i go for UQs, and force is for those two)

    • @everydere

    TL;DR (first I am not an expert, and I didn’t proofread, watch the video to get complete understanding).
    Subclass is for the passives and photon arts. Since the game is still in its early stages, don’t commit all you skill points into a build for a subclass unless you are 100% certain. Resetting pass is hard to come by or will cost money. All suggested build are on the video. Disclaimer, subclasses really should just be what fits your play style and what is fun.
    Force: Natural PP gain, downed enemy, or charging PA, you get PP.
    Gunner: Active PP again, ever hit means you get PP
    Fighter: 5% damage increase. You can specialize in one weapon at your own risk
    Techter: can match weak element, awake sole will give a chance of PP gain
    Hunter: Damage resistance due to iron will and hunter physique.
    Ranger: decrease status ailments effects.
    Tips on choosing subclass: choose the weapon you want to use that your main class can’t. Then choose on the active/passives you want (based on the descriptions above and your own experience). Finally how fun do you find the combo. I didn’t not proofread this, not am I an expert. Just thought this could help people.

    • @everydere
      @everydere  2 года назад

      Yup this is a great TL;DR! And to add upon this:
      Braver: Access to Bow/Katana Brave Combats & HP Regen on knockdown recovery.
      Bouncer: Access to Jet Boots/SB's Fanatic Blade. Fanatic Blade was nerfed for multi-weps due to it *completely breaking the game* . Jet Boots is the main reason for Bo sub, since you'll be able to do combinations like TeBo and use Jet Boots exclusively over your wand/talis.

  • @DeviousMachineR
    @DeviousMachineR 3 года назад +2

    Techer / Fighter. Main weapon is talis / DS multi wep. I play this so I can shifta / deband my friends, aoe heal, and eley down. I primarily use talis for dps, but during down phases swap to DS to dump pp for big dmg. DS photon blast is stronger than techer's talis blast and you can dealdy archer right after since it gives you full whirlwind from photon. Also since talis is forced to use dodge I can bind DS block to use that instead of dodge sometimes. I currently have a resi talis / ds jsut because I was debating between dagger and DS when I was making the talis. The vialto with a fixa attack woudl likely be better. My armor is affixed for hybrid damage so I have about +20% to both attack types. (using 3 of the tech + melee red box armors). Obv I'm not max damage, but this lets me swap and use DS really well, which is more fun than just using talis (or wand).

    • @everydere
      @everydere  3 года назад

      Oooo I haven't seen a Talis+DS multi yet, that sounds really sick! Also I 100% build my classes based on fun/QoL over max damage as well LOL. With all the combinations in the game, and how the majority are just within 1-3% difference, there's so much variety to do in this game that it's great. I hope SEGA moving forward keeps all the possibilities for class combos viable!

    Personally i only put 1 point into pp conversion since anything more is very overkill and I barely need to use it anyway
    Instead I put the points into rod counter weapon action skills so I can multiweapon with talis and still hv a counter that also increase elemental down charge with elemental bullets
    And for my main class techter tree I just got all the passive skills and shifts deband

    • @everydere
      @everydere  3 года назад +2

      Yooo that's actually smarter than what I did! I tested out 3/5 PP convert and it's still virtually the same as 1/5. Since I have some extra skill tree passes i'll probably do that for the Talis+Rod wep action. (I've been using wand for the parry action, but Elemental Bullet would be 90x more helpful). Thanks for sharing!

    • @ianwells7916
      @ianwells7916 3 года назад +2

      I do Te/Fo as well, but I find the 5/5 conversion vital when going for Barta/Zonde effects, or during burst phases or the Photon Energy Bursts in combat zones. It basically lets me spam my spells/smash literally infinitely, even despite the fact I am charging my spell every so often. At 1/5, I would still spend about a third of every phase attacking to get PP back. As for counter with elemental, I have the Wand counter that causes rage to trigger and simply ignored the more or less useless parts of the Shifta/Deband tree (the revive one, time extender, and party range one), all of which really are over kill on a skill that naturally has a 90second duration, a generous AoE that lasts for 5 seconds on the ground, and only 15 seconds of CD.
      Its easy enough to drop it a couple seconds after your get in range of the boss, and give other melee ample time to get into the AoE. It is also simple enough to segue towards where the ranged characters (really should be) stacked, to drop the buff on them every so often during a movement phase. In the combat maps, its really simple to just drop it either in a central location at the start of every encounter or in the middle of the path everyone else will have to walk into to pick it up. In either scenario, if someone is failing to get buffed, I really consider that to be on them at that point, because I can't see their buff status, but they can. If they aren't actively doing what they need to do to keep it up, despite the generous windows of opportunity the S/D skill naturally offers, they are the ones doing something wrong.

    • @everydere
      @everydere  3 года назад

      @@ianwells7916 Ooo thanks for the indepth insight! Yeah I did notice at 1/5 I would have to attack every other time once my PP dipped to

    • @ianwells7916
      @ianwells7916 3 года назад +1

      @@everydereHonestly, no. Revoke seems like it would be completely useless, since its not like elements actually heal things. I skipped that point without even a thought. The Talis revoke seems like it may be useful if you are a legit talis main, but I simply revoke by using a Wand PA or attack with the wand.
      And yeah, I agree about buffing. This game does not follow the trinity, and there are no dedicated support classes. As a Techter, we simply sacrifice a bit of mobility and a bit of burst DPS for a hell of a lot of utility - party buffs and the only class in the game that can reliably do part damage, add to the knockdown meter, and elemental down meter at the same time. Our job is not to make sure that everyone else is constantly buffed, regardless of what they are doing, but to do damage and buff when we can.
      Was in a UQ fighting the dragon boss a couple days ago, and by chance we had 4 techters and no ranger. I was a little worried about how that was gonna go, until we ended up downing and/or shocking the boss through over half the fight.

    Ra/Fo for sure. Nothing beats infinite eraser in a PSE burst. Want that burst to last basically forever? Get 2 or 3 and cross the streams. This laser spam has the bonus side effect of insane blast generation.
    Fi/Hu is a close second for me when I want a more action-packed experience. DR is just nice on fighter, bonus having no increased damage taken for overload AND no knockback so you can focus on doing all that single target DPS and ignore the hits you might be not so good at swaying yet. Some say it has not so great PP efficiency but that can be fixed with food buffs.

    The skill trees at this stage of the game seem pretty simple, like you can easily unlock every skill for every weapon choice and still put a bunch extra into the passive boosts. The difference between each point in the passive boost is pretty negligible too, so you might as well have all the gameplay stuff first and foremost so that when you play that class it works as it's supposed to. Ranger is easily the worst subclass (just too circumstantial, I've only had an ailment one time thus far) unless you want its weapons, i.e. the LAUWNCHER. You can still get assault rifle off of gunner. So that's literally it, the launcher.

    • @everydere
      @everydere  3 года назад

      Yup, for my force tree I'm buying a second one since I have one tree for TeFo specifically, and another for Force shenanigans. But even if you don't focus ALL your points into that, there's enough points in Force to get all the skills along with pretty decent PP natural recovery AND *you still have PP Convert + PP Eradication Gain* which makes it insanely great! Honestly, I think SEGA will end up adding more SP down the line which will make choices less different.

    Since PSO2NG is coming to PS4/5 in August, I'm gonna join.
    I plan on playing thru the old PS02 content before NG, but I still think hunter will be my main class if not fighter. I never like tanking over speed, but since Hunter is still decent with speed, I'm gonna try it for the power. Play the swords look great. What I'm wondering about is if I play the old content before NG and pick Hunter and fighter as sub, does that mean they'll be bosses that as flying high out of reach I can hit? This happened in Portable 1 and 2 and I think in Universe. Sometimes the game forced you to play a mage or shooter to hit the target while it was hiding or flying far away in the air. In NG it seem you can always reach the foes even with just melee if you master jump and attacking. But what about the old days in the earlier content?

    Thank you for your video, I have just subscribed !
    Now, I am only using Fi as a sub-class to benefit for more down potency and a better PP management.
    I will definitely try Gu and Fo for more PP boosts as a Hu or a Bo. I wonder though, how useful a Hu can be as a sub-class for a Bo ?
    Hunter Physique can be really useful for the anti-knockback it provides, especially to protect you for combo interruption.
    Furthermore, I have specialized myself in the use of elemental weapons (Glissen, Flamel... not Frostal since there was no Frostal Sword and Bo was basically not out yet) and I will certainly get the Wind weapons on both of my main classes. The idea being to have a large elements coverage while fighting heavily on melee rather than casting spells. For now, the choices are limited but I will get more options and more opportunities to make use of my sub-palettes with time. Thank you again for your content, I will check more for sure ! :)

      Thank you! BoHu should work out pretty well especially as a training tool as you get adjusted to the playstyle. Jet Boots and Soaring Blades as of the Retem update, have realllly good defensive options on top of offensive uses. Also specializing in Elemental weapons sounds sick af, Im really hoping SEGA ends up an affix or new upgrade option that'll allow us to imbue elements onto our weapons. 1: Is it okay to just take on the passives from the subclass but maintain use of the main class weapon(s)? I'm not really good at switching between weapon styles. (i.e melee to ranged or vice versa) I tried it with my Hunter going between my sword and wire lances. Not fun.
    2: What would you say is the best subclass for a Force by way of damage boosts?

    • @everydere
      @everydere  2 года назад

      So to answer your questions! (Sorry for the late reply)
      1. Yes it is 100% okay to just take on the passives from the subclass! For Hunter specifically in your case, you can multi-weapon Sword+Wired Lance at the weapon upgrade areas. This allows you to seamlessly switch between the two weapons at a cost of around ~200k meseta. IMO though, 9/10 times I just stick with one weapon and ignore switching between attack types. This is completely feasible to do too since in Retem there's not a lot of times where an aerial gap closer is really needed.
      2. Absolute best subclass right now and strongest class combo in the game is FoBo ( Force with Bouncer subclass), max out the bouncer subclasses' downed damage multipliers and Force will pretty much delete everything in the game.

      I believe overload does apply to your subclass weapons, so on Fighter it would come out to be a net gain on Burst(Downed) phases? Since you'll have 115% Defeat Advantage + 120% Overload, vs Ranger's 105% Defeat Advantage + 10% Main weapon potency + Blight Rounds if you place it on too (Assuming you do RaFi vs FiRa). Excited to hear what your testing comes out to!

      @@everydere I think it is main class weapons only. The text says main class and fighter weapons. But you REALLY need to be careful with it since the big thing with fear eraser is, well, you are GOING to eat damage if you want max uptime. So that extra damage taken can significantly hinder your DPS if you are constantly having to cut it short to avoid death where without that you could have just tanked the hit.
      EDIT/Update: it does not seem to apply to non-fighter weapons. Just tested on my Fi/Hu attacking with a hunter weapon with and without overload showed no change. Against the particular enemy with a base 4* I was doing 63-76ish damage on the first sword swing and after activating overload I was still doing about that much albeit it was harder to keep track of since I also had to focus on not dying with overload up lol. So unfortunately all you are doing by using your sub weapon as the main weapon is hurting the main weapon's damage against things that are not down AND not being able to self-apply blight.

    Hello wanted to ask about multi weapons for sub class, umm does the augments and potentials of the main weapon affect the sub weapon like for example TMG being the main and sword being the sub?

    • @everydere
      @everydere  3 года назад

      So I believe, and anyone can correct me on this, the potential definitely affects your sub weapon, however augments are a different case.
      If you apply Precision III for example, it affects TMGS,Launchers,Rifles on your multiweapon, but not the Sword portion of your multiweapon. This is because Precision III/Might III/Casting III apply *only to Ranged/Melee/Technique weapons* so they would have to match.
      I think in the future, SEGA will probably implement some more raw potency augments probably around Braver's drop, to even out the hybrid weapons augmenting. Hope that helps you out!

    i honestly don’t care about sub THAT much when i play fi, pp conversion from fo can be helpful but if you’re using knuckle and can get in some consistent counter then pp management should not be a problem. I do wish the br skill tree can come with passive crit boost like in the base pso2 but at this point i don’t think it’ll be possible since that passive boost will literally make br the go-to sub for everything else, and i assume that’s not what sega wants. maybe when they expand the skill trees we will be seeing those skills to appear, idk
    right now ngs doesn’t have a class as a subclass with skills that add on to your main class offense capability except fi. with that being said i feel like picking a subclass is basically for the weapons that class uses and some minor stuff that comes with the subclass.

    • @everydere
      @everydere  3 года назад

      Yeah I'm super curious tbh what Braver is going to add for their subclass skills, we have potentially Crit Boost or Weak Potency Boost (I'm assuming this would replace Weak Stance). And both of those would be too game changing and make it the main subclass LOL.
      I agree too where I think SEGA is trying to promote making subclasses basically minimal to the point you just use the weapons themselves, over the actual class skills. I think going forward, we'll probably get some more clear choices, but at the same time I 100% can see SEGA just keeping our subclass skills the same as it is right now (Super minor increases that barely change gameplay).

      @@everydere well it could be possible that br has some good passive skills, from what we can see in the trailer katana combat becomes the pb for katana, rapid fire becomes the default shot pattern on bow so points for those skills are gone, given some skill points on katana counter buff and the possible banish arrow skill on bow (i saw some arrows lingering on the enemy in the trailer that’s why i think there can possibly be a discount banish combo) i think there should be 5 or so extra skill points if we maxed out the weapon-related skill points. maybe it will have that recov skill from the base pso2, or sega can totally butcher the possibility of br as a subclass by giving it some mediocre passives lol

    • @everydere
      @everydere  3 года назад +1

      It's pretty much down to learning the battle pattern, but best place to try and learn the parry timing would be to head to the Cocoon "Defeat the Enhanced Enemy". Usually I time my parries to be .25-.5s before the attack connects for it to work. Hope that helps you out!

    • @ShiningDarknes
      @ShiningDarknes 3 года назад +2

      Depends on the weapon. They all have different windows. For fighter and hunter weapons you kinda just have to learn what the attacks look like and it becomes more prediction parry than reaction. The best enemy I have found that really showcases this is (whatever the double blade-arm enemy is) since it has very obvious patterns but also some timings that make reaction parry harder than just knowing what it is going to do.
      For ranged attacks it is just do it a moment before the attack would connect, careful though as many ranged enemies have follow-up attacks that seem to be timed to catch you right at the end of the animation where you have infinite hyper armor but no i-frames. I have eaten a lot of damage due to this and I really think it needs a rework.
