I love your videos so much!! Can you tell me how long you think your skin will take to be full strong once the outer layer is healed? I know down under the outer layer is not strong immediately once that layer heals and can cause flares if we are not careful.
👋 hi! This is very case dependent. Light cases of TSW might heal in 1 or 2 years. Middle severity cases between 2 and 5 years and very severe cases can take 5 years + or even decades. Everything is dependent on the potency of the steroids that have been used, in combination with the dose. There is a system of 7 classes: class 7 being the lowest and class 1 the most potent steroid creams. Class 1 is 600 times more potent compared to class 7 !! Class 1, 2 and 3 are super potent steroids and cause the most problems and more severe withdrawal symptoms. Also the timeline and the surface of the body on which the creams have been used, are factors that influence the healing timeline. If a person takes 3 years to reach phase nr three, than usually the next phase also takes around 3 years. But if this person has many complication that delay the healing time, like infections, daily irritant exposure or chronic hardened skin/elephant skin, than the healing time can be much longer. So as you see, many different factors play a role. Hope this is helpful. 😊👋🌟
I'm 31 years old, I live in Europe. I've had eczema all my life. I started TSW in January 2019,after a year living with RSS not knowing what it wad, going to one doctor to another giving more and more TS. My first year was the worst, but after that I lived almost normaly. After 2 years of withdrawal I became pregnant, and had lovely pregnancy. Unfortunately my water broke in 34 week, and I had to receive two shots for the baby lungs, not knowing that those are corticosteroids, although I didn't had I choice. Definitely the year after giving birth was worse that the previous, but I don't think I had big bad flare. Until now, almost 4years in TSW, and 15 months after giving birth, my face and hands are terrible😔 the rest of the body is okay. My question is, Does the receiving those shots means that I will go through TSW all over again, are the previous 3 years for nothing 😭
Hi dear. If I read correctly you went through TSW and your skin was already back to normal, but probably still very sensitive. So let's say phase nr 3. Pregnancy is a known flare for TSW. So that normal that the hormonal fluctuations gace you a flare. After that your skin calmed down again. And only now you have a flare up again. So we don't know everything and lack scientific research, but from what Jay has observed, it is not likely that your flare was caused by the shots you received a while ago. What is much more likely is that you have encountered a trigger which is still unknown to you. So you have to research. Become a flare detective! What has changed ? Stress, not enough sleep, alcohol use, food triggers , irritants or allergens , something in your house, some new product for you or the baby? Really think of all the possibilities. I will post another video on triggers very soon. Good luck ! 💛🌟
@@TSW.healing I had a huge huge stressful poblem at work, in that period the baby did not sleep well, I started to lose weight although I eat good. My hands are red, sore and itchy, my face is sore with red circles around eyes mouth and forehead. I have edeme and swollen lymph nodes.. Some tips and advise please, because it lasts over 3months already and I feel like its gooing worse 😭
I realize you could not avoid accepting the shots. IMO, the corticosteroid shots simply re-age the TSW nightmare. It will take longer to exit the blood stream and heal, as your skin heals from the inside out. I speak from experience. I wish you well, blessings to you and your baby.
@@TSW.healing Thanks. And for your very measured and clear vids for someone just embarking on this nightmare. It's good to know at last what was happening to me after long trying to convince doctors that the topicals no longer worked, and that their advice to stop use after a period of time now meant that every timne I did so, 2 days later I was in a start of an absolutely torturous and tormenting crisis. Then I would be offered stronger topicals. Lucky (?) I only ever increased to moderate (bad enough of course), but I am 59 now, and have been stuck in this addiction for 50 years, not realising it was an addiction. I was only a child. No wonder drug solutions have subsequently been a damaging factor in my life, having learnt early that certain critical aspects of your body and mind need your direct intervention to functioin as they should, whether bodily organs like the skin or moods and emotional states. So despite the fact that I had knowlingly got myself into trouble with addictive substance, at least I was aware, and called the additions what they were, It's obvious to me now that the associated behavioural and psychological impacts of addiction were shared between topical steroids and the substance of abuse in my case: the constant mindfulness of the supply on hand, factoring in the continued supply to your calendar, special attention to particular events and occasions (e.g. a speech to give next weekend might precipitate a week's long heightened skin anxiety, skin consciousness and often prophylactic application of steroids -just be sure.!) A general concealment and denial of the dependency, both to others and oneself. And there's more besides, all so obviously addictive behaviours. I am slapping myself for having never recognised them as such WRT steroids, and suspect that having not done so will have made the months and years ahead worse and more prolonged. Oh, woe 😞
It is a nice question :) Thank you. But I'm sorry to say I don't do skin consultations. The best thing you can do is really study the material on this channel. This helps you to understand what is going on and to get to know your own skin better. Observing your skin and becoming your own flare detective will help your healing rate a lot. In short: - avoid irritant exposure and other triggers (it is a small sentence, but a big task ;) - avoid using moisturizers on your skin to prevent the de development of hardened skin - if possible, find a medical professional who can monitor your skin for skin infections. For the rest everybody's healing journey is so individual. Some choose the aid of immunosuppressive medication, others are able to get CAP treatment, others heal by time alone. Give yourself time with all these decisions and take good care of yourself in terms of healthy food and as much sleep as possible. Going outside to catch daylight everyday and enjoy your life as much as you can, even though times are rough. I wish you the best possible healing rate.

@@jophermans hi Job. I'm sorry to hear this. 2,5 years is a long time!
