My opinion on the copper economy: Expensive blocks don't get used as building materials by the average player. They're a flex, or squirreled away in a chest somewhere. I think making copper more accessible without the use of a drowned farm was part of the goal, because it's another method of getting the player to explore during the early / midgame experience that's very different from the other tasks at that level. It also encourages players to use the cartographer more, and see the other specialty maps they may have ignored (especially with the coming changes to villager distribution). Cont. I haven't a hit a single trial chamber yet and I have a crapton of copper ingots despite making my windows copper grates, my lighting copper bulbs, and shutters copper trapdoors. Personally, I miss the amount of iron we used to have access to, and think that the ore distribution between the two should either be averaged out, or copper armor and tools need to be introduced.
If it was the goal, then I feel like it was unfortuntely rather poorly thought out. The trial chambers are designed to be a repeatable challenge, but giving players an incentive to dig up a huge part of them makes the experience a lot less fun. There's few things worse in the game than constantly getting stuck on the environment as you are trying to fight off a horde of mobs.
@CMDKeenCZ I don't think it's so much an incentive to dig them all up as a different way to acquire a resource, and they're only repeatable up to the point you've exhausted the vaults and pottery, which has a very low chance of giving you a core from just one trial chamber (assuming you are in single-player). I do agree on iron ore distribution though- the mountain biomes feel very rare, and there's something uncomfortable about scarring the landscape removing pockets of ore, rather than "leave no trace" or improvement. The caves feel relatively balanced once you have end-game armor though, so I'm not sure what a better solution would be. I then proceeded to ramble about iron and gold loot from structures, but it wasn't very useful for the conversation.
@@gyrrakavian I feel like copper is treated a lot more like more like a building block. I think this approach is better, because we honestly don't need more armor and tools.

You don't even need to make a whirlpool, the big gripe seems to be the transition for the color pallet, blueshifting the materials would probably make it look more underwater
Man, I’d love to see a few things in this build. 1. Ruining it a little bit, making it look like time and the ocean has taken its toll on this ancient temple structure. 2. Flood it. Make the water level of the ocean and the inside of the build match to really sell the flooded idea. You could even dangle a conduit from the ceiling to make swimming around in the build more fun. 3. History. When you do make an interior it’d be so fun to see some shrines for what used to be places of worship in ancient times… now where you keep your stock. I think the idea of this ancient temple being revisited in modern times and turned into a stereotyped shop for prismarine… bc it’s made of prismarine. Edit: new idea, around the sides where the ocean meets the temple, some greenery, like moss or sea weed that’s got caught up against the temples rough edges, and under the water surface maybe some barnacles
I'm sure someone else has told you already as well, but: you can replay trial chambers! You can either just wait, or after a short while, apply the trial omen effect and go at it. It doesn't change the loot in the regular chests (that you've already opened anyway), but it does grant better loot drops from the spawners and it drops the ominous keys.
It would have been snowballs if there was a way to automatically replenish them. The point of the machine is to showcase dispensers, targets, and redstone lamps...the chicken burnification is an unfortunate but necessary side effect.
Tbh whenever zedaph does it I'm imagining he just fucked up while making a Minigame that requires you to commit homicide to put 1 item in an auto crafter
21:00 Reminded how the Warden is an absolute terrifying mob when you go into an Ancient City without knowing about it and how it works. There was a Minecraft series that I watched where the guy was completely clueless on the new content and it was an absolute treat seeing him get absolutely terrified of the Warden. XD
Grian 100% embodying Alex Horne from Task Master as despite being known as “LITTLE ALEX HORNE” he is literally the show runner and makes up all of the tasks
honestly the power dynamic between him and greg simply wouldn't work otherwise. there is a magic there that few of the international editions have captured. edit: the international editions, the "assistant" is, like alex, in a position of power. its just the dynamic itself doesnt seem to work as well.
Related to the way the Prismarine Palace hits the water, it might look nice to remove the glass from the windows and have streams of water flowing down on the inside of the walls. It could also be the entrance to the shop, kinda like what you've done in the top section right now. I know literally nothing about building in Minecraft though, but i just thought i would share the idea.
I was more along the line of including some smaller structures outside the prismarine palace, varying from just some small spires to perhaps a few guardian statues, and then adding a variety of lilly pads and seaweed around to help soften the stark blue color of the water.
I have a few ideas for the prismarine shop :D -Get rid of a few windows to let the water from the outside flow inside the build and make a moat (maybe even make the water running so you can put boats with some items run around the main shop area if you want to play with redstone). -Add a gradient to the bits reaching out of the water's surface to make it look wet, since realisticly the waves would crash up into the posts. -Maybe add some coral and stuff around it to make some terrain. Its actually very common irl for coral reefs to take over abandoned stuff in the ocean, as they have a lot of hidey holes for the fish. -Maybe put a dock on one side for those who dont have elytra to enter the shop with. And there you can make a decent sized sign to tell people what the shops called. Hope these helped if you want :)
I forgot to leave the comment on the other video, but I actually like the longer videos with less cuts. It allows us to see so much more of what is going on behind the scenes. Albeit mostly distractions but I just love the chemistry between the hermits, and the longer videos are in line with the "taking things slowly" thing that Grian's going on right now
It probably won’t look too good in practice, but you could use glass to create a sort of fog around the edge of the Prismarine Palace that falls into the water a bit as well to hide the transition, make it look more mysterious and make the palace look less like it was just placed in the water, and look like it has a purpose. Another idea is adding stuff underneath like rocks, coral and kelp that stick out of the water and are along the edge of the palace to make it feel more integrated into the environment. I feel like that would help it a lot. Just a suggestion but otherwise it’s a great build and can’t wait to see what you do next with it :D
i like how Grian's adaptation of Taskmaster is accurate, with Grian coming up with the idea and all the tasks like Alex Horne did and then Cub being the Greg Davies of it, being the face and host of the show
Hey, here’s a suggestion! Add some small structure around the place, like prismarine ruins. And then add foliage around it to tie it in and make it more seamless into the water. Hear me out on this: undersea foliage and stuff would probably grow on the outside and inside of the building. I personally think it’s fairly easy to tell it’s a prismarine shop, considering it’s built entirely out of prismarine.
I agree with adding undersea foliage! Though on the shop part, I think the issue wasn't clarifying that it was for prismarine, but rather making it clear it was a shop instead of another miscellaneous structure. He pointed out that the other locations have signs, like shops do to advertise their goods.
I think that the main thing holding it back is that there’s a beautiful build and then just… Minecraft water. Like, the water’s just so flat and same almost, you know? The sort of intricate detail on the shape and textures of the build and then BAM flat, blue, Minecraft water.
21:53 when will Hermits learn "the Cub way", to keep an Enderchest full of mostly empty shulkers and a silk touch pick in your inventory at all times. It's an infinite backpack.
You can change the glass that's under the water to green glass in the prismarine shop so it looks like an algae. It could make a nice transition, but you will have to change the under water prismarine for something greener too.
Shop suggestions: 1 - Lichen + something to simulate barnacles around the waterline. 2 - Maybe some pickles scattered on the edge of the roof or on "spurs" sticking out at or just under the water (to simulate corrosion or flaking of the structure and something growing on it). 3 - The pillars should transition to a darker color as they hit the water to show they're wet (like Gem has done on the pillars of the docks and struts around her waterline builds). 4 - If you line the bottom edge of the shop where it hits the water with an extra layer of water source blocks ABOVE the current waterline, it would make the structure seem like it is magically attracting and "pulling" the water up to it + the additional flowing water would add some visual movement around base where it seems too static (and where in reality there would be constant small waves lapping against the side). 5 - On that note, could you hide some soulsand/magma blocks around the seafloor to give the structure a few bubble columns? Not only would that add a nice visual, it could also allow you to include a few underwater entrances on the sea floor at the base of those bubbles.
I'd like to add on: 6 - vines and lilypads along the waterline to show plants latching on 7 - giant magicky prismarine shard floating above the build for that personality 7.5 - or, instead, trap an elder guardian at the top of the build (might not be so good cuz mining fatigue :/) 8 - smaller spires poking out of the water to integrate with the land a bit better
@@juliec.547 #8 especially, part of thr problem is that the build is extremely lonely in the lake at the moment. Building some jagged rocks, sunken ships, etc etc will definitely help give the build it's own atmosphere (which is what a diamond tier shop deserves)
@@DauraTHEEXPLORA Thank you! I will admit that at least part of my motivation for suggestion number 2 was to try and get another Hermit to ask Gem about her pickle shop. I really want to see her reaction if multiple of the other "builder" hermits start using them for decoration.
Two things about the prismarine shop that you may want to consider: 1. Making it look like it fell from the sky and creating glass waves shooting up from the ocean around it like it just fell into the ocean and is spraying water everywhere. Also it helps to give it character and a story. 🤩 2. I know it's already built, but I thought it would be really really cool if the prismarine shop was like a broken colosseum that was a fifth underwater and had like lights on it and waterfalls pouring around and off the sides. I'd go to a shop like that for sure. 😍
The thing with copper blocks is, sure the trial chambers undermine the value for the Hermitcraft server, but the majority of people aren't playing on the Hermitcraft server. For us normal MC players the trial chambers just make building with copper an actually legitimate option. Sometimes people don't want to spend all day mining raw copper and would rather actually be able to build the thing they want to build.
It doesn't take that long to mine copper. Copper ore gives you a LOT of raw copper even without a Fortune pickaxe, and they tend to come in large veins instead of one or two blocks like iron does sometimes. The real time sink with copper is oxidising it.
I completely get both sides of this issue with trial Chambers copper and honestly if I could fix it so would I make a toggle for none-droppable blocks in structures which would change the status of the block marked affected by it be unable to drop
People do need to realize that RUclipsrs who spend like 8 hours playing/editing/or researching Minecraft everyday for probably 10+ years will have very different ideas as to what the game needs compared to the average player
@@BlueChadKnight well, my response to most of the "this _insert thing_ is overpowered" crew is... Minecraft is a sandbox game. If you think something is overpowered, don't use it. If you think trail chambers have to much copper, don't mine them out, go caving or build a drowned farm. Same with ither issues, trading halls are overpowered, use villagers "naturaly", mending, infinity, totmes, etc. You can play the game the way you like, even if it isn't the most efficient way
As some brainstorming for the Prismarine Palace: Water coming through the glass at some points might look like a nice decoration on the inside, gives some movement to the room and even adds an alternative entrance/exit. Some darker colours hitting the sea level and below might look quite nice. Idk why but I think light blue glass above the water level could improve the structure. A guardian pet would be lovely. Gem did some interesting stuff in the waters around your bases, you might get inspired by that as well. Thats all my ideas right know, I hope I helped in some way :)
Idea for the Prismarine Palace! You could have squid like tentacles in and out of the shop, I know how much you like your narrative so what if the tentacles held up shelves, stocked the store, held up signs outside the shop or held up other smaller shops that are ocean related, following the theming rules you have this season. That way, the building has identify and personality, function for future projects and makes the building look less lonely in the water.
I feel like this isn't being talked about as much, but that segment at the end of Grian just talking while mining a bit was very nice, and kind of calming. I would love to see more of this.
I love the Taskmaster idea. I'm an American, but that is one of my favorite shows. There's also a nice parallel between Grian and Alex Horne where they are both the ones actually setting everything up for the show behind the scenes, but are taking the role as the assistant for the show.
17:11 fun fact, statistically, you have 1 in 3 odds of encountering danger by mining straight down. Meaning 66% of the time you can dig straight down and encounter no damger.
I kind of want Grian to add a few large tenticles coming out of the water to arch over the shop as well as a large seamonster head / mouth surrounding it like the building is being swallowed. Feels like it fits the theme of an underwater temple shop as it would be like an Ancient Guardian is trying to take revenge.
i think the prismarine palace would look rly good with the water from the outside cascading through the glass windows on the side & catching round the edges of the interior, it would also let people through without using an elytra
8:28 One thing I do to break up the water line on half submerged builds is to add jagged rocks and coral or waterlogged bushes. I've also added like little waterfalls to some of the rocks before just to place some water above the water line. I hate that the water in Minecraft is flat and doesn't have any form of movement unless you mess a bit with it, but i find that these little details just add a bit more to the build.
It won't work, but I would find it funny if he made the underwater part bent. Just like a pencil bends at the water entry point depending on which angle you look at it.
The rant about Grian not liking Mojang for their spoiling information is exactly what I think of Minecraft. You’re a man of all the people Grian, you know some of us so well!
Grian, I don’t know how often people thank you for this, but THANK YOU for keeping a truly family-friendly channel. It is appreciated more than you know in our current world climate for kid’s and family entertainment. Our whole family watches your channel, and it’s a relief to know that I just don’t have to worry. The best part is, your channel is one of the most fun, and funny. Proving that keeping it clean, doesn’t take away the ability to have an awesome channel. I say this, because I noticed the note in the corner advising that Taskmaster is not an appropriate show for younger viewers, thank you for taking the time.
Just for anyone interested in Taskmaster - the first few series are censored. As for the later series, the is a Bleeped version of the show on the UK's Channel 4 for those who have access to it. Only the first 11 or 12 series are on RUclips in the UK with all seriea on channel 4. I believe more series are available on RUclips for non UK territories.
i think the palace would look amazing if there was sort of a water ravine around the outside of it, sort of leading outward into the water, like an opposite moat!! with lillypads and coral and other oceany items around it leading inside, and maybe even a ship wreck so it could look like a whirlpool or some other sort of ocean hole like natural disaster :D maybe even some fish around it and custom coral structures, i think a few extra small details like this could really bring it together and make it more blended
While I think the 1.13 Aquatic update was huge for Minecraft I think 1.16 set a good example of what an update can be, that is adding "worldbuilding" with structures and adding life with a few new mobs. Also I do love the trial chambers, as a feature, as an update I myself won't gain a lot from it. Not too little content necessarily but too isolated as it is one (pretty good) structure.
Grian being the equivalent of 'Little' Alex Horn and Cub being the equivalent of Greg Davies, works almost too well it is kind of scary I believe the biggest reason the Prismarine Palace looks weird is that there is no movement in the water, and seaweed, barnacles, etc. are missing from the underwater parts
If you haven't already decorated it, maybe adding some prism like gems made of white, light blue, cyan, or orange glass, floating over the "Prism-arine" shop could add more life to it, maybe even in the future it could open you up to new permits with gems like amethyst or something
The ‘Taskmaster not suitable for younger viewers’ disclosure brought me so much joy because I will never be able to associate the bleeped bits to the Hermits
Hey Grian, for your prismarine shop, id like to suggest at the waterline you lower or remove the windows ABOVE the waterline, and perhaps leave a V shape with the lowest middle point allowing water to flow INTO the shop. Like have a column waterfall. Then catch the water at the bottom and use waterlogged stairs all over the floor. I think that might look cool. Maybe even use waterlogged stairs in a sort of pattern or shape so you can see the image when you exit via windcharge
when will Hermits learn "the Cub way", to keep an Enderchest full of mostly empty shulkers and a silk touch pick in your inventory at all times. It's an infinite backpack.
I imagine some of the more seasoned veterans of hermitcraft don't do this because every two weeks they gotta take a half a day to unpack that sucker once it's full, because they haven't been unpacking it routinely until they have to. Laundry day can be brutal for people who have "the chair"
Grian: “it’s purging time,” My brain: “FOR THE EMPEROR!!!!” If you know, you know. Also I love it how Grian keeps poultry man as part of the lore as a side character and I and I’m sure many others would love to see the man in the chicken costume return.
To improve the look of the palace intersecting with the water surface, you can add some floating leaves and lily pads, and maybe have some vines grow up the side of the building. You can even replace some of the glass with light green glass to simulate algae growth. It'll add some color too!
Honestly, i think that the water build would look nice with a small flair going into the waterline and as for its isolated look, maybe add other surrounding water buildings like an Atlantis temple. That idea could also help with a non-elytra entrace (bridges between buildings)
Grian has officially gone from resisting 2 governments controlling the shopping district, to the right hand man for the government controlling the shopping district. Im shocked at how few rebellious shenanigans he has done this season ngl
The Trial Chamber spawners reset immediately when you've taken ominous potion, and after 30mins anyway, so you can do the same chamber again as many times as you like. It's the vaults that you can only use once each (per player), but as you didn't use any of the ominous vaults in that particular chamber, they'll all still be available to you. I love the Prismarine shop. Totally worth the effort you put in. Looking forward to your version of Taskmaster, even PG. =)
You've watched the show so I am sure you know this, but: Note about the TaskMaster tasks (If you want them to be as 1:1 as possible) 1. Expect contestants to exploit loopholes. 2. Always hide an alternate solution, easier route, or intentional loophole. I've seen tasks where the contestant just doesn't pick up the letter immediately, and that ends up winning them the task. You've gotta be extra prepared for creative solutions here.
9:06 showing waves crashing against the side of the structure using glass would help bring it together. I’ll bet a collab with Scar would be really fun.
seeing grian gush about the sound design for mumbo’s build makes me so happy after watching mumbo build it and seeming so unsure about the sounds he was using
8:04 Grian! I’m no builder or an architectural genius, but I think I have an idea on how to make the Prismerine shop transition into the water smoothly. You should make the part that’s in the water look more moldy somehow. Make it seem like the water rusted some of its color away. My mind went straight to copper but there’s probably better ways to give it that look.
An idea for the prismarine palace to transition into the water : I think some form of wave splash originating from the back that flares out at the front? I can’t quite describe it, but similar to how waves crash against cliff faces. It could add some movement/intensity to the build! Then again I’m 3 days late to the video so who knows what’s already happening

These are some top tire ideas frfr
Those would be AWESOME additions
Do a Scar on it: bring it to life. Put some wooden jetties around the cylinder at water level
I also think these are top “tire” ideas
The only problem with that is that flooding it means no wind charges.

Grian 100% embodying Alex Horne from Task Master as despite being known as “LITTLE ALEX HORNE” he is literally the show runner and makes up all of the tasks

This is exactly what I was thinking
Also solves the issue of people not having / forgetting feather falling or elytra
This video is #2 on trending for gaming 💀
Also , adding coral and seaweed on the outside of the palace, as well as adding shallow water that flows into the palace could be a nice touch.
I was more along the line of including some smaller structures outside the prismarine palace, varying from just some small spires to perhaps a few guardian statues, and then adding a variety of lilly pads and seaweed around to help soften the stark blue color of the water.
I have a few ideas for the prismarine shop :D
-Get rid of a few windows to let the water from the outside flow inside the build and make a moat (maybe even make the water running so you can put boats with some items run around the main shop area if you want to play with redstone).
These are all wonderful ideas
Replying so the chances of Grian seeing this comment increases
These are cool ideas!
These are all very nice ideas, hope he sees this
I forgot to leave the comment on the other video, but I actually like the longer videos with less cuts.
Oohh good idea!!
Grian: trial chambers aren’t fun to watch
Grian’s gameplay: mining copper blocks
i like how Grian's adaptation of Taskmaster is accurate, with Grian coming up with the idea and all the tasks like Alex Horne did and then Cub being the Greg Davies of it, being the face and host of the show
I love it too, except he put the smaller chair on the wrong side. 😅

Just like how I'm subtly avoiding ladies that don't have much back.
@@lubomirkompis9441 wtf
And a sea snail
If the underwater is lit up a bit more, then it could break up the water line on the side of the building.
I think that the main thing holding it back is that there’s a beautiful build and then just… Minecraft water. Like, the water’s just so flat and same almost, you know? The sort of intricate detail on the shape and textures of the build and then BAM flat, blue, Minecraft water.
@@user-kw5jl5wt9f Definitely agree.

There amazing
I think we should all recognize that Grian's helmet trim looks like snail eye stocks when he uses elytra
Grian's slow realization that Tango's shop was killing chickens was great.
You can change the glass that's under the water to green glass in the prismarine shop so it looks like an algae. It could make a nice transition, but you will have to change the under water prismarine for something greener too.
The buildup and tension to Grian saying "It's purging time" was amazing, one of the best moments in cinematic history!
🙄
I like when he said "it's purging time" and he purged all over the place.
...this is the only time this joke actually describes what happened--
I understand WHY we can't always have an hours long trial chambers video, but I would still LIKE an hours long trial chambers video
Idk why, but seeing Grian doing the water build gave my crazy nostalgia of the water base in EVO, and also the ship in the bottle from season 6
Shop suggestions:
1 - Lichen + something to simulate barnacles around the waterline.
I'd like to add on:
6 - vines and lilypads along the waterline to show plants latching on
7 - giant magicky prismarine shard floating above the build for that personality
7.5 - or, instead, trap an elder guardian at the top of the build (might not be so good cuz mining fatigue :/)
8 - smaller spires poking out of the water to integrate with the land a bit better

Thats exactly what I thought when I saw it lol (also you pfp is amazing)
Idea: remove the water around the palace like it’s a giant conduct

Two things about the prismarine shop that you may want to consider:
1. Making it look like it fell from the sky and creating glass waves shooting up from the ocean around it like it just fell into the ocean and is spraying water everywhere. Also it helps to give it character and a story. 🤩
You can play the game the way you like, even if it isn't the most efficient way
The devaluation of the copper permit doesn’t really sound like something mojang should consider no. Lol.

As some brainstorming for the Prismarine Palace:
Water coming through the glass at some points might look like a nice decoration on the inside, gives some movement to the room and even adds an alternative entrance/exit.

Wow, that’s crazy.
Might be stealing Gem's thunder, though.
i think that would probably help the smooth the transition between the water and the building, really cool idea!
cool but as someone said gem literally just did that lol
i think the prismarine palace would look rly good with the water from the outside cascading through the glass windows on the side & catching round the edges of the interior, it would also let people through without using an elytra
Grian:

One thing I do to break up the water line on half submerged builds is to add jagged rocks and coral or waterlogged bushes.
It’s adorable to hear you praising Mumbo so much, I’m sure he’s folding in on himself like origami watching this episode lol

Grian: It's common courtesy to make your shops accessible without flying
Zedeph: [malicious laughter]
real question is how many shops will 'magically' reappear but with a few more permanent blocks
i think the palace would look amazing if there was sort of a water ravine around the outside of it, sort of leading outward into the water, like an opposite moat!! with lillypads and coral and other oceany items around it leading inside, and maybe even a ship wreck so it could look like a whirlpool or some other sort of ocean hole like natural disaster :D maybe even some fish around it and custom coral structures, i think a few extra small details like this could really bring it together and make it more blended
Kinda what I was thinking too :D
While I think the 1.13 Aquatic update was huge for Minecraft I think 1.16 set a good example of what an update can be, that is adding "worldbuilding" with structures and adding life with a few new mobs.
Also I do love the trial chambers, as a feature, as an update I myself won't gain a lot from it. Not too little content necessarily but too isolated as it is one (pretty good) structure.
Who wants to bet Scar will enjoy the prismarine exit so much he'll end up smacking into the ceiling and explode?
Grian being the equivalent of 'Little' Alex Horn and Cub being the equivalent of Greg Davies, works almost too well it is kind of scary
I believe the biggest reason the Prismarine Palace looks weird is that there is no movement in the water, and seaweed, barnacles, etc. are missing from the underwater parts
All grian needs is him iPad/clipboard
It's an infinite backpack.
extra silk touch in the orange emergency shulker
I imagine some of the more seasoned veterans of hermitcraft don't do this because every two weeks they gotta take a half a day to unpack that sucker once it's full, because they haven't been unpacking it routinely until they have to. Laundry day can be brutal for people who have "the chair"

Every time I see “Prismarine Palace” in your titles I get Lizzy’s “In my palace of Prisssssmarine” song in my head! I love it!
I loved when Grian said, “It’s purging time” and then purged all over the shopping district

I love the Prismarine shop. Totally worth the effort you put in. Looking forward to your version of Taskmaster, even PG. =)
You've watched the show so I am sure you know this, but:
Note about the TaskMaster tasks (If you want them to be as 1:1 as possible)
My mind went straight to copper but there’s probably better ways to give it that look.
i was thinking the same thing but using glow lichen as some sort of alge thats growing on it
Maybe adding a slight gradient to show the water staining the windows
3:56 Fun fact: Gast sounds where created by recording cats and then reversing and distorting the audio.
An idea for the prismarine palace to transition into the water :
I think some form of wave splash originating from the back that flares out at the front? I can’t quite describe it, but similar to how waves crash against cliff faces. It could add some movement/intensity to the build!
Then again I’m 3 days late to the video so who knows what’s already happening
