I wanted to comment on here instead of Eva’s video to make sure you two can see it. I am a 23 year old woman with an older Range Rover, a dog, and a thirst for adventure. When I first saw you and your wife on her channel, soemthing truly struck me about you two. I love how you left what was comfortable to you and went for your dreams. I think you make a beautiful pair, and I love how you respect each others space and thoughts while traveling side by side. It is so refreshing to be able to get inspired by amazing people accomplishing something that I dream of doing one day. I cried yesterday watching Eva’s video when I found out you would be going with her on the trip. Something about seeing you two makes everything better. Please, don’t ever stop documenting your travels with your beautiful Landy and wife. All my love to you both. - Maya, Maryland USA
I'm moving from Ontario to Mexico in the next month or two I'm in a wheelchair and I was hoping to bring a small trailer behind my van hopefully it's the same process for a small trailer I plan on getting full citizenship as I'm not planning on ever coming back thank you for your video and tips makes me feel a lot more comfortable trying to make it over
Please update me on how this process went for you with what kind of extra costs involving the tip and mexico car/rv insurance. I'm looking to bring my vehicle and travel trailer as well.
Good info! Just something to add some countries in Central/South America you can't bring a right hand drive vehicle, also I do believe you still need proof the car belongs to you, meaning for US residents we call it a title, so basically you can't be making payments to a bank and you own no money on the vehicle.
Hi, TY for the info, but it would be good to know how you did it online because the entire Banjercito process, no matter where you click, requires your USA or CA passport or Permanent resident, no place for any other country.
Thanks so much for the video. It was very informative. I really like your guy's channel. Love following your journey!! Hope you two continue to love it.

This is probably obvious but my advice is to purchase (if not already owned) a waterproof type of folder in which to store, in one place, all important documents. If you are paranoid keep copies separately and photo images on your phone/s. It might also be useful if a friend could be sent electronic copies for retrieval in an emergency, such as stolen vehicle and or phone. Cheers 👍🏻🙏🦘
I found out that I made a mister doing my TIP. I submitted the wrong car title. I have two Hyundai cars and I submitted the wrong one. In my info that I typed in, I got one car info but I submitted the other card’s title. Do they refund the money? Or the just will take it? Any thoughts?
I will be crossing the border to complete my ‘’ ‘ canje’ process to omplete my temporary residency process: Is this the same TIP’ process i would use? Also, my windshield has several cracks: is that ok? I dont want to put a new one till i get to my final destination in queretaro mexico Thx
Doing this will I have to still pay my registration fee in my country? I was trying to get all the information I could to register my chocolate car in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. The deadline is Dec. 31, 2023. They don't have any appointments available so I'm just checking for other options. My registration has been expired thats why they call them chocolate cars and offer us a way to register our cars in MX.
Hi welcome to México, if you are still in Tijuana I have a safe and new airbnb you are more than welcome to crash here, it’s in playas de Tijuana near the Beach. Think about it!
Hi Francoise. We don’t, but we have always with us a certain number of copies of important documents that we refill anytime we find a copy shop. But at least we usually have what is needed at the border.
When I travel to Mexico I never get the TIP car permit because I stay in the free zone. You only need the car permit if you travel outside the free zone?
We have a world health insurance and we took a car insurance online with Seguro gringo a Mexican company that also insured us in Canada and the USA. But no one at the border asked us for one
Hey, we only did this video for travellers looking to bring their cars, paperwork for yourself will vary greatly from your nationality and we cannot advise on that but you can ask your embassy :)
I always buy Mexican auto insurance in the US before crossing into Mexico. There are offices near the border. Using Tecate as a entry point is an excellent idea. The Tijuana crossing will have thousands of cars, and you have to go through Tijuana, which you should avoid. Traffic scams are common, and a wrong turn can put you in gang territory. That's bad. I've been traveling in Mexico for 40 years. You have to remember corruption is a national sport in Mexico. My buddy Tony Marrow was the youngest detective on the TJ police force, and son of the police chief in the mid 80s. He told me that after work, most detectives took their gun and badge, and went out to make some "side money". After being shot 4 times Tony moved to the US, went through the naturalization process and eventually became an American citizen. He now owns a construction company which contracts to the United States Marine corps to work on cement projects at camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base. No one shoots at him any more😜 Parts of Mexico are beautiful, but the ground can be covered with trash and used baby diapers. I have seen trees completely covered in plastic film bags. Be selective. Mexico can be a very fun place, and once you get away from the border the crime rate drops significantly. You must remember Mexico is not Disneyland. Always keep your eyes open, don't drink alcohol in public it's illegal and opens you up to harassment by the police which may end up with you losing all of your money. It's happened to me. I spent an afternoon in the Ensenada city jail for saying "You can't do that" as my friend was arrested for being drunk at Papa's and Beer in Ensenada. Papa's and Beer is a great bar on the beach with open volleyball pits surrounded by plexiglass wind protectors. Fun place, but remember the security people at Papa's and Beer are off duty policeman always looking for a scam, so be cool and don't over drink. Guadalajara is known in San Diego as Guadalacaca be careful on the mainland. Once you drive off the ferry, you're in The Hunger Games.
We are avoiding areas that are considered to have more cartel activities. So we are not really worried. So far the journey is a dream. And we love that fruits and veggies are so fresh and cheap
@LadyLucy Oh okay. I'm a weather bird and I follow a lot of van travelers, and I looked at Baja Mexico and California and it is showing low 60s days and 40s night. The only place that is very warm in the United States is south Florida upper 70s and low 80s. Also the Caribbean side of Mexico is in the mid 80s every day.
It took a bit of going south to get warm temperatures. But by Baja south we can be in shorts tee shirt during the day and trousers jacket in the evenings.

Ooooh maya your message is so nice. We love it and only can encourage you to go into your own adventures. Lots of love!
Enjoy my birth country😊. There are still some good and honest people there.
So far it has been only good and honest people. We love it
Not some, a lot
I have a salvage title car but the car works and is fixed not planning to sell it in Mexico just to go and come back can I still get a TIP??
I know a few people who have been turned round at Le Paz and had to go all the way back up Baja.
Yes and it is so fast to do at the border we did not feel it was useful delaying it

We only did the migration form online the banjercito we did in person at the border

Great tips. FYI- the Mexicali border is not small. It can also be extremely busy. It was a good decision to go through Tecate.
Good to know! Thank you!

Merci pour les infos. Je pensais que l'obtention d'un visa n'était pas nécessaire pour les français ? Droit à 180 jours de manière automatique.
Oui cela ce fait à la frontière directement.
Hi welcome to México, if you are still in Tijuana I have a safe and new airbnb you are more than welcome to crash here, it’s in playas de Tijuana near the Beach. Think about it!
Thank you Lola! We passed Tijuana already but appreciate the offer!
list your airbnb info please
Thankyou ! appreciated 🤩😎
can i use green card instead of passport?
If I already imported one of my vehicles, can I import a second one?
Interesting, I don’t know 🤷♂️
Hi, wondering if you are carrying a mini printer in your Defender? Thanks for that instructive video
Hi Francoise. We don’t, but we have always with us a certain number of copies of important documents that we refill anytime we find a copy shop. But at least we usually have what is needed at the border.
@@NextMeridianExpedition excellent!
How to import a car from auction like COpart or IAAI to mexico for selling?
When I travel to Mexico I never get the TIP car permit because I stay in the free zone. You only need the car permit if you travel outside the free zone?
Yes exactly !
How do you insure your vehicles?. Do you carry travel insurance?. Thanx!
Hi! We did that in advance online with a company called Seguro gringo.
Thank you!...enjoy your journey 👍
Thank you for this. I have a passport card, not a passport. How different is the paperwork with a card?
Hi My question is about the car insurance. in some videos they require Mexican car insurance? how did you manage it at the border?
We booked it before hand online with Seguro gringo
At what moment in the process you have to have insurance for the car and for liability?
We did that in advance online. We used Seguro gringo
Can you get the permit without a passport? Maybe just birth certificate
Hmmm, doubt it.
Do you need any kind of insurance???
We have a world health insurance and we took a car insurance online with Seguro gringo a Mexican company that also insured us in Canada and the USA. But no one at the border asked us for one
And the insurance? How can buy? Tks
We bought it online from Seguro Gringo before crossing the border!
How Much time do they give you on the TIP before the car has to leave the country?
It is linked to your migration document that you bring to the office to do the TIP. So in our case : 180 days. Which is the time on our visa.
@@NextMeridianExpedition
Can you extend tip for additional 6 months if your visa is extended for 6 months?
Basic border run ?
Make a video explaining how to do the permanent not the tip please
We’ve never done permanent so don’t know how.
What happens if you can’t make it to your car or boarder because it’s too dangerous ?
Is this posible to return anywhere in the states? Anybody?
Do you need to show proof of Mexican citizenship to bring in a car from Los Angeles?
No I don’t so, you show just the passport you want and get into Mexico with your car. You may need to still do the TIP.
Do I need a passport? I don’t have it and I need to travel … I only have the certificate of naturalization. Help me out please.
Hey, we only did this video for travellers looking to bring their cars, paperwork for yourself will vary greatly from your nationality and we cannot advise on that but you can ask your embassy :)
Can i get the permit at any time? Is it a 24/7
You can check the border timings it depends from border to border

I guess we will discover all of that!
If you are financing you vehicle you need a letter from the finance company approving your travel
Interesting, didn't know.
"France defeats Morocco in World Cup semifinal"
Booom ! We watched that from a beach in Baja hahahaahha Sunday is the finale!!!!
Are you afraid of the drug cartels? Have you had any problems? Fruits and vegetables are cheap in Mexico.
We are avoiding areas that are considered to have more cartel activities. So we are not really worried. So far the journey is a dream. And we love that fruits and veggies are so fresh and cheap
I'm surprised it's warm enough for shorts.
@LadyLucy The weather says it's only in the 60s in Baja Mexico.
@LadyLucy I believe you but the weather on the internet says it's in the low 60s for the highs in Baja
