My favorite one liner from the opening kill was when he asked “what’s your favorite scary movie.” And she says “not that one”
😂😂😂 hilarious
Took me out ! Lol
N when ghostface said “Fuck the movies!” I was like oh he’s pissed 😅
YESSSS!!!! 😅
Yeah but she knew it enough to know what movie he was referring to, so she should have not been stupid since she teaches bout slashers, and maybe not leave rhe restaurant lol. Tell him to GPS it
Two ghost faces on screen at the same time was iconic. Loved it.
Exactly when they both came out I was like HOLY SHIT!!!!
Both wiping their knives off at the same time was the cherry on top
@Homegrown Homie I loved that part!! I was like holy crap. Talk about a family line of killer instinct
@@StonayBalogna Right before the reveal! I've wanted that ever since Scream 2 and they finally gave that to me! Pretty sure I came on the seats 🤣🤣🤣
@@homegrownhomie4179 YES!!! Gave me good chills!
The way sam disrespected richie in front of his family had me lmao
Called him limp dick little bitch had me dyiiiing🥴
He told them he was a man baby and cry before she slit his throat
It was hilarious 😂 love
“He was a man baby who made his girlfriend do all the killing” I loved it 😭
Quinn :Shut the fuk up!!! Tara smacks her and the face with a brick badass scene
I laughed so hard at the “can I put you on hold” then ghost face shockingly goes “huh?”. Reminded me of when Masada was waiting to hashirama in the 4 war. Hashirama shoes us and says “I’ll deal with you later” and madara is just confused as can be.
😂😂 haha yeah that huh? Got me laughing
@@pleaseshutup7053IT WAS SO FUNNY LMAO it reminded me of when Sydney was on the phone with ghostface and she goes “I’m bored” and he’s like WAIT
This was absoultely the best moment. lmao
I laughed out loud several times during this movie but yes omg so funny
Loved that!
I loved the parallels between scream 2 and this movie.
1. The omega beta zeta line.
2. Cici and Anika falling to their deaths.
3. Gale’s chase scenes.
4. The 3rd acts in a theatre.
5. Maureen and Mindy getting attacked in public.
6. The killer and motivations.
7. Dewey’s theme.
8. The Randy and van reference.
9. The film class reference.
10. The fact that the survivors are in college now.
I noticed that too. Good catch on the Easter eggs
It's the sequel to the "re-quel".
There’s even references to the 4th movie with Kirby being revived in this one. Danny watching from the other apartment definitely gave Jill and Kirby watching from her room vibes
You know, personally, that annoyed me, it felt very cheap compared to Scream 2... I'm ok with the vengence take, but 3 reveals felt like too much... I had already hated Mickey's reason back then and I didn't like the roomate reveal this time...
Also chad being wheeled out alive at the end just like Dewey in 2
Loved when Gale said " can I put you on hold " literally I laughed at that scene but the whole theater was silent like come on lmao
Naw they were just boring in there because mostly everyone was laughing when I went to see it lol I know I laughed a lot in this movie
I chuckled at that part but I didn’t hear anyone else laugh
Same!!
Loved that they said about Stu being possibly alive. "If he's even really dead."
I almost peed myself
Hell yeah!
Loved it till however I realized that the characters discussing it are essentially randy(audience fill in)(it kinda took away my hopes for a stu return)
It was great butttttt
Under his pic it says death 1996 on the board with kirby
They had a huge question mark on a post it by the 1996 though. Stu was the only one that had this next to his “death date”
That Gale scene was BADASS. She literally told Ghostface she's putting him on hold. What a savage!
And I also think the movie played with the audience's expectations there, as everything that led up to that scene (the fact that they killed Dewey, the marketing for the movie, everything that took place before that) made us believe that Gale's time has come
I believed it was gonna be it for her for sure. That whole scene and the dialogue, how can that Ghost face dialogue be topped when her moment finally does come? We'll have to see.
Tbh it wouldn’t make sense if they killed her without Sidney there
@@boocam8816 it could, cause Gale's death could be impactful enough to bring Sidney back into the picture. At this point that probably won't be a thing, so all I can think of at this point is Stu returning, which would be personal motivation enough for Sid to risk her happy ending and come back.
@@theoneders2056 I mean yes but I would like it if Sidney was there to see gale die because she would at least get an interaction with her
💯
The one-liner "Do you feel like an animal now?" or something like that was badass af
Roger Jackson was fucking excellent in this. His best performance out of the 6 for sure
Loved the film! I’m glad they handled Sidney’s absence so professionally. Gale’s chase was the highlight of the film for me🔥
Same. I was literally only outa my seat, blood pumping, heart racing, hands covering my eyes and being vocal during her and ghostfaces scene! And the audience was as well. It was great that we all bonded over this scene in a way lmao.
The gale chase was great but the liquor store apartment home invasion scene and subway scene were my favorites.
The only enjoyable part. Also the wha? from Ghostface when she told them to hold on & put them on hold was actually funny. It made everyone laugh.
Until she left the safety of a one entry room to go out into a room with a million different ways Ghostface could come at her. Yeah a 30 year survivor would make that mistake
Same
I didn't think Sam would be Ghostface, but I also kept saying there's no way she could have stabbed someone 22 times and NOT enjoyed it. Tara seems like she might have a little psycho in her too. It was nice to see more of Tara's personality in this one after healing from her wounds. I noticed there was a HUGE discrepancy with some ages, which is nothing new. I kinda hate how Gale turned out, but it makes sense given Dewey's fate in 5. I juat have so many thoughts about this movie and I loved it. Scream has never let me down. And I'm enjoying reading everyone's comments. :) Also, Sam stabbed Detective Bailey 32 times which is 10 more stabs than Richie got, if y'all were wondering. :)
When I saw Chad was still alive, my first reaction was “Oh, come on!” Followed by “wait, thank god!!”
Chad deserved to live he was putting hands on ghostface
@@pleaseshutup7053 I agree, Chad is one of my favorite characters from the seeies
Well I personally feel like they should've killed him off, his character was alot better in this movie compared to S5 but having his survive that was such a cheap cop out
I would've hated more if I didn't notice all the Scream 2 callbacks and realized not killing the Meeks twins when they both 100% should have died was a nod to how killing Randy was a mistake.
I’ll admit I yelled bull crap when I saw him live, especially taking all them stabs too the chest
That brick that Quinn took to the mouth to start the end fight was pretty insane. We might have finally gotten those super human ghostfaces randy warned about lol
I would have ran to the goddamn dentist
@@WeWatchedAMovie 🤣🤣🤣
omg yes she jus got back up n spit em out like it was nun 😭 my fave out duh trio 🫶🏼
This movie definitely made me care about "The Core Four" NOW I LOVE THEM ALL!
Sorry. The core fucking 4. Thank you
OMG, AmI the only person that actually HATED that? It is SOOOOOOOO pointed out and dragged on and nobody dies and it feels cheap... but, apparently, JUST for me...
@@ninaamaral4434 yep only you. LOL!
@@B1Kobe0824 Nope, it was as cringe as "evil dies tonight" in "Halloween Kills." It also told us in advance that none of them were going to die, which three out of the four should have considering their wounds.
@@B1Kobe0824 I think it really is....
I loved when they mentioned Stu and said, “if he’s even really dead.”
On that note, IF they will in fact bring Stu back I think it would be a badass storyline to have him execute his return/revenge in 2026, on the 30th anniversary of the original Ghostface attacks. Also, there was 3 years between Scream 2 and Scream 3. So having a 3 year gap between 6 and 7 would be a cool thing. But imagine a scene, on the 30th anniversary of the OG Woodsboro murders, having Stu reveal himself as Ghostface and then Billy Loomis appears in Sam’s psyche. Having both of them talking to her at the same time.
Thats sick. I wouldn't be surpised if that happens she finally snaps and joins stu
Love this idea!!!
Cool idea, minus the ghost billy talking crap. I personally think they need to stop that already cause it's getting sillier.
Loved when mindy and Kirby were talking about Stu’s tv and mindy was all “if you believe he’s dead”
@@talksick508 Doesn’t mean anything
@@AngryGranda-900 yea I kno
Just saying what it said
But it is possible he is on the run in hiding and they said he’s dead because they can’t find him
Yes, and Mindy represents all the fans who dream about this nonsense, but it states that he's dead, and it's kinda funny the Stu fans seem to have ignored that Ethan's final blow was a TV to this head. Not just a TV, but THE TV. It's clearly a message that he's dead and the story is moving forward, especially now that things worked so well with VI and the core four.
@@renanyt I’ll laugh my ass of if Stu brought back in 7. Don’t delete this comment 🤓
I feel like Mindy and Kirby could have a thing of their own, if Kirby swings that way. I love both of these characters either way though. ❤
Not enough people are talking about the BRILLIANCE of the opening where we KNOW the killer right from the beginning… only for him to be killed by a different ghostface. Just incredible and soooo different from every other opening. It looked like it was about to be a whole different movie.
I loved that too. That really made it next level for me
I agree. I think every scream since the first has continued to have inventive openings. Scream 2 was totally left field when it came out. 3 same with 3 when cotton died. 4 was shit but still something I didn’t excpect. 5 is the only opening that was too familiar
Oh that's what I'm gonna remember the most from this movie.
How was that brilliant? I swear, if you dangle a string in front of Scream fanboys you’ll keep them entertained for days.
Great movie!! It's weird to me that nobody seems to be pointing out the very obvious parallels to Scream 2... the killers' motive (family revenge), as well as the fact that the 3rd act takes place in a theatre. I wonder if Scream 7 will have any parallels to Scream 3.
I thought the same thing! I was like wait didnt they do this before?
Also Chad surviving a brutal stabbing.
Similar to Dewey surviving the stabbing in the studio, then begin revealed as alive at the end.
Watch Sam have some goofy illegitimate sister or some shit
Also they referenced SMG’s sorority from Scream 2, Omega Beta Zeta. Apparently Blackmore has a chapter.
They also have a Meeks getting stabbed in a public place with nobody noticing.
Fortunately once again Mindy has learned from her uncle's mistakes and did not die.
Kirby’s face when they bring up Stu spoke volumes. It felt like she was about to say “welllll about that”
I think it's ok to miss Neve, but be happy for Sidney and how her story has a happy ending. I honestly hope they leave Sidney out going forward unless they have a REALLY well written reason for her to be included.
Agreed. The legacy characters' inclusion is cute, but they aren't needed anymore. The franchise has been rebooted
*Sidney
I hope Gale doesn’t come out for the next one because I don’t want her to die
@@TheRealBGregz fixed. Thanks!
GF targets her kids that’s a great way to bring her back
Honestly even though it wasn’t a ghostface cult, it’s still worth contemplating the fact that two different ghostface groups were after Sam and Tara. So who says there can’t be more. We literally had FIVE ghostface killers this movie counting the two in the beginning. INSANE.
Two of my favorite one liners were in the beginning when ghostface says "Who gives a Fuck about Movies" and when Mindy says "Fuck this franchise". Sam slayed in this movie, dont eff with a Loomis!
Dr or not.
@@DrSuess360 lol yes
I think they’re hinting at Sam being the killer because of the way she told her therapist killing felt right
@Ariel Perez they won't do that. They already tried it twice and they don't have the balls to kill the main characters or make Sam a killer.
@@arielperez3613 maybe Sam turns out to be the killer in 7 but then has a change of heart at the end of the movie? could be cool
Knife in the mouth with Ethan was def a call back to Psycho II with Lila Crane's death! Epic scene!
Plus kirby and mindy were talking about Psycho II earlier on in the film.
@@petersfilmstudios24 True! :)
Dude that kill was amazing
And when she smirked while doing it I was like yuppp she has some Sam in her lol
Quinn one of my favorite Ghostaces. She looked crazy af. Tara & Chad were CUTE AF. SOOO glad Chad made it.
I feel like the Chad/Tara wasn't necessary for the plot but I gotta admit it was cute to see them together!
I’m confused how he survived 💀
Love how there was basically 5 killers in this movie 😂
Honestly tho that’s like a little detail I did forget that other than Samara’s character the two other guys were ghostface killers. So we did technically have 5 killers which I never thought would happen.
Who were the other two?
@@BrandonJames2016 yeah fr , they would have been the Ghostfaces of the movie if they hadn’t been killed by the other Ghostfaces , One ghostface we saw dismembered in a fridge and that’s the only thing we saw of him , poor Greg , we now have a ghostface officially worse than Charlie😂
@@rileytipper5110 yeah by all accounts he is the worse cause we never see him in action💀 but I mean hey he has the best death of a ghostface killer got cut into pieces😂
@@madizzle90 the guys in the opening
Chad was a beast for taking those stabs nearest the end 🔥
Also sam as ghostface was sick too
Hells yeah
the Ghostface twins double tapping him and then synchronized knife wipes was cool af.
I'm such a B**** I cried a few tears as they stabbed Chad. They really fleshed the core 4 out this time and I love them all.
@@zackakers9855 Diversity had nothing to do with it... the Scream franchise always has hesitated to kill major characters.
@@zackakers9855 it’s a movie? You know, entertainment? The same shit happened to Dewey two movies in a row. And whoever said everyone has to die all the time..but you’re right he’s black so that means nothing can stop him. 🙄
I still don't know how Quinn managed to do all that stuff in Gale's place, just like Amber killing Dewey after all the killers he faced and survived... it just doesn't really add up or make sense. Also Stu has to be coming right? I mean that poster hinted at something about Stu...
I agree with the Quinn one but Amber killing Dewey makes sense. He’s an older man in bad shape, lot’s of nerve damage, got distracted so she had the upper hand and the stab she gave him was a fatal one. There was no way he was surviving that. She had luck on her side tbh. If that’s what ur getting at
@The Beast jus admit yhu’re sexist n dont believe us females are capable of doin physical labor 😒
I also went alone and I am willing to go over and over again lol except I'm a woman and as the first person in the theater I wondered if I was about to be the opening scene myself.
I gave it a 8.7/10
Lmfao I saw it for the third time yesterday, alone, and I did find myself looking behind me once or twice since I was the only one in the theater 😂
@bel pop I couldn't control my laughter! It was tense but fun. I was looking at the projection room a lot and the curtains along the side of the aisles. I had the best seat in the house, absolute dead center. It would've been quite the chase scene. Hahahahha.
@bel pop glad to have shared the experience with you, in some way! 😂
I know they wanted the killers to be connected to Sam through Richie but if they had made these killers related to Amber, it would've been more interesting imo, because it would explain with a little more cohesiveness or synergy why they bought Stu's house in Scream 5, fueling the Stab obsession, and then built the shrine.
Listen asian ghostfaces are too good, if Amber's family did it, they're wouldn't be any bodies to bury
The killer should have been Kirby I was so ready for that plot twist my jaw was on the floor with shock
I don't see how Amber would have made sense. Richie was the obvious lead between the 2 of them in 5. That's probably why they went with Richie.
@@bayerhead I'm just saying that her family bought Stu's house and an obsession with the Ghostface killings would've made sense with that foundation. It's just my opinion though. It worked with Richie as well.
Or both families got together to take out Sam
Mike, did you hear the “evil dies tonight” chant as they were getting on the subway??? Lol too funny
Can we point out how ghostface was leaving a mask after every killing at first and that’s exactly what Tara did at the end. She dropped the mask after “her” killing.
I love how this movie is a Scream 2 redux! And Mrs. Loomis's gear was used by Ethan. It was simple revenge, just like Scream 2. And S2 is my favorite of the franchise..this movie is my 2nd favorite
I could not even eat the popcorn I purchased because I was on the edge of my seat from the very start. I am so happy with what we got. A truly fantastic addition to the Scream Franchise in my opinion. My only negative was I do think some more people should not have made it out alive but it does not ruin it for me at all.
The opening, the setting, the core 4, the scares, the use of the masks, and Kirby! All deserve a chefs kiss, but the moment I realized I already love this movie was when Gale and Ghostface were battling it out, I was terrified to look away. And when GF picked up that shard of glass and got her with it real good, everyone in my theater let out a collective gasp. And then the line "tell Sidney he never got me" actually had me holding back tears. What a good fuckin time to be a Scream fan. Hats off to the cast and crew.
This is facts ghostface just kept appearing I was like omg shaking the whole time it felt like every scene he was in
Still thinking about that opening 2 days later. I was Shook
I was shocked and wished it lasted alittle longer. Imagine ghostface killer through his perspective and you see him undressing with his partner really fast to join Sam and her sister like he had no idea what happened. Like a behind the scenes with ghost face..lol
That opening was great.
I know Stu wasn’t showed to be alive in this movie, but here’s why I say he is. The scene with Gale seemed personal. If you really look at that interaction in retrospect, Stu is LITERALLY the only Ghost face to really have a beef with Gale. Second reason is because in the shrine They even said “if Stu is even dead” or something like that. And 3rd, think about how mad and flabbergasted Ghost face was behind the reason why Jason killed his professor. If you’re the original of anything the one thing you hate is a copy cat which is why I think ghost face said “who gives a fuck about movies”. Richie’s dad cares about his movies, even his siblings. Why that line?? And finally, Ethan or Quin ARENT PICKING PEOPLE UP AND THROWING THEM LIKE RAG DOLLS. From Gales bf, to Jason being pinned to the fridge, to Mindy’s girlfriend. Ethan forsure. So best believe Stu is more than likely returning if they’re following the original trilogy
I love the community you created. I go to the movies alone since no one I know likes horror movies. This channel makes me feel less alone. Scream 6 was imo the best since the original! I personally found the opening kill underwhelming, but still very original. I love Samara so I wish they have given her a cool chase scene.
That's just the fuckin coolest. I feel you Jess! I go alone too! But never really thanks to you folks
I’m going to my screening alone! We are here with you
I get you -- about the community. I love this channel so much that I'm bummed if I check into RUclips and there's no new video. Like dammit, C'mon Mike. Get it up! (Content, that is) 😀
Just got back from seeing it alone. We are not alone🎉
I'm 50 and I saw it alone just a few hours ago. I am new to this channel but have fallen in love with this channel because the dude's hilarious and not a prude when it comes to plot holes. I was a little angry about the plot hole of no one knowing that the detective was the father of Sam's boyfriend. He doesn't have photos of his family in his desk or something? But, like the review, the brutality of the kills traumatized me. It wasn't the Scream I grew up on. And that's why I loved it. Sure stabby McStab stabs on the stomachs are now flesh wounds for these Gen Zs, but dammit those knife stabs were too brutal for me. Not to say that I hated it, but it definitely upped the ante of Ghostface... My prediction for Scream 7 is that these will be an army of clever Ghostfaces who are huge horror fans but are also familiar with self-defense. And their motive? To convince Sam to become the ultimate Ghostface...
I laughed alot more then I thought I would in this movie. Sam tazing that dude in the balls and Gail dodging sam's punch only to get punched by Terra were the funniest parts
That subway scene was way better than the subway fight in John Wick 2.
I hope Sidney takes a few movies off until like Scream 10 when we have a classic opener like Scream 1, but then the parents come home to find their kid dead and *big reveal* it's Sidney and Mark and we're like "Nooooo!!" and then Sidney goes full Sarah Connor with like a tank.
The setup for 7 could not be better in my opinion. We have now shown that Tara is the only thing keeping Sam from following her daddy's path, so if she gets killed, a showdown with Sydney would be rather poetic. How crazy would it be to have the opening kill of 7 be Tara and Sam having to deal with what would be unhinged turmoil. Either way, great stuff from this one and awesome review as usual.
And don’t forget they never revealed Mickeys mask which I hope they show in scream 7
I would love if they did this
That could be fun but id hate for tara to die bc she’s my fav lol
I love this film and its so bad ass that technically we had 5 Ghostface in this one.
I love that!
Yes man some people are saying 3 I don’t get it the opening was so good the triple kill
I feel like it would have been so cool if the two boys weren’t killed right away and it would have almost been this fight to see who would kill Sam and Tara first. I think it would have been so cool knowing who one person is right away and then guessing at who the other rival ghost face would be
@@brookemoloney5488 Hell yeah I'd see that movie in a heartbeat.
@@Dumpsterfiremedia1 even if it was only the one who killed the teacher I think it would have been awesome to see him kind of infiltrate the friend group and know that he wants to kill Sam and Tara but you’re also seeing him try to figure out who the other person trying to kill them is
I said it after watching scream 5 and I’ll say it again, Chad is the Dewey of the new cast. I knew the second he got stabbed by two ghost faces that he was gonna pop up at the end just like he had in 5 and just like Dewey did in both films. Lots of nods to scream 2 in this without being as heavy handed as 5 was.
Exactly what I’m thinking
I do think stu is alive after seeing 6! They hinted at it way too much. The post it with a question mark next to his 1996 “death date”, the “if you believe he’s really dead” line from Mindy.
My theory is stu killed Dewey in scream 5 and also was the one who went after gale in scream 6. I know movie logic isnt realistic, but Amber would have had to been the one to kill Dewey in 5 and I don’t find that plausible or realistic, even by movie standards. And then the Ghostface who went after gale in 6 was pretty graphic and specific when describing Dewey’s death. So unless Amber described to Ritchie how Dewey died(Richie was in the elevator with Sam and Tara when Dewey was killed and didn’t see his death) and Richie then called his family to tell them specifics, I don’t find it plausible how Ghostface knew that much about Dewey’s death in order to taunt Gale. But again, movie logic. Plus the Ghostface who went after Gale would have had to been either Ethan or Quinn, both of which were small framed and wouldn’t have been able to hold their own against Gale’s muscular boyfriend-again movie logic I know I know. Not to mention that none of the Bailey family really had a reason to go after Gale, even she says so. And the “I can’t believe after all this time we are just now finally talking on the phone” line and the “nostalgia” line when Gale asks why ghost face is coming after her just rang as Stu to me.
I think it would be cool if they ever did decided to bring Matthew Lillard back as stu and it’s revealed he was the one who killed Dewey, went after Gale, and had been stalking Sidney this entire time. They could even use Matthew Lillard’s cameo in 2 as a flashback to show he’s been lurking around this entire time And has been the catalyst for all the Ghostface killings. If you pay attention, in Matthew Lillards cameo in scream 2, he hugs Mickey while at the party. They could use that to retcon things as well and maybe even explain that stu was the one who actually killed Randy. That would be something!!
I wonder if Kevin Williamson or the Scream 6 writers came up with the family revenge mystery killers first since Kevin used it in his movie Sick as well just a couple months ago.
Well Kevin also used it when he wrote Scream 2 forever ago lol so I’d say yes
@@scaredy-cat2215 So did the writer of Friday the 13th with Mrs. Voorhees, but these movies came out within months of each other and involved whole families and both involved Kevin Williamson, which is why I mentioned it.
This comment is before I finished your video so you may comment on these in the video before I got there so here we go!
Roger Jackson is the best. I honestly feel he's underrated, he doesn't do the voice of Ghostface. He's the voice of multiple killers, each one has their own mannerisms and way of speaking. If you rewatch all the movies you can tell when he's stu, Billy, Nancy, mickey, Roman, Jill, Charlie, Ritchie and Amber. I'll have to watch it a few more times to figure out exactly who each Ghostface is.
SAM WAS AMAZING THIS TIME AROUND. She absolutely killed it this time around.
My only critique would have been to keep the third killer (the detective) unmasked and let him escape. Let the characters realize there is indeed a 3rd killer, but leave the detective unkilled to make a manhunt for the 7th movie. THEN in 7 let the cult of Ghostface step up to try to take out our survivors. Show us the core 4, Gayle, Kirby, and sydney all being attacked across the country simultaneously. Our survivors all easily defeat their attackers, lose a couple people, like the twins mom, mark Kincaid, etc. All the survivors reunite while still being attacked by more random Ghostface killers. Probably lose a couple of the survivors, but eventually let Sam and Sydney take on detective Ghostface.
"Die a virgin" garnered up a round of applause in the theater I went to. 😂
I think it would be interesting if in scream 7, a single ghostface is revealed to be inspired by events they read in a gale weathers book
I have a feeling Sam thought the third Ghostface was Mindy because she boarded the train with Ethan and they didn't hear from each other until the ambulance.
She did. Right before the third female Ghostface revealed (I forgot her name), Sam said, "Mindy...?"
I’m Ok with Quinn’s fake death because I actually did think to myself “why is this happening off screen? They’re showing every other death why not this one” but it is a plot hole that the neighbor got a picture of her getting killed when they didn’t happen.
The only real knock I had about the movie was the believability issue that we've been brought up like in 5. Ghostface was eating hay makers from Chad at one point and was unfazed and then when its revealed to be Ethan and Quin like either of them wouldn't be a 1 punch KO with how scrawny they are compared to him. And yea, gut stabs seem to be just a flesh wound to everyone not named Kirby. That synchronized knife clean by the Ghostfaces reminds me of when you and a friend play against each other in Mortal Kombat/ Street Fighter/ Tekken and you both choose the same character. I do feel like Gale should've died though that way if the studio works things out with Nev it would provide the perfect reason for her character to want to come out of hiding or if they don't it provides a way to write right her off completely.
I’m upset that a few things from the previews didn’t show in the movie that I was waiting for which may just wait until it comes to the apps or Blu-ray. The movie theater scene, the time gf was in the police car, and some of the stuff they said were cut out
Loved how the detective was playing his sons films on the projector. Reminds me of me when I was a kid and making little films. I loved how he had built a whole collection for his kid. I loved how two kids in New York wanted to finish Richies movie. It just makes Richie a better and more legendary killer in my opinion. Loved hearing your thoughts Mike!
Except Amber did all his dirty work lmaoo
@@WElppp I think Amber was an awesome killer. She's a really boring character until she came out of the killer and in from that moment or she stole a movie from me.
@@filthy0819 Jill will still be my fave girl killer. They were both unhinged and campy but Jill’s reveal had more impact
@@WElppp Jill's probably the most surprising reveal and was really good. He has signaled. They were both crazy but in different ways. I think Jill was more calculated and thought out where's Amber. Was just batshit crazy
What’s crazy is Richie is actually killing people in his “home movie” they were playing at the theatre. Creepy shit.
they just need to bring in Kevin williamson to write some actual good dialogue motives and murder mystery
Now Mr. Larkin, you should know better than to be so “low IQ.”
Yeah the 3D isn't necessary just a little touch of immersion, I also got to see it with the shaking seats, the scene with Ghostface slamming against the door with the dresser on the other side was insane because it felt like I was holding the door
I honestly loved this new one, it’s my first Scream film in theaters, love the characters the story, I was sorta nervous about the reveal of the killers because of reviews but I thought it was fine, definitely love the opening kill.
So glad you enjoyed your first in theater scream!
Dante Carpenter I agree it was also my 1st scream film in theaters I was on the edge of my seat the movie definitely lived up to the hype!
@@jillrowlandmaner809 Me too I was so hyped through the movie, I cheered at the beginning when Ghostface said “who gives a fuck about movies”, the movie was great
I think the McKenzie family was probably killed by Jason or his roommate or someone else who was doing the same as Jason. The opening kind of confirms that we're not limited to just the main three killers.
I feel like they’ll call back to that in 7 - just like they called back to Kirby with a small avatar on a screen saying she lived (in 5) to set up for her return in 6.
Na because if you listen to what he says when he answers his room mate. He said sorry I got blue balls and had to go practice or something like before they tried to kill Sam. But it is a big mystery
@@georgeviveros2220 I agree; I don't think the roommates killed the McKenzies. They don't put things like that in the movie unless it means something later though -- so I'm wondering if it's not like what @wewatchedamovie said -- where there's several GF still running around under the direction of Stu. (Hoping that gets addressed in 7, when they reveal the whole "cult" aspect.)
Saw SCREAM VI last night, and I liked it for what it was - a good sequel. I thought last year's SCREAM was alright after a ten year hiatus. This one was much better, so I am looking forward to SCREAM VII.
I saw stu in the subway, was wearing a hat . Someone mentioned they saw it too.
Can somebody agree that the sister rolling up to chad after being stabbed in the stomach was so unnecessary and also the fact that if you get stabbed in the stomach, you’re hospital bound and if you’re getting out you’re crawling on the floor for the next couple weeks. Sorry but that’s unrealistic. They really did well with creating tension. Tension is so hard to pull off especially in horror movies but when you execute it and it pays off, it’s really done well
Loved the movie, this movie really made me like Sam so much as a final girl, she has the best backstory and I’m happy that they are moving past Sidney at this point. She’s become one of my top final girls. I also love Chad, basically the new Dewey that apparently can’t be killed lol. The only bigger critique I have is the fact that they had a couple of chances to finish off the killers and they kept just running away. Btw the Stu maybe being alive comment by Mindy 👀
Sam definitely gonna be a killer on the next movie
I've always loved Sam.
Just finished the movie, and i can’t decide if this is a plot hole or a set up for the next movie, but that apartment scene had an interesting element that not too many people are pointing out. they said at the end that they faked Quinn’s death in her room before she got tossed out the door onto everyone, but my problem is that Danny was watching through the window into Quinn’s room the whole time. how did he not see her fake her death if he was watching through the window the whole time? was this a plot hole, or is he in on it?
I say plot hole. I can't see him working as Ghostface
I was secretly hoping they’d use the Cult of Ghostface idea. When Sam and Tara got cornered, I was expecting more killers to show up.
I almost jumped out of my chair in excitement lol
@@WeWatchedAMovie Right?? Even at the beginning when the film students were revealed to be planning something, I was hoping that was where the story was headed. I'm impressed either way though.
Also, Mike... what did you think about the lame ass title card? It shouldn't bother as much as it does, but how did they not include the SCREA|VI logo from the posters and trailers??? They just slapped a big ass Stranger Things style number behind it🤣🤣
🤣
@@WeWatchedAMovie Feels like they kept teasing that carrot of a Ghostface cult.
They teased us a lot with Stu on this, I’ll say. Even with that drop of that mask at the end made me think of Stu, being that it was old school. They wanted us to marinade from the trailer over gf saying to gale “we’ve never talked on the phone before”. I think they are setting it up for the cult idea for 7. Also- I’m still thinking he’s sometimes hands on with these kills. Let me believe that one. 😂 Where else could they go, other than there? I’m ready for it. 🍿
I think they're either hardcore trolling/misdirecting or setting up 7 for Stu. 1. Mindy reference if you believe he's dead and Kirby shrugs 2. Quinn living and her dad saying amazing what you can do with prosthetics, switching out the body and blood 3. TV had no blood on it and 4 tv fell on Ethan and he didn't die, died by Tara's stabbing him in the mouth afterwards if I remember correctly.
I don't think all of those clues are coincidences. So either trolling/misdirection for 7 or setting it up.
I mean they trolled us in the post-credit scene 😂
@@texanhoneybee They did - ha! Yes, I loved every minute of the Stu references and the writers know what fans want. One quick search on social media and they can see the buzz has been on for YEARS on Stu Theories. I would cry happy tears if they brought him back. I mean, I yelled "Skeeeeet!" on Thursday, giddy that HE was back on for a blip. What a cool impact Stu had on the franchise, when you think about it. The man was in ONE of the 6 movies and the fans have been chatty over it ever since. Gotta love Matthew Lillard 😀
Get it up baby
@@texanhoneybee How did Ethan not die? I think the whole reason they used the tv to kill Ethan was to show people that Stu died.
Bringing Stu back would be incredibly dumb. So I REALLY hope these filmmakers are smart enough not to do that.
@Joker JAK He died by Tara stabbing in the mouth him in the mouth and twisted after she fell from Sam's grip. I'm good whatever happens 🤷🏼♀️ I am very aware of your opinion on this subject since you have made your thoughts well known to me before. I understand that you may have concerns about the idea of bringing back Stu in a film. However, it's important to keep an open mind and consider the potential creative direction that the filmmakers might take. It's possible that they have a unique and compelling vision for the character that could make for an interesting addition to the story. Additionally, it's important to remember that film is an art form and there is often value in taking risks and trying new things. So while I understand your skepticism, I would encourage you to reserve judgment until you have seen the final product.
What made me bust out laughing was the Gale scene whenever Ghostface casually says, “Sorry about your boyfriend.” 🤣🤣
and gale seemed to give zero fuck about it too lol
the way she said "can i put you on hold" to gf was hilarious too
That was one of the few moments I actually liked. The way Ghostface says “All those muscles didn’t help him” and Gale just casually goes “They sure didn’t…”
@@TheRealBGregz they sure didn’t (it was her dead staring at him that took me OUT)
The way he mentions the muscles not helping and gale casually saying “they sure didn’t” completely deadpan. 💀
Also did anyone else notice when he seen his friend in the fridge it reminded me of Friday the 13 part 2 opening scene
I fell in love with Chad and Mindy. I'm so glad they survived! I saw it in 4DX. Water spattered my face each time someone got stabbed. it was a blast!
I freaking loved this. They tried a couple new things and they were awesome. The fact that they revealed a killer in the opening was great, then the killer gets killed by another killer was sum that hasn’t been done much. I’m also really glad that there was more than 3 killers. There was basically 5 and the fact that the killers was a whole damn family made it even better
I suspected the cop as soon as the therapist was killed and Sam's file was swiped. Especially seeing how she just got done telling him that she was at her Dr's for a therapy session
It was the shotgun for me. He handled that shit too well
It’s tough to pick my favorite moment of the movie but my wtf moment was the ladder scene death 💀💀
Dude that had me freaking out
They really fucked mindys girl upppp I was sad, they had to keep Chad alive so Tara could get some dick tho lmaoooo
The end with Sam in full ghost face mode is fantastic!
When the cops phone rang I was like oh baby here it comes and she went chop socky on him.
I also love how Tara's presence snaps Sam back only for Tara to give her the okay to finish him off, and its like a little switch flips back on and she jams that knife in his eye. Sooo fuggin good.
Core 4? More like Ghostface Killaz.
The movie was heading into my second favorite in the franchise. It may still be, after the original. It's the last 30 minutes and reveal that changed things for me. I just was hoping that the Ghostface who said they were different was actually different.
For example, the first 3 kills (alley kill, murder of alley killer, chopped up body in fridge) is how brutal I wanted the tone of this Ghostface to be all throughout. And I was hoping this would be a single Ghostface who actually gets away this movie and we don't find out his identity.
I'm like you Mike, I wish we get Stu back even if I don't know what logical way they could do it. But when Ghostface told Gale "I can't believe we're just now speaking after all this time", I immediately thought of Stu. I'm still not even sure why any of the 3 killers would have said that to Gale? That one really threw me for a loop.
I didn't care for any of these characters in Scream 5 besides Tara yet I loved each of them in Scream 6. They really took the complaints of the character writing and expanded on them. Loved Chad in this one and Tara and especially Sam came into their own so much. Sam definitely took pointers from Terrifier 2 in the Final Girl department
Overall, loved the movie. Just wish we got different ghostface(s) and someone who got away.
I had Quinn pegged from the first scene mainly because she reminds me of one of those crazy girls in the strangers.I guessed the killers pretty early but there was room to speculate. They have fooled me with the fake kill before so Quinn being killed didn’t really throw me off is much.
Loved seeing Sam be Ghostface for a minute.
Anyone catch how they copied 2 when they rolled out Chad after assumed dead...same exact way they wheeled out Dewey at the end of 2
Tara is totally the only reason Sam hasn't snapped yet.
So excited you posted been waiting all day to see what you had to say
26:49 One thing to keep in mind about the “Stu is dead” parts of the movie. On the white board, when it shows Stu dead 1996, it ALSO has a HUGE QUESTION MARK next to it!!!! So that’s two instances in this film, hinting that he may still come back!
I see it again on Tuesday; I'll look for that. Great catch!
I didn’t see the big ? Dammit I missed it
I would say you’re onto something, but there was also a question mark next to Mickey’s picture also
I'm still curious how she knows what Billy sounds like, looks with full detail, and his mannerisms. He was dead before she ever saw him. Unless there is an actual "possession" going on, but Scream has kept supernatural elements out and hope they continue to do so...
I'm sure videos of Billy exists somewhere. It'd have to be vhs grainy shit, or at least transferred from vhs to higher quality formats, but I'm sure some could exists somewhere within the Loomis bloodline. Maybe the father of Billy, or grandparents, or other Loomis bloodline members.
@@alexnorton3639 I could see that, but the way he talks and mannerisms seems unlikely still. Potentially video cameras, but they weren't as popular and commonly available as they are today...damn now I remember that Billy's dad had money... still, just seems kinda wack to me. Was hoping they would drop it because the only two end results to that kind of trope I see them doing now is: she snaps and turns into a killer of non-ghost face, or this has all just been a tease to make you think she would snap. Billy won't be able to help reform her, dude was twisted, so that can't be a future point. Oh well. We shall see in a year or two.
I loved that they had some of the music from the original
Echoing the bulk of Mike's sentiments from the opening kill(s) to the various set-pieces (the ladder sequence is one of my favorites in the entire franchise and all the credit it the world to Devyn Nekoda because she made me care about Anika's survival with a remarkably small amount of screen time.) My only real sticking point with the film as a whole is in the reveal, not the identity or motives, but the tone of all three killers after the masks come off. On the one hand it makes sense that these three would share Richie's manic energy and that would come out in full force when they were so close to having their plan come together. But on the other hand, while revenge is a perfectly good motive for donning the Ghostface mask, I wanted to feel some genuine anger from all of them for Richie's death and aside from Detective Bailey, it didn't really come through, at least on my initial viewing. And in the film's defense, as an unrepentant Stu Truther, I have to accept the fact that I'm gonna have the tiniest twinge of disappointment every time that mask is removed to reveal a non TV-smooshed face. (That's a me problem and I'm working on it.)
Few random points worth reiterating - Sam & Tara absolutely crushed it in this flick, very interested to see the journey of the Carpenter sisters going forward - Sidney's absence was handled deftly, and really, I have no idea where she might've fit in this story unless you swapped her out for Kirby and that feels wrong - Ghostface's line to Gale about someone making a buck writing about her death is one of the meanest things ever uttered - glad to see Chad survive even if he should've been super dead. If he survived that, nothing short of a three quarters decapitation or full disemboweling means certain death. The short drop of a CRT television doesn't even rate. - Very excited to see where the franchise goes from here, very happy to have Radio Silence at the helm.
Mike, I'll leave you with a conspiracy theory to ponder - Danny's the tiniest bit taller than Dewey. Not saying that Richie & Amber had a third (or the that the other Kirsch's had a fourth) but that man's going to need some serious vetting before I trust him alone with the Core Four. Excellent work as always!
With that beginning I was kinda hoping we would have seen more of that regardless of if it was the real Ghostface or not, it’s New York I think they should have leaned into the fact there are some random psychos out there
The only clue I had about the detective being one of the killers is that after Sam gave her alibi, the therapist was immediately killed. He was the only one who knew her whereabouts at that point.
Loved every bit of this movie!
I felt like gale fit right in just wish ghostface called in to her show
that would have been awesome!
I loved it!!! I thought the mirroring to scream 2 was really cool and thoughtful. Scream 2 Billy's mom for revenge, scream 6 Richeys dad for revenge. And that both final acts in scream 2 and 6 took place in theaters. It was smart and subtle enough to not be corny.
Scream 6 might actually be my favorite since the 1st movie.
Agreed sir.
dont be so low IQ
when ethan said to Tara i finally get to stick u with something i was just dammm and the mindy speech talking about franchise and that tony stark died for it to move on gold
Finally, I got to see this film, and I have to say I put it up there with scream 2 in regards to sequels. This movie did so good at paying homage to the second film. I love that S2 started in the theater, S6 ends in it. The opening was ballsy and a good type of different.... unlike S4.... it feels like Roger L. Jackson had a ton of fun in this movie with his one-liners. The character development of the core 4 was really good. Love seeing Kirby and Billy again. My favorite aspect of this movie is that the nostalgia was used to propel the story forward and not just slapped in our face like in every other movie these days. I like that the reveals were surprising (I avoided the internet, so I didn't see those damn spoilers). I fucking love that Sam puts on Billy's robe and mask, and gets to do the killer phone call. That kill on McDermott was brutal!!!! Stabby stabby
In regards to Stu, when Mindy and Kirby were talking about him, Kirby kinda smirked and eye rolled when asked if he's dead. That MF still has a chance to come back, and I'm all for it. I really wished there was an end credit scene where it shows the phone ring, sidney picks up, and all you here is "Hello sidney"
Sam disrespecting Richie was hilarious!
I loved when Kirby threw the television on Ethan
And that wouldn't kill someone. It's like that's them mis directing us
@@disclaimer.imjokin but this is a movie we're talking about.
What I liked about Scream 6 is that its full of soooo many references. Starting with the first kill (Samara Weaving), that was a reference to INWYDLS’ Helen Shivers. So cool.
"Who gives a f*** about movies?!" The opening is probably my second favorite of the series.
In hindsight your son did 😂
There was so many parts of the movie that didn’t add up. The black chick with the short hair gets stabbed in the gut in the beginning and was spewing blood and the next day is on a train with no obvious injuries. And then they had mentioned that the Blonde detective was kicked off the police department several months ago for mental instability yet she was at every crime scene in the beginning of the movie and nobody cared? The movie had potential but too many times there scenes were the characters were getting stabbed 100 times and surviving. Origin Screams were way better in my opinion.
I loved the opening sm like poor Samara the kill was simple just stabs but she was selling it with her screaming which made me feel her pain and the fact that the other two victims were ghostface killers that’s really unique pinning killer against killers. The gore was very present in this movie with the dismembered corpse in the fridge loved that, Anika’s death left quite the impression, and Wayne’s death with the stab to the eye oof gory stuff. I guessed who the killers were easily with the cop and Ethan but what I didn’t suspect was Quinn because I thought she died so I was questioning if I was right cause I thought to myself “If the cop crazy enough to kill his own daughter if so wow” only for when the third act came and two ghostface’s popped out I was like “oh it’s fs him” but when 3 popped out I knew fs it wasn’t Jogh Segara’s character so when she was revealed to be alive it caught me so off guard. I screamed sm during Gale’s chase sequence💀 I literally thought they killed her same for Kirby.
The opening was so well done they got me good
Seeing two ghostfaces on scream wiping their knives gave me chills.
Just another thought I wouldn't have mind a end credit scene with Gail in the hospital saying , hi Sidney, yes I'm okay"
I think Stu is dead, they even got Ethan killer by a tv which was a way to close up that theory for him to return
Yeah but they also have the line if you believe he’s dead
@@austincaucci dang I missed that! My theaters was soo annoying with someone was actually Snapchat the movie next to me and was laughing at scenes that weren't funny...and they smelled like pee .. worst experience
I hope there's a line from Kirby in Sceeam 7, " How do 5'4" girls manhandle people the way amber and Quinn did? " and it's revealed that whoever the mastermind in 7 was went after Gale/Dewey.... I disagree with the whole " Well its a stuntman as Ghostface so what can you do??" You can hire stunt people similar sizes to the cast .... or write kill scenes that would make sense for a size/power difference.
I loved the Friday the 13th homage with both openings starting with dismembered body parts in a fridge. The guys named Jason and of course one of them playing on the TV (was it Jason takes Manhattan?)
It was! It was the scene in Jason Takes Manhattan where he stabs the girl in the shower with the broken shards of mirror glass
I went and saw this movie by myself. The only down side was there was no one to hear me call the killers and motive early on 😅
The first time I saw Quinn and Detective Bailey in the same scene I said they were the killers. When we didn't see Quinn actually getting killed I felt that was confirmation. Ethan was the surprise for me!
I called out Ethan on the subway, I didn't like the way he was looking at Mindy it was creepy.
The Stu theory needs to die. How would we go through 26 years with no one learning Stu is alive? Who would have covered it up? How did Dewey never figure out that there was a cover-up with Stu when he made his way up the ranks with the police all the way to sherrif? They'd have a body. Literally the only reason we'd have to believe Stu was alive would be that his death would have to be done the exact same way as Quinn and a cop would have had to be in on it and clear the scene first, letting Stu go. We've gone far too long for no one to figure that out. Plus, we'd also probably have to believe that Ethan is still alive if Stu lived. Let the theory go. It's just so ridiculously impossible.
Opening was good. Loved as he walks by tera he just casually talks to her and then when he leaves the conversation his face and demeanor change that was nice to see. I knew it was the roommate because of the throwaway line of my brother died so my dad and I moved to the city. There was really no follow up to it so it had to mean something. Once I found out her dad was leading the investigation and that they had richie's phone it just mad sense. And us not seeing her die or attacked also helped my suspicion. What I dont understanding is after richie's death his whole life would have been public information and kirby and Gail would have known about his family. His dad wouldnt be able to hide it as he had a career in law enforcement and wouldnt be able to fake who he was. Just dont get it
The bit with the ladder reminded me of Judgement Night (1993).
