As a Canadian Hongkonger with Canadian and British passport, I support this move. However, I concern about how the UK can benefit from it. In shorts, why would the UK give up its territory without taking anything?
I'm sure the natives there don't want to be a part of Canada, England, or anyone else after their track record with how these territories are neglected.
@@1jaedan Neglected in terms of capital investment, education absolutely. The only investment comes from the private sector for lavish resorts and hotels. I'll be sure to ask my family the next time I visit again. Enjoy your day
so canadians will just use the country and the tourism income wont benefit the islands it will go into the coffers of canada as a whole, they can develop their tourism links but to allow themselves to get owned by another country is just stupid.
It will benefit T&C by improving their infrastructure, educational institutions & Business investments/ Jobs. There will also be free world-class Healthcare.
Do you really think King Charles has a say in any decision a government makes? Besides, he would still be their king, because he is the King of Canada.
What language do they use? ENGLISH. What currency do they use? US DOLLAR Where does 83% of the tourist come from? UNITED STATES Where does 76% of imports come from? UNITED STATES Why wouldn’t they want to become a US Territory?
Why don't they just join the Bahamas? All this talk about joining a better nation for better programs and social benefits, and the Bahamas is right next to them. Plus the cultures are similar so there wouldn't need to be any worries about Non-Caribbean people moving in gentrifying the islands. I could be missing something, is there some tension between the two countries, can someone explain?
Can you please hold a referendum ONLINE or otherwise to find out the no. of people around the world wanting to be part of Canada. Those of us wanting to be part of Canada could be considered in the Queueing up initially as Overseas Virtual Canadian Citizens, so that they dont loose the citizenship of their current nationality, also work for Canada & Canadian interests abroad from wherever they are. My suggestion would be if such a move is acceptable to the Canadian Govt. , they should consider places like India, as India and Indian Sub-continent is more potential than a small caribbean Island.
imagine income taxes going from 0 to 60%
It's already 60%, wake up buddy.

England? You mean the United Kingdom, the former is not a nation-state.
If they join Canada the real estate there would be way more expensive than Toronto and Vancouver

The monarchy has no skin in this game.
