- Hit by hurricanes in 2017, the Turks and Caicos Islands, a Caribbean archipelago nation, is back on its feet again and open for business. Courtney Fingar, editor of fDi Magazine, explores opportunities in agribusiness, financial services and tourism sectors, and how the government plans to diversify the economy.
Nice video. The country also has next to no government debt which is unheard of. Soon they will be able to reinvest in infrastructure, services and growth opportunities to celebrate their rise. As well the TCI have done a super job of positioning their tourist offering as a "premium, luxury" offering which bodes well for attracting current and future investment. They've smartly avoided the mass market tourism label that plagues some other island destinations - and with that have a Ritz and Hyatt Andaz opening in the next 12-24 months - with numerous other resorts also in planning stages...
Nice video. E.J Sanders has the right outlook, thinking outside the typical tourism model for such places. Fintech is still in its infancy and there are lots of options to carve out a niche. Most people think the same, but clever people innovate.
