When I was flying to Italy flight was delayed four hours, but haft of the passengers were already on and we waited another two hours just in the plane to go so we miss our train and we couldn’t find the place we were staying at

I'm from Texas and the closest airport I'm next to is Houston, so it's always the one I've flown out of/to, and I can't stop laughing because of your horror story here. It's such a reality here because the weather is finicky af. People that live here call Texas "drunk" a lot because shit will change so fast lmao. My poor boyfriend and dad has to fly a fair amount and there's pretty much always a problem. Just a tip though, I believe United is a lot better than Spirit here. I don't know about elsewhere and idk about the price differences, but everyone I know makes sure they fly United, and if they can't, Spirit is still a last resort 😂

I’m a 11 yr kid and I started crocheting like 6 weeks ago and i was so mesmerized of crocheting and I wanted to start but I didn’t have the money so I asked my dad and he got me 2 pacts of small yarn and 3 hooks but idrk how to crochet and the RUclips’s videos weren’t helping but I did learn how to make a magic ring and I wanted to make money so I don’t really have the money neither does my dad to buy yarn because I want to make plushies to sell when I go to middle school so I was wondering if u can teach me how to make some plushies over FaceTime! But it’s only when I get my allowance to get some yarn but I’m really hoping you can say yes! Crocheting is something I wanna do for sure ! It’s really fun and I hope I can make plushies like you!

Hi Rebecca! 💕 I use 5.5mm for stabilizing my jumbo plushies, but honestly any size needle should do! Metal or bamboo would be fine too

Sometimes you can connect your camera to a laptop or tablet and use it as a monitor to see it bigger and check it’s in focus and the framing. I hear ppl do that. You should check it out and see if you can xx

Since I'm a minor I never have to worry about flight issues; my parents deal with all that for me, so whenever a flight gets canceled, delayed, or anything like that I'm totally chillin' while my mother is dying on the inside LOL.

I’d love to see the sunflower turtle with the original sunflower colours and the dark green that you used for the shell on the new colour order for the body! I think it’d look a lot like a real sunflowers colour palette with the thick dark green stalks! ❤

I had one of those insane travel. Long story short i thought i missed my connecting flight because of a plane needing cleaning and bad weather when i arrived for my connecting flight itwas delayed. I had to move flight gates, while trying to update my brother on my new flight time. My phone was dying, my roaming wasn't connecting and my flight kept delaying every half hour. I was suppose to reach my destination at 7 pm, i reach after 11pm.
oh my gosh, what a nightmare! ugh, traveling is seriously the worst sometimes! glad you made it to your destination the same day (barely lol ) ❤
@CrochetByGenna Yep, another time I missed my connecting flight due to the Christmas season and had to room with 4 other females from the same flight because apparently I didn't qualify for hotel room, when my flight was the next day at noon. We were all friends for that brief moment. Still, traveling is the worst

Hello! So honestly I get all my yarn online since I'm never happy with the yarn in stores too! I get it from Joann's (online), specifically Bernat Velvet. I also use premier yarns (online) and get their premier parfait chunky yarn :)

the mini came out absolutely precious!!! thank you for the top for stabilizing the head - I've only made two plushies so far but sewing parts together was the worst part for me, I'm so bad at it hahaha

long story short. there were only two times i missed my flight because it was the 1st and 3rd time i ever flew and they were both solo dolo. i sat either at the gate or across from the gate at a computer area to charge and both times i didn't hear the announcement that the gate was changed. and both times by the time i realized and ran to the new gate, both times i was upgraded for free. once was to first class and the other was to business class. i was so heated. i missed out on such a great opportunity. it always takes me two times to learn a lesson so that never happened a third time. i now check my gate announcements like every 10 mins like a maniac.

I had seen people use a curved needle, and tried it myself too. I HATE sewing things together but with a curved needle it's so much easier. Don't know if there are curved needle for thick yarn though... :/
For chunky yarn (all thicknesses, really, except maybe embroidery floss 'yarn'), I recommend using a crochet hook in about 2-4 sizes smaller than what the amigurumi was crocheted with -- there's a fair chance that most crocheters own a few hook sizes, but even the same size works pretty well. The hooks are designed to be worked through the stitches anyway, so I find just hooking the yarn and pulling through works wonderfully. Helps save a lot of money and frustration, personally.

My mom had a delta flight at 7am from South Carolina to Detroit. EST home roughly by 9am right sounds easy. Had to be there early she was. She got home at 11AM THE NEXT DAY. It was the only flight to Detroit so she couldn't switch. It was a full day of its been rescheduled for 2 hours, 3 hours to you'll get there when you get there.
I had a flight from South Africa to England, and our original flight was cancelled and delayed by 4 hours, so we had to wait about 6-7 hours to board our flight at 11pm. Then, because all the people had been drinking without food because they stopped serving at 9, someone fainted in the hallway of the airplane. That took 4 hours to get his bags off because it was a two- floored plane and so many bags. We ended up travelling for a full 24hrs that day, and I was extremely tired by the end of it… 😭😭

yes, totally want to do simple crochet tutorials in the future! you basically crochet your stitch halfway, add in the new skein, and then finish the stitch :) theres some good vids here on YT too! ❤

Hey Gemma, I actually had a flight from Tokyo Haneda to London Gatwick, and this was at the time that the crash happened at Haneda airport. Because of this, we were on a shorter runway which meant that we couldn’t take off on it with all the fuel, so we had to divert to Narita airport. When we arrived we were an hour late starting the fuelling process, and we weren’t allowed to leave the plane. In the end, it took about four hours to fuel the plane fully, and by the end of the flight we had been on that flight 18 hours, and the air was so stale I felt sick for the last 5 hours of my flight. And then we had to drive four hours to get home 😭
Legally they have to give you a hotel stay when they cancel your flight. You must go tell them you know your rights, and then they usually get their shiz together. I’m so sorry you went through that. This year has highlighted the airlines not abiding by their own rules and laws, and it’s disgusting because they all make an insane amount of money. There’s no reason not to accommodate every single person.

I use Sweet Snuggles yarn and just recently found out about Premier Parfait XL.. I'm so happy to hear it's the exact same and if I'm not mistaken, there are more colors of Parfait XL than Sweet Snuggles? I've never found a nice beige or light brown at Michaels before 👀

Here’s my horrible flight story 😂 I ended up spending 3 days at Istanbul airport because they cancelled flights due to a storm. They did offer us a hotel but said if we go they can’t guarantee us a seat it would be first come first serve when the planes are ready to take off. We decide to just stay and ended up there for 3 FULL DAYS waiting to get home😭 let’s just say I know the ins and outs of that hotel very well 😅

Thanks so much!! And it takes 2 skeins for the body, 1 skein for the shell, and around 1/4 skein for the petals :)

I have a really good sewing needle set that I got from Walmart! They come in a pack of like two big ones and two small ones or something like that, but I always only use the big ones because they actually work with just about any type of yarn

For a thicker metal yarn needle, I got some at Joann’s and Walmart for pretty cheap. Your work is super cute. I like both sizes of the turtles. People will have different preferences.

I actually used the front camera😂 the back camera is nice too! I just liked seeing myself :) and it was easier to make sure the iphone was in focus by using the front camera!
