Get ready for recalls and frustrations for those that sell and newish GX for the '24! They will definitely be making improvements over the first 2-3 years. I bought the first model of Rav4 (2019) and learned my lesson. 4 recalls and if you look at the current version, they have sound proofing on the hood now and many other things. One of the main reasons I purchased a '23 GX. is that reliability is the best there is. I don't generally want to buy the latest and greatest nor do I care of turning heads. The GX looks substantial already and as you know photos and videos don't do it justice! Glad you're going to keep your GX!
Recalls are a normal part of auto development for new platforms. Vehicles are very complex. However Toyota has been getting the kinks out of this engine in other platforms like the new Tundra, Sequoia and 300 Series, so I think the GX will be a decent release. Toyota has high quality standards and even more effort goes into all of their full-sized and mid-sized Land Cruiser based vehicles
@Shawn-ky2tw You’re right the recalls. You should always be careful about the first two model years, however Lexus has been using this engine since 2018 so it should be fine. The LS500, LX600 and GX are being built in Japan so I believe the 3.4L turbo in those vehicles are better than the one you find in Tundra/Sequoia. There have been some problems with the 3.4L turbo found the Tundra/Sequoia and those are being built in Texas. And yes I’m keeping my GX
@@SlowWhip Glad you're keeping your GX. Not sure those V6s are built in Texas though? They may be coming from Japan and assembled in the Tundra/Sequoia assembled into the car in Texas. Many manufacturers do that, but very possible the motors coming from Mexico or USA. It's not just the engines that get improvements, it's pretty much many of the major complaints and then the technical issues they see coming back into the dealerships. Some problems are an easy fix, for which Toyota/Lexus will make easy recall. But, for the issues that are deep inside, they only do if absolutely necessary. Buying a 2 or 3 years after introduction has you covered for the long haul. If you're not buying a car for the long haul, who cares about all of the above. Just buy the new GX, enjoy and trade it in when your time is up with it ;-)
People have been hating on it? The GX 550 is my dream 4x4! It looks properly rugged as 4x4s should! It has body-on-frame construction! It's going to be great! My dad was a Toyota (Japan) employee for 21 years and back when the Defender released he told me Toyota was really surprise by how popular and successful it was and said the new GX would be built boxier to compete with it. I'm very happy with it! So is my dad lol I reserved one today lol
Yes people are hating on it hard on those Facebook group pages. I love the way the new GX looks like. Congrats, did they tell you when you’ll be getting it? I heard it won’t be out until February 2024 👍🏾
Lol literally everybody knows that it won’t available until February 2024. If you pay attention to the title, I stated that I’m selling my GX460 for GX550. I never said I bought it or taking delivery of it, now that would be clickbait lol
Beautiful 2022 LEXUS GX 460!!🚖🇺🇸❤️🤍💙🙏✝️😇
Thank you
