Me and my Dad watched and laughed at and with Mr. Dickerson on the Three Stooges, ("This house is sho gone crazy). I can still hear my Dad's laughter. Mr. Dickerson was brilliant, a pioneer and as the kids today say, "the GOAT".
He was an inspiration who helped to pave the way for others to follow. In the 1930s and 1940s few roles were there for black actors. He stood out in so many ways. Some may say his roles were stereotypical but he was also breaking ground for others. He was a phenomenal talent who consistently displayed his gift. We all owe him a great deal of gratitude.
Thanks for making this video! I have been fascinated by this man ever since seeing the Three Stooges episode when they masqueraded as plumbers. A couple of years ago, I was inspired to make a sort of amateur video documentary on Mr. Dickerson's life, but I'm pretty sure it would have been done by now, if it were possible - it's unfortunate that so little is known about him, for obvious & unfortunate reasons. He barely had any speaking lines in his movie/TV career, but he was always funny...I wonder what his live comedy shows were like?
Rest in peace Mr Dickerson God bless 🙏 to you and your families thank you for all the laughter and joy that you brought us 😊❤

One of the greatest Physical Comedic Performers ever!
It's 2024 and Dudley still warms my heart and makes me laugh. He would have been an excellent "Rochester" for Jack Benny.
Loved him in The Three Stooges! His timing was phenomenal!

HBDAY Dudley Dickerson

Very talented artist just as usual of the time only situational roles for black actors.
