Having you install my irrigation and do a consult was the best money I have ever spent on my garden. Thank you for all you do.

Bro you just saved my 3 year old peach tree, thank you! Watched this video this morning, and this was the missing piece for why my peach tree had started to show stress. Watering has been on point, feeding schedule including chelated iron via calendar alerts, light sulfur treatment 3x a year to help correct soil alkalinity, did all the right things planting it, putting it above grade a couple inches when I planted it originally, etc, but couldn't quite figure out why the leaves were still yellowing and falling off, especially when every single other tree of mine is super green and pumping with new growth. I know heat stress is a part since it's by a west cinder block fence and it mostly gets full sun, but there was something else I couldn't put my finger on, and this was it. Turns out it sank about an inch lower than I thought it would after settling from planting, and the mulch found its way into the slight soil depression around the trunk. Moved the mulch and some of the top soil back to where roots coming off the trunk were barely covered, and there's about a 1.5" area of the lower trunk with early stages of trunk rot. Very grateful for this video and to have caught this sneaky issue early! Definitely going to be something I regularly check on all of my trees going forward.
Keep up the great work, love your videos and especially your new Plant 911 series.

She can bark grafted the tree with a couple of saplings to give water and nutrients to the tree.

A local tree company transplanted a Texas mountain laurel in spring 2022... but they buried the root flare a good 6 inches below grade. I did not discover this until I consulted a different arborist in spring 2023 who excavated the root flare. The first company came back to root prune and raise the tree, and now the tree looks like crap but is still alive. Hoping it bounces back.
You assume when you pay $250 to transplant a tree, the company would know not to bury the root flare by half a foot.

texas mountain laurel has a a deep root system and most times they don't transplant well for this reason. I'm surprised it's still alive.

Hey Allen, I watch and share a lot of your videos in our local Houston Facebook groups. I love your honesty and learning with you. So, i am kind a long time lurker lol. What made me write this comment is to suggest bridge graft to this customer. That will create an alternative pathway for water flow. It will be tricky to graft to root on one end, but its possible.

So I have micro sprinklers under my trees water sprays on base of trunk ?
Should I change to something that doesn’t wet the trunk ( watering every other day 5 min on timer )

idk what 5 mins will do for your plant but as long as the trunk dries in between watering you should be ok.

I have a red naval orange tree and the trunk is splitting and the bark is coming Off above the graft and I'm not sure what it is. I think it was from cold damage but I'm not sure. It's like the bark is peeling off on one side?
