While going for a tournament, I think it's better to have a different variety of Pokemons. If the same type of Pokémons are present in a team, there is a chance that these Pokemons have weaknesses or are inefficient towards particular types of Pokemons that the opponent has.
Incineroar isn’t that good in Singles, which is Ash’s primary means of battle. Better options: Melmetal Gengar Gliscor (seriously why has no one mentioned this thing??) Torkoal
i know right? gliscor is literally amazing ive literally clutched up a 1v3 with gliscor torkoal though is only good with trick room and ash does not have a trick room setter ashs melmetal is also goated, would pick it over lucario gengar is really useful if it could go mega as it could be a nice trapper

How about Ash’s best team using regular Pokémon? That means no starters(pikachu included) no route one birds, no pseudo legendary’s ,no mythical or legendary’s and no Pokémon with gimmicks (mega evolve, z moves etc.)

By competitive I think he meant like rea world game competitive. I don’t think pikatchu and a non mega charizard would make the cut. Infernape is also a lower tier mon. I do think Greninja could’ve been swapped for Melmetal.

I think this team would be really well balanced in terms of typing, give him multiple heavy hitters, and give him options as far as battle gimmicks (mega evo, dynamax, z-moves) I only had five spots because we all know Pikachu is on the team.
