Thanks for posting Michael. True genius at work with the Mig. As you repaired the first part l wondered why you weren't planning on the same process for the tail end. Low and behold ya did it. You inspire some of us to tackle our own projects. " An hour a day is 365 hours a year on a projects". So as much as we may inspire you with our positive comments, you truly are inspirational. Looking forward to the next release in this series Cheers
Keep up the hard work and dedication towards the channel. I just love watching everything u do with boats and showing us how u do things. Its become very helpful for me watching and learning from u for my own projects. Thanks again and much love to ya Michael from Maryland❤❤❤.
the alumacraft is awesome. ive had three of em. they are top of the line. still voting to keep both rigs original. id hate to see the original rigs seperated
Nice work on the skeg it looks great hope you are able to get on the water to do the shake down cruise. Hopefully you will get some fishing in. Thanks, Tim
I've beat a couple skegs successfully with two hammers just like you did. I don't think I used heat, but annealing the aluminum is wise. Nice welding job, I need to buy a tig welder soon.
I know a man that trusted oil injection on his outboard in the early 90’s. It didn’t go well. Oil injection failed and it burnt up the engine. I don’t know if he got it repaired or just replaced it. That reinforced what my dad already decided. Just like you said, he believed only In premixing his fuel. He even mixed it a little bit oil heavy. In his mind he was protecting his investment.
Awesome video 👍👍 Really nice job on the Skeg👍👍👍I like the Big Dent Alumacraft and it would be a great boat to refurbish but I Still got my fingers crossed 🤞🤞🤞 for the Ol Gray Bandit Evinrude . But I understand the dilemma and I will respect your decision .. Either one will be an awesome project.. 👍👍 Stay safe and As always Sir thanks for the ride along and Keep’em coming
The skeg isn’t curved slightly by design to counteract prop torque? I suppose 90hp is a little low for that, but my 250hp has a bend in it from the factory to reduce the steering load at high speed.
Since it has the anode adjustable skeg on it, I'm pretty sure it was straight in the 80's, I will keep my out for newer ones so I can see what you are referring to. Thanks for watching
Have a 1998 mercury has been real reliable much more so than 2013 merc 90hp 4 stroke, just did carb rebuild plan on changing thermostat and water pump rebuild next. Hey what happened to big blue was hoping you'd finish that.
I just got the same welder, looking to upgrade for a better plasma cutter.the saying is a grinder n paint makes me the welder i aint!!! Just curious how many sticks of 4056 did that tiggerdactyl have to eat to make a pile that size.?enjoyed the humour happy boating weld looks mighty fine.snooky pa.❤😂😂😂😂😂
I used around 9 sticks for both spots on the skeg, ground about 5 sticks worth back off. I have an arc captain plasma cutter, pretty pleased with it too. Thanks for watching. Here's the link to the one I bought amzn.to/3T1zPdH
Still on the fence about moving it, it may just live out its' life on the old alumacraft and I repair the flooring and the big dent. Thanks for watching
I no a friend that works at a dealer for boats/ water crafts well they had a brand new big size jet ski well the motor blew up being it was bran new it was shipped back to the manufacturer of that jet ski well they found out it was the oil injection was not working it failed and that was new i was like WOW so the alst boat i git the first thing i did is removed that automatic oiler i will mix my gasoline and oil i know it's mixture is right every time i dont care if i go out an buy a 2025 motor today i will mix my gasoline and oil
Greetings from Australia. The saying you are looking for is “Grinder and paint, makes me the welder I ain’t” 😂🤣
That is correct, I'm holding off on the paint to be able to show off the repair, thanks for watching

Thank you and thanks for watching, the TIG welder isn't something I use often but sure is handy when you need it.
