I've been reading a lot of negative comments on this movie. The movie hasn't come out yet and they cut it down. Give it a chance. Looks like a kickass movie. I like the darker look about it. Looks like a thriller, not cartoonish.

I have no problems with low budget at all. I liked, but didn't love the first two... primarily because of the comic feel/humor was amped up to much for me. I still have to see the 3rd.
Yeah, this has just the right tone.
I'm a little concerned about it. It's a much different, slightly less action centric feeling Hellboy than what we've seen previously, Jack Kesy isn't Ron Perlman or David Harbour, but I'm want to give it a fair shake. Something slightly slow & low-budget & more horror themed is probably a good way to go I think for something like Hellboy.
It matches the mood of the comic it is adapting, and that's all I'm asking for.
To say I have concerns about this film would be an understatement.
I loved the first film and I think I liked the second one more than you did. I’m not a fan of the third movie but it certainly looks better than this one will, at least judging by the trailer.
The line delivery and some of the shots just seem amateur. It does give a fan film vibe and that’s what I thought it was when it first showed up earlier today.
As for Hellboy, he does look pretty cosplay, but I like the look more than the overdone makeup from the last film. This does seem closer to the comic than that version did.
Of course I think the script will be excellent, but will the movie live up to its story? We will see.
My fingers and toes are proverbially crossed.
I think you’re not focusing on the purpose of the film and too busy thinking about an action adventure big budget with hints of comedy version. That’s not what this film is. It’s a smaller budget horror/mystery/thriller film. You’re in the majority of casual fans. This is for the old school comic fans

People have been whining about the aesthetic of this movie non stop.
This teaser was barely over a minute long and they decided it’s “trash”.
It’s mostly people who grew up during the height of the genre; if the movie isn’t an extravaganza then it gets ragged on.
Good observation. I, for one, am excited to see how it plays out.
I wanna know why these make up artists make red things brown and totally wash out their own work...Hellboy is RED...he isnt brown!!!
