I made sage/cayenne salve years ago for use on sore muscles and joints and I'd be interested in your method of making salves. I extracted the oil from the sage leaves by warming the fresh leaves in oil very slowly for a prolonged period, then used the sage oil with beeswax to make the salve. Wondering if you have ever used raspberry leaves medicinally? Would love more medicinal herb videos, but all your videos are wonderful!
Thank you! We also use beeswax but use a slightly different process. We are planning a video soon to go over the steps and will continue with more medicinal herb videos including raspberry leaves (those in the spring). Thanks again for taking the time to comment and for watching our videos!!
It really is pretty good and definitely reminds me of pine needle tea made with our Five Needle Pine. I'm glad you gave it a shot and enjoyed it. It's always good to have another option on the shelf, especially when it's something we can grow ourselves!
Grow and Love my Sage. I usually make Sage & Brown Butter Sauce. I really like this usage and will be using this often, probably with Lemon & honey! Need to make the VOO with Rosemary to help with hair growth too..Thank you!
I want to know about oil infusion after extracting herbal properties with alcohol.. what is that called and what herbs/plants are best for it and why do we use thatmethods? Is 8t good for making something specific?
@@ashhashope333 Extracting with alcohol is called a tincture. Extracting with oil is called an infusion. Salves are made by adding a wax to an oil infusion. We plan on making a video showing the basic rules for making infusions, tinctures and salves. Thank you so much for watching!
