Its not a salami. Salami is made from meat. The only reason you are calling you vegan food meat names is you miss eat meat, safe yourself and go eat some meat.
@@ax8038 You seem to be very passionate about letting me know that vegetarian foods don’t contain meat. Thanks for that. The thing you said about me “miss eat meat” is true. I do miss eating meat. Unfortunately I don’t trust the meat that’s sold commercially where I live. It’s filled with steroids, hormones and a slurry of other chemicals that I didn’t order. And so, until our local farmers can sell “clean”, natural meats that don’t have to be approved by the F.D.A. I’ll continue to make my meat substitutes with ingredients that I know are healthy and I will share them with anyone that can find them helpful. Thanks for watching!
I'll be making this but will add crushed walnuts....
@@leemysliwiec2803 That sounds good! I’ll bet the nutty taste works well with this. Let us know how it turns out.
@@KeepingItRielwithMarilynSteve One of the things that can fool a meat eater with a vegetarian is ground walnuts. I know because I was fooled by Vegan Meatballs once... The walnuts give just that little crunch that meat has and many veggie ingredients don't have... I'll probably add a few crimine mushrooms also..
@@leemysliwiec2803 Mushrooms are always a good addition if you have them on hand. Most mushrooms have a beefy flavor and a good texture.
You can use apple cider vinegar too
Definately. Vinegar also works.
That store bought egg powder is sketchy! Probably stretched with some sort or starch, but even powdered sawdust is a possibility
@@TheJDiane Exactly! That was one of the reasons we invested in our freeze dryer. We wanted long term food preservation but wanted control over the ingredients. Thank you for sharing!
Can't wait to try this salami. And I would love to see all your other "deli meat" recipes, if you would post them on your website or make videos, that would be awesome! I have made several of your recipes and every one has been excellent. So curious as to how you make "bologna."
@@sheilafelton9957 I’ll definitely be following up with a “bologna” and “pepperoni” video soon. I’ll also update the “salami” recipe on the website to be a “deli meat” recipe listing the different seasonings. The funny thing about my bologna recipe is that it started off as a hotdog recipe. Very close cousins they are, just different sizes and cooked / served differently. Haha Thank you for commenting Sheila!
Pepperoni recipe
I made a washed flour seitan pepperoni video here: ruclips.net/video/XaVv98QUmdA/видео.html but this quick oat recipe is much easier, so I'll be sure to follow up with a pepperoni video soon. Stay tuned and thanks for watching!
Good morning! Derek was excited to find this pop up on his feed.
@@denisehoward9276 cool! It’s really neat when someone local pops up! We lost WiFi- line snapped at the pole. So no working on the computer today but plenty of snow to shovel 😁
Just made this except I made it two column and 5 feet tall with 3 compartments on each side. Your directions made it so easy and it works great! Thank you!!

15 gallons of sap produces how much syrup?
15 gallons of sap would cook down to about 3.2 oz. We have to collect about 40 gallons of sap durring our maple season to get 1 gallon of syrup. We use a 40:1 ratio. A lot of work but worth it!
Great stuff 😊

She doesn't say how the marbles are going to tell you it is running dry. Do they gently rattle while in the boiling water, then stop when the water level is too low?
Sorry about that :) Yes, they rattle as the water boils and when the water runs dry the sound stops. You just have to be careful if the water runs out too often you can crack the marbles. Thanks for the question!!
That is the best.. now silent snowy morning
We have family driving in for the holiday so I'm ok with no snow :) but yes, the hush with the soft "poof" as the snow flakes hit and you're on the porch with your coffee is very peaceful. Thanks for watching!
When I was a kid, my Mom called these "drop biscuits." I had forgotten all about them and I will make some tomorrow using your recipe! Wonder how they would be if flavored a little with garlic powder or cinnamon. I'll experiment (if I have time) :)

Such a nice, in depth video. You people are blessed to have all sorts of medicinal plants & many being legal too. Where I live most are banned & none of the medicinal plants grow due to high temperature. I have a question please.... Since I buy dry herbs online, can I use those dried herbs in this fashion to make it more potent? Or is there any other way to increase the potency of the tinctures I make like passion flower, St. John's wort, valerian root, blue lotus & skullcap? Caring for my adult spastic child totally dependant on me has given lots of health issues, Chronic pain , depression & anxiety. Been dealing with 3 slip discs since 15 year & currently arthritis & fibromyalgia. Sometimes it feels enough is enough.😥😭 Would really appreciate yours as well as others reading my comment to please give suggestion, thanks in advance.
I’m unfamiliar with purchasing tinctures online or at shops so I can’t vouch or recommend specific companies that sell it. If you google search for “wild lettuce tincture”, several companies are shown. You might also be able to find a local shop that sells all natural foods and medicine. I searched on Amazon and found this wild lettuce tincture that looks pretty good (my affiliate link: amzn.to/3V8UDAW) Either way, please do your research and know what you’re ingesting. Take care, feel better and thank you for watching.
Great kit, I make up the same kit including the pencil sharpener I have made them up since when i was a kid in the 60's.😊

1992 mag 5.8. 3:20hrs AM. I remember because I woke up and the bed was shaking...No damage at my apartment as I was living about 60kM from epicenter. We are about 25kM from a minor fault. Some diagonal wires on the back end of your shelves will prevent complete collaps of the shelves. I have almost the same shelf type. No cans of jars there though...
@@dutch-prepper6587 luckily they are rare in our area but with all the strange weather and changes around the world it seems nothing can be ruled out anymore. We are doing this as a first step to be safe. We can screw some of the shelves right to the wall but the center aisle is not as stable. Hopefully neither you nor I will have to deal with this issue in the future 🙂 Thanks for the advice and support!
Make different favor balls 😊
@@Larry-l4s Well… I’m not sure about “favor balls” but if you meant flavored bowls, the nice thing about making plain yogurt is that you can flavor each serving differently depending on your mood. Thanks for watching!
good video. No need for drilling a hole in your Altoids tin Since there are holes naturally created by the hinges. (I tried it and it works fine.). One of my favorites is a screw top round tin in which I did uscrewed a bit and drilled a hole in the side through both top and body threaded portions and cleaned up the holes. Put your material in the tin and screw it down and it hides the hole. If you make char cloth, unscrew it to the point you see the holes align. This way your contents are well protected.
I love the idea of having a breather hole that you can close when not in use. The screw top tin is a great suggestion. Thank you so much for sharing and for watching!
Thanks great information 😊

Really enjoyed the egg video. Do you know offhand, the cost comparison between commercial eggs and the eggs you made? Thanks
Most brands of freeze-dried eggs are about $55-$60 for a #10 can of approximately 70 eggs. That’s about $0.85 per egg or about $10 a dozen. Oue eggs come from our chickens, so aside from the cost of raising chickens, we only pay for the freeze dryer running and that costs less than $2.00. Even if you were to buy the eggs at about $4.00 a dozen and freeze dry them yourself, the savings is huge and the quality is much higher. Great question and thanks for watching!

I wonder how long the effects tend to last....ive never tried it before
Great question! To be honest, I'm not quite sure. I use this medicine before bed to easy pain and help me sleep. I can tell you that it lasts at least 1 hour and then I typically fall asleep so I'm unsure of its duration. I'm certain that it also will vary from batch to batch and depending on an individual’s tolerance of it.

I do a similar process minus a day to make my own Greek yogurt. In the end I whip it with a submersible blender stick to make it very creamy and smooth with no lumps.

Just curious-figs have this latex. Could they be used for medicine as well?
@@beckywine3407 Great question! Fig latex is used medicinally to treat warts, skin sores, corns, bug bites and other topical skin ailments but it isn’t the same latex found in wild lettuce. Some people believe that fig latex can actually help with skin cancer or melanomas.
@ thank you! Great info! I’m going to make the wild lettuce tincture. 👍

I lived in NY state and FL and never had an issue with buildup, so after living in MN for a few years - yes, a few years! - I opened up the percolator one day - I just used it to boil water and literally never had to look in the bottom of the pot - and it's like an entire crystal world in there HOLY CRAP! Now I'm in WY, and there's never a buildup here, either.
I like that ;) "an entire crystal world in there" I agree it varies depending on if you have city water, well water, hard water ... where you live can change it tremendously! Thank you for so much for sharing and making me smile!!
Thanks for this tip. I have a twelve year-old-Scamp trailer that has been neglected. Oxydized paint has run down over the glass windows for years, Do you think I can get it off with 30% white vinegar?
@@akiairth9673 vinegar does a great job on many things the challenge is letting it sit on the surface if it’s vertical.
Also works for water cookers and (simple filter) coffee machines. Removal of limescale improves thermal conductivity, thus reduces time to cooking and increases energy efficiency. Highly recommended...

I used your website to help me research a lemonade recipe that would likely be used i the Depression. I wasn't sure if lemons were readily available in the midwest during the Depression. You answered the question, referring to the lemon's multiple uses; that certainly would make lemons a terrific investment at the market. I also wondered about the ratio of sugar to water, due to the limited availability of sugar during the Depression as well. Love the idea of nutmeg as an enhancer, while cutting back the sugar. Great ideas to keep my research alive. Thanks for the demonstration and all the history involved in such a refreshing drink! Linda F
