I lived in NY state and FL and never had an issue with buildup, so after living in MN for a few years - yes, a few years! - I opened up the percolator one day - I just used it to boil water and literally never had to look in the bottom of the pot - and it's like an entire crystal world in there HOLY CRAP! Now I'm in WY, and there's never a buildup here, either.

I like that ;) "an entire crystal world in there" I agree it varies depending on if you have city water, well water, hard water ... where you live can change it tremendously! Thank you for so much for sharing and making me smile!!

Also works for water cookers and (simple filter) coffee machines. Removal of limescale improves thermal conductivity, thus reduces time to cooking and increases energy efficiency. Highly recommended...

Thanks for this tip. I have a twelve year-old-Scamp trailer that has been neglected. Oxydized paint has run down over the glass windows for years, Do you think I can get it off with 30% white vinegar?

@@akiairth9673 vinegar does a great job on many things the challenge is letting it sit on the surface if it’s vertical.
