These two people deserve the best in everything they do. They simply radiate goodness & a wholesomeness that's been totally stripped-out of our modern, post Covid world......in fact, it's kind of a shock to even watch them, a lump in one's throat the whole time!! They are truly incredibly people......& this the best sailing channel on youtube.
It’s my favorite channel too.
Excellent video filming!
@@Ajojets Mine also… i highly recommend The Sailing Brothers too… two Welsh brothers on a small old boat. Like Matt & Amy amazing sailors and a no BS channel.
I couldn’t agree more
well said
Can’t believe the amount of work you guys have done on Florence in half a year, without much assistance from others. I hope you are proud of what you have done. We are 💕
I'm a non-sailor that watches way too many sailing channels. This is one of the top 3 channels I really look forward to. Glad to see it re-floated and how the re-fit continues until you get back to real sailing.
It suddenly struck me that out of all the "sailing" channels I regularly watch, only one involves sailing at the moment, and they (the Wynns) just got back out on the water a few months ago.
Out of interest what are your other two channel favorites?
@@julianbatcheler9970 My favorite is Florence, of course. 🤩 I am also subscribed to RAN sailing as well as the Wynns. I check in on Uma occasionally. I sporadically check up on Sweet Ruca. In the last month if followed Paradise Falls as they made the transit from Panama to the Marqueses.
@@larryrichards9418 I come and go with the Wynns. I used to love them and followed them before they got a boat. But there is something I really dislike about all these brand new catamarans. And now Delos is going to a brand new cat as well. It’s not snobbery… I simply find the older monohull channels hold my interest more. Sam Holmes, Sailing Wind Hippie, Tritea, Salty Sea Dog, Florence, Sailing Brothers… all smaller old monohulls.
@@julianbatcheler9970 You have to admit, cats are a much more comfortable way to cruise. There's just so much space! Still, for shear sailing pleasure I think a monohull is better. I used to own an Irwin 31 and sailing her on a brisk day was a lot of fun. Sailing a cat, OTOH, seems like sailing by the numbers rather than by feel. (Not that I have ever sailed any cat bigger than a Hobbiecat.)
You young folk are a truly remarkable couple. Your work ethic, obvious respect and love for each other - and your genuine personalities are a joy to behold in a world which feels like it’s falling apart.
Great job! Its great to watch a sailing channel where the sailors sail, rather than agonize over which catamaran to buy! Love your channel, keep up the good work.
And that is so genuine. Florence has served so magnificently, it is great to see her refitted and ready to take on anything, with the greatest crew out there.
Couldn't agree more. Florence is a great boat and Matt & Amy sail and maintain her so well. I have no interest in watching RUclipsrs spend $2 million on a custom catamaran.
She looks beautiful. Set her free back to where she is happy.
Congratulations on your relaunch of Florence. The joy in both your voices is wonderful to hear.
Despite how busy you were, your shooting, direction, editing AND music continues to impress.
Yes, quite a change of tack, but I enjoyed the refit details. (sorry for the bad/obvious pun).
Agreed! And I sit here and wonder - How on earth DO they do it all???
Wow, Florence is coming out in style , she looks brilliant. Well done to both of you for all the hard work you have put in.
Thank you for filming your refit over the last 6+ months. I've said this before and I'll say it again, I follow several sailboat channels and yours was the most watchable refit videos of them all. I'm looking forward to sailing with you around the world...again.
I got to be honest i watch all the sailing channels from vagabond to the wynns but you guys (along with Sailing Melody) are my favourite. your quality of work, quality of content creation is outstanding. Youve summarised your rebuild in the perfect amount of videos, feels like we a little closer to real time now as well which is great. Much love to you guys from Wales
How do you have time to sail?
What an amazing transformation! You should be very proud of what your hard work accomplished. I love how beautiful her top deck looks from above.
This was a really extensive and deep refit. Florence is almost like new, very much the perfect minimalist cruising boat. Some really difficult and laborious projects.
I know it has seemed like a very long six months in the shed from your view, but I am absolutely flabbergasted by what you have gotten done in that time. Well done. Looking for an update on your new diesel stove heater and how it is working out. Thanks again for the entertainment you have given us over the years.
What an incredibly tough six months for you, but seeing Florence in Port Solent last week in all her splendour showed what an amazing job you both have done. Hopefully your reward will be many months of happy sailing and new adventures. Thank you for continuing to take us along with you on all your journeys.
Amy: "I love this boat, and I love sailing her!" It's so great to see you three back on the water! :)
It really is so good to see you both so happy to be sailing again!! Well done both.
WOW, Florance looks better than new. You two are multi skilled with a hidh standard. It is so good to see. Take care & enoy Florance.
Florence looks so good. Glad your back in the water . ❤
It looks like Florence wants to tick off another 50,000 Congrats
so happy to see Florence back in the water!
Well done Matt & Amy! True grit and much love!
Congratulations. Florence is looking beautiful. I can't even guess what this refit cost, but many thanks to your sponsors as well.
Florence looks great, all the hard work and dedication has paid off. Great job
Florence looks beautiful and ready to go. Well done!
Last episode we were doing something similar. Today I'm launching!
What a great day I was hoping I'd be around to see my two favorite people back on Florence sailing once again. Now for more great videos of all the wonderful places you are going to. I wish you would sail up the pacific coast and visit oregon and then north to Canada and Alaska. That would be a epic trip. I can wish can't I.
God bless ,stay safe and always love each other unconditionally. Cheers.
I'm so glad you have given Florence a makeover and not taken the route of so many of these youtubers that sail around the world and taken the offer of a new boat from some boat company to advertise their boats I will mention no names. I would love to see the Old Sea dog do the same with his boat. Florence has served you well and taken care of you, I'm sure she feels that of all the owners she's had you two being her best owners. I know she's your baby, and thanks for not dumping her after all she's done. Personally, I would have looked into restoring her cooker just to keep it original, but I'm sure the new one will be better . I know the tender was a gift from Amy's dad, but I definitely would have looked into something a bit safer considering where you are going on your next adventure. Watching you two, I know land under your feet is not as good as water. I'm looking forward to you three back on the move. Thanks for entertaining me, and thanks for not binning Florence she's just as much a star ❤
Congratulations on re floating Florence, wishing you many happy and safe miles.
She looks gorgeous! You can see that she is loved. Awesome work and congratulations to both of you.
Congratulations on the results of all hard-work!
❤ seeing Florence back in the water. Best wishes on your adventures.
SPLASH DAY! Your boat looks fantastic. It is your excitement that draws my attention. The love for sailing and the boat you've chosen is an absolute match.
wow Florence looks like a brand new boat, you did a great job
Well done to you two. Yes, hard work pays off and nice people like you deserve to take the next step in your adventures.
Florence looks awesome 👏🏽 Looking forward to your new adventures.
Well done guys. Your incredible hard work and commitment really shows in a beautiful looking boat. Your smiles are different when on Florence and it is a delight to see. Beaming like Cheshire cats! Am so looking forward to you sharing your next adventures. Stay safe and take care.
So shiny and loved, amazing job
I like how you describe how having the mast stepped again transforms how you feel when you step aboard. Good to see you re-launched, Florence looking great, and by the sounds of it some great projects completed. I can't imagine what it feels like to not have career or family demands, and for both of you to be free to refit a boat and sail.
Far more inspirational and entertaining than all other sailing channels. Teamwork really does make the dream work 👍
Hello...I am so excited for you! Happy launch day! Job well done! 💕
Cheers to you and happy sailing! It is always good to be back at sea.
Your smiles speak volumes. Florence is more beautiful than ever. Thanks for sharing. Happy Memorial Day weekend. 🇺🇸
Love the sailor's pride of the engine in neutral entering Portsmouth ... "we're true sailors ... engine totally optional!" ;-) TBH I can still remember the first time I sailed single handed, engine off, and took my mooring first try. I actually looked around and said ... "Did anyone see that!?!" it was crickets... sigh, but it was then I knew, I could have skippered the Santa Maria!
My two favorite channels (Florence and Sailing Ran) leaving a shed and a barn on the same day! What a great Friday. Congratulations!
So pleased for you two - a vastly updated boat, plans for new adventures, and your production quality just gets better all the time. Top channel by top people.
Yea,.. I love Matt & Amy. My ancestors left Yorkshire in 1608 as Englishmen living in America. I’m an American but England is, still & always will be, our mother country.
Love this channel! Congratulations on getting Florence launched!
Credit to you both. Entertaining and great content. Hope you continue to enjoy your adventures together.
Great to see you guys back on the water again. Fantastic job refitting Florence, she looks amazing. Looking forward to the next set of adventures.
Y'all work so well together. A ton of work done, great job. Dee and Deb
You both should be very proud of yourselves for what you've accomplished, you talk about 6-months being a long refit - no way, very few couples could've achieved what you've done in 6-7 months. But we do need drone shots of her at sea again.
As a non-sailor, I'm not sure I have what it takes to maintain a boat. I'm really humbled how much work it takes.
Wow…I was getting a bit emotional watching Florence coming out of the shed. Hmm She looks fantastic. Well done.
Looking amazing after all the hard work you did for all those months, you must be feeling proud and happy to b on the water again
I've been watching you two for years. What a wonderful team you make, and your boat is amazing ! Love your videos and hope for many other episodes to come !
Sailing Florence,is the first sailing vlog on RUclips that I discovered.
I must admit that Florence looks to be in Bristol condition after her refit.
I Love You guys and I thank you for taking me along on your epic adventures ❤️
That's an amazing effort guys. Good on you both.
Wonderful to see you both at the helm sailing Florence. You did a lot of hard work on the re-fit and Florence is in "ship shape"!
As a solo sailor I can really appreciate how well you two work as a team, ❤ keep sailing guys the boat looks great.
Lot of time and hard work invested, but def beats having to work for a living lol😊
Well done, well done! The sight of Florence with full sails and the smiles on your faces say it all!👍😊
I started watching your channel when you started the refit and have really impressed with way you have tackled such a huge and complex task. You are truly an amazing couple and wish all the best for the future, you deserve it. Well done. Looking forward to following you as you journey north.
Amazing job people and still full of life and excitement. Such a positive attitude to all your work, journeys, and going forward. Looking to join again from my comfort zone as you embark on your next journey. Florence is looking really good and fitting for your up and coming adventures
Can’t quite believe seeing Florence sailing the familiar Solent waters having watched her sail around the world with you guys. What an amazing story you guys have. Really looking to seeing you sail around the UK. Great channel.
You are such a good team. Envious of your youth and your ability to do the things you want to do. Sucks to get old!
Looks beautiful (and practical) - fantastic work you two!
You guys are incredible!
Add a pizza stone in the oven, it will transform the oven, and you will now be able to make cakes, and bread, without turning them around by hand.
Wow...Florence looks amazing back on the water. You have both given her a completely new lease of life and I cant wait for your new adventures to begin
Seeing you both smiling whilst under sail is just beautiful! Bravo
Excellent to see Florence looking so bright and shiny . The two of you did a great job and it is great to see you both so happy now that you are back on the water .
Six months is a pretty quick refit. Well done beautiful people!.
Congratulations on your launch, you must be very proud of your hard work, she’s looking grand 🎉
Hello Florence crew, you both have done a pretty good work, congratulations! Now enjoy Florence, you deserve It!
Congratulations on getting back out sailing.
Watching you raise the genoa and seeing it flapping in the breeze it appeared that Florence was chaffing at the bit and raring to go...
Amy and Matt the glowing smiles on your faces tells just how happy you guys are out sailing again with Florence.
Cheers
Amazing work guys. So happy to see Florence in the water again. I almost can't believe it myself given the state she was in a few months ago!
So glad to see you back on the water and on Florence as well. Looking forward to your new adventures ❤
Congratulations again you guys deserve an easy float, can't wait for the real journey to start again
This looks like a brand new boat and for all intensive purposes it is!
Guys this was a great journey on the dry, and now back on the water. Florence is looking sooo crisp, new. Well done!
My Goodness me, Florence looks brand new, A JOB WELL DONE 👏👏👏
Go Flo Go, good to see back on the water.
Congratulations. I'm delighted for you both 👏👏👏. You'll find you've got a new burst of energy to get the job finished and get sailing asap.
Florence looks fabulous.
I so happy you've got new modern techi stuff for your new adventure...which I can't wait for😂. All the best. 💚
🎉🎉🎉Wow!! Completed in 6 months! I'm watching a few refits that have been taking years, so well well done you two!! Can't wait to see you out on that beautiful big blue ocean again where you belong...😊🎉🎉🎉
Hi Matt/Amy. Wow, I didn't realise you were out of the water for 6mts. You both have done so much work into the time you had. A brilliant bit of work, "Florence " looks fabulous now. Keep up the good work, because you're the best Channel by far. 👌👏💯🫡🇮🇪
Congratulations on what you accomplished over winter! Looking forward to the next adventures!
Hello, good afternoon Miss Amy and Mr. Matt, you have definitely done an excellent job, without a doubt.
Well, well done.
Now she's a cute British Oyster girl 🇬🇧
It's great to see you back on the water.
Fantastic to be back on the water, Matt and Amy. Congratulations. You are both legends!
You guys did so much work is this the best florence has ever been?
I was excited just watching you unwrap the new oven so can’t imagine how thrilled you were. Boat is looking fabulous. Home Sweet Home
Florence looks magnificent! WELL DONE you two. I'm so proud of you.
So excited for you. Time for a new journey in this beautiful world. Thank you for taking us along.
Congrats guys on a big achievement in just 6 months 👏
You Florentines! All that done in six months. It's a mere pit-stop. You worked hard, you worked smart, you worked tidy and you worked four moves ahead.
Had a feeling no diesel would enjoy sitting for that time even a good one like your Nanni (or was it Yanmar; they're both good).
Good luck with the finishing touches. From the Antipodes - the warm sunny one.
Well done guys Florence really does look great. A credit to you both. Always good to see nice and competent people doing this.
You make it all look so easy. A great old-fashioned team and partnership! Congratulations on finishing the harder parts of the refit.
Well done and congrats to you both. She looks grand.
I'm not worried about Florence...
I'm worried about you !
Good to see that VHF antenna up on the mast where it belongs, height is might with radio :)
