"Do bats carry diseases?" Oh my sweet summer child... The last 2 years suggest that yes, yes they do... Also rabies...

    • @mnomadvfx
      @mnomadvfx 2 года назад +8

Yeah but to be technical so do we, and so do minks and various other mammals.
The thing about bats is that they are mammals and therefore fairly close to humans genetically, but like birds they can also fly from place to place picking up viral vectors as they go.
Essentially bats have their pride of place because they can fly, no other reason - though presumably they also have significant resistance to most of these things as they so often pass them on without being dramatically infected (aka disease carriers).
SO ironically while people be hating on bats now the key to beating the problem of bats transmitting diseases from the rest of the animal kingdom to us is likely learning from bats immune system response to these diseases.

From Wikipedia about his style, “Nolan is partial to elliptical editing, documentary-style lighting, hand-held camera work, natural settings, and real filming locations over studio work. Embedded narratives and crosscutting between different time frames is a major component of his work, and his films often feature experimental soundscapes and mathematically inspired images and concepts.” I tend to agree, it’s pretty cool. Batman is ultimately a ninja and ninjas tend to have a lot of hand to hand combat.

    So I got some trivia:
-Ra's al Ghul (pronounced "raish") is the leader of the League of _Assassins_ (changed to League of Shadows in the film trilogy), a group of eco-terrorists and surprise, surprise: assassins. Members that come to my immediate thought are Shiva, Damian Wayne (Robin), and Cassandra Cain (Batgirl/Orphan).
-In the film, Ra's has scape goats to explain his "immortality". In the comics, Ra's uses something called Lazarus Pits which can revive the dead with the price of temporary madness upon revival. This has allowed Ra's to live for centuries.
-Scarecrow is one of the villains that appeared very early in Batman's run (I think Golden Age) but it was a long while until he became the villain he is known for today. Originally, he became evil because his co-workers made fun of his shabby clothes instead of hounding him on the fact that he fired a gun in a classroom full of students for the sake of a cheap jumpscare in one of his lessons. He would be brought back, forgotten for years, and brought back again, this time with proto fear toxin before evolving into the Prince of Fear. Yeah, it took a while to actually get in on the fear toxin schtick. Sadly, he usually plays second fiddle as a villain, reduced to a mere supporting side character.
-There are a lot of allusions to Frank Miller's Year One story with Flass, the bat attractor, and the Joker ending to name a few.

You said something like, "...let's watch Batman...," which connotes in many people's minds the campy TV series and Tim Burton's stylized movie. But that's what made the Nolan trilogy an epic example of presenting the gravitas of the Batman character. Unlike a lot of wise-cracking superheroes in other movies, Nolan took the character seriously. An extremely serious take on Batman, which is why it is so good.

This is still a great film Batman Begins is still my favourite Nolan Batman movie has the best Gotham City and overall tone and feel which was missing from The Dark Knight even though i find Dark Knight to be the better movie it's Gotham was the weakest for me. The Dark Knight Rises also suffers from that same problem just wasn't a fan of it's rendition of Gotham City but still enjoyed the film overall wouldn't call it awful at all.
Here's my personal rating below for the movies my personal opinion of course but they pretty much changes places a lot lol mostly my top 5 favourites.
    1. Mask of the Phantasm (DCAU "DC Animated Universe") - Highly Recommend, Love this film If you want that retro old meets new 1930s look then this movie is for you based in the Animated Series it's an isolated story so you don't have to watch the show to understand it. Can watch right away as well as it isnt connected to the live action movies.
    2. The Batman (Reeves Verse) - Favourite Live Action Batman film just amazing film with an amazing rendition of Gotham gave me massive Arkham Knight vibes my third favourite Gotham behind the Animated Series and Tim Burton’s. Have a feeling you guys will love this movie maybe more so than The Dark Knight.
    3. The Dark Knight Returns Part 1 & 2 (Base on the Comic) - Love this film still can't decide if I prefer the comic or the film as both are amazing one of the few comic adaptations to be regarded as being better than it's source material. This was a hard pick as I really love these two films hard pick between The Batman (2022) and The Dark Knight Returns.
    4. Batman The Dark Knight (Nolan Verse) - Amazing film but it's Gotham is by far the weakest filmed in Chicago and just looks like Chicago which is my biggest problem with the film. But of course the story and characters make this film.
    5. Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker (DCAU) - Great Movie the setting is also very unique set in the DCAU but the setting puts a nice spin on it.
    6. Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero (DCAU) - Recommend so much love the story in this one very emotional and is by far the best rendition of Mister Freeze. Also set in the DCAU but it's also a isolated story.
    7. Batman 1989 (Burton Verse) - Love this film mostly from a visual standpoint just such a fun and unique film.
    8. Batman Returns (Burton Verse) - Really love Batman Returns far darker than the first film and dives more into that Gothic artistic.
    9. Batman Under The Red Hood (Based on the Comic) - Great movie set in it's own continuity just like Batman The Dark Knight Returns.
    10. Batman Begins (Nolan Verse) - Love this film by far Nolan's best Gotham but the sequel in terms of villain and story is better.
    11. The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan Verse) - Fun film but the weakest in the Nolan series for me.
    12. Batman: The Long Halloween Part 1 & 2 (Based on the comic's) - Really love these animated films but just so many other better films but it does have that fun 1930s vibe to it along with showing a younger side of Batman his first being a detective very The Batman in these regards. Pretty sure The Batman was inspired by Long Halloween comic's along with Year 1 etc.
    13. Batman Forever (Tim Burton Verse)
Batman Forever is technically apart of the Tim Burton films. Not a bad film but I personally don’t mind it)
    14. Batman & Roblin (Joel Schumacher but is very disconnected from the Tim Verse) - Meh as a kid i kind of enjoy how over the top it was but the campy stuff was done so much better in the 1960s Batman had more charm to it. This film very much damaged Batman on live action film for years until Nolan's Batman Begins. The DCAU on the other hand kept us happy throughout the late 1990s lol
Out of the animated stuff i highly recommend The Mask of the Phantasm and The Dark Knight Returns both films you can watch whenever don't need any other insight on Batman to understand.

    "It's definitely not okay."
Note that Gordon looks to the left and down, indicating he is lying and does not believe it himself. And Bruce's head lifting up, even surprised, and his expression changed indicating he does feel mildly reassured. The question is what can make a kid in that situation feel better than they are?
Probably not something like "Your parents are dead and that's what it is" or even how tactless the commissioner was in talking to Bruce. It's horrible and you can't change what Bruce will go through, but if a stranger were to tell them anything, it would be to remind them of everything else they still have, which can keep them away from the darkness.

"Wait, who is that kid? Is he Draco Malfoy?"
No, but he does end up playing a legendary epic bad guy.....King Joffrey Baratheon. So you weren't too far off. Probably 2 of the most well known & despised villains in recent film history.

Unfortunately, Draco Malfoy is beloved in the fandom. Fangirls and fanboys thirst over that guy. Its actually a bit disconcerting to normal rational people really.

The thing that always gets me is that just after Bruce was arguing that he won't be the cause of the "prisoner's" death, he then sets up the cause of the prisoner (and a bunch of ninjas') death. Then later, he tells Dugall [or Ras] "I won't kill you, but I don't have to save you" but it's from his destruction, he was the cause of the train falling, him "not saving" IS the same as him killing.

@@dracoargentum9783 There's an oft-repeated line throughout the movie about the difference between vengeance, justice and compassion. Of course, you could say I'm wrong and there's no difference. But I don't think forcing someone to do something is justice or compassion.
