I absolutely LOVE how clean and badass this came out! Before this, i would have probably spent hours literally trying to draw and replicate the image onto the transfer paper but this is just going to save me so much more time and sectioning off the shaded regions is GENIUS for a New Beginner in Tattooing like me haha Good Luck and Thank You!

Really useful video, I like it. Good stencil to me is like half the job done when done properly. One thing about scaling, as you said that you don't know if you can scale it in photoshop, you actually can. One way to do it properly is when making new document/file, you have to set Document Type to your preference, I'm from Europe so I use International Paper type and then select size A4, then just adjust my resolution to 600 pixels/inch as you do, for better quality and then when this is done and I have all set up ready to print, I just rescale it( CTRL+T). When you rescale something, you have dimensions written in that tiny black box it says something like W : 10,00 cm H : 10,00 cm and when you are scaling it, those numbers are changing, you just scale until you get what you want and then just press CTRL+P for printing and press print.
The other way to get your perfect size in photoshop is - make your design (document type and size doesn't matter, only good resolution), then when you're done, again press CTRL+P for printing, but don't just press Print right away, this is where rescaling happens. You have two options here, again you can rescale it by hand on the left side of that print settings, where you drag that corner points around, and you can even position your design where on the paper you want it to be - idk if it's small, I like to position it somewhere on the top an when you're done, again just press print and that's it. The other way of rescaling in that print settings, is to just scroll down on the right side of that window where you have Printer Setup, Color Management, Description, etc. until you find section Position and Size and there you have sub-section called Scaled Print Size, where you can type in your desired size in Heigh and Width or in percents.
However, I find it easier to just rescale it and position it in the left side where printing preview is. I hope that everything is understandable as my english isn't that good. Maybe I can do screenshots with descriptions and send it to you, but I don't know how to to it on yt so I can just email that to you, if anyone doesn't understand. Well maybe I'll do a quick video about it.
Anyway keep doing your job dude, you're awesome! And good luck :)

Another top quality video. Thanks Oliver, I appreciate these vid's a hell of lot. I am 4 tattoo's in and the quality of my art is improving so much faster thanks having access to your high quality videos and being able see a professional at work. Also your narration is bang on, you enplane things in detail, but simply and clearly at the same time unlike other youtube tattooing tutorials. Some are less experienced than me where others just go overboard not mentioning any names. (tattoo university lol.)
I am under house arrest for the next 8 months and your videos will stop me from turning in one of those dirty backyard tattooists.
i intend to seek an apprenticeship after my sentence is finished but I brought a gun online (not Chinese) to do a cover up of a swastika from when i was 15 and I court the bug. BAD and can't wait 8 month for more ink
Thanks again Oliver you have saved me from ruining my best canvas ME!! 😁🎨🈸🈺🈴☜(゚ヮ゚☜)🎯👌🤛👏🤘🤟😸😁😆😁

26:38 Neat little trick if you need to retrace the stencil after removing the picture: put the stencil paper on top of the picture (without the ink sheet), trace the line directly on the stencil paper, then trace it again with the ink sheet underneath the stencil paper.

only downfall with not using the a4 paper as a stencil is that if you mess up the stencil on the skin you have to redraw the whole stencil , while on a regular a 4 peper you get at least 3 - 4 chances . but stencil paper follows the skin better for sure
