Did you ever get any fruit? I have some extremely tiny trees right now, like almost microscopic lol. I hope they fruit this year but probably next year. I am debating getting a rooted one from ebay because I'm impatient.

Hi Ben, joined you via Virginia Fruit Grower, I'll be catching up on your videos. I'm also trying to grow these from seed. Incredibly challenging at this age as the are so tiny and delicate 🤪🤪

That's incredible you got am to grow from seeds usually they get a fungus on them & don't sprout. Here in Barbados we propagate via cuttings or airlayering

I think I got lucky with the seeds, but didn't get lucky trying to root cuttings or even keeping a plant alive that a friend sent me. I ended up with around 10 plants of varying size. Here's an update video that I did yesterday. ruclips.net/video/KPd8qaIaaGE/видео.html

can you grow these from cuttings? i havent seen anything on that on the internet. i have a red and yellow variety and i would love to propagate the yellow one. the yellow fruit are way bigger and sweeter than the red ones.

Did you end up separating them or letting them grow all together in clusters like that? I have some growing in cups right now, and there is about 2-3 in each cup. They're at about the same stage in size, should I just leave them or should I separate mine?

So, around 8 months to germinate?

I don't know if that's normal, but it's how long it took for me. They grow really fast once they get going, though.

@@EastsideGardening I had no idea and got frustrated after 40 days 😅 yesterday I was looking at my germinated Ravenala seeds, was thinking that I need those calabura pots and ended up planting them in there without disturbing the soil too much, so I guess I'll see if the same happens with mine as I'll be watering those pots for the Ravenalas...

Nice! Once they get a little bigger past this stage they shoot up really fast and can come into fruiting in a year or so.

Hope so. We liked them. Like cotton candy tasting tidbits.

I've heard that before. Interesting to see so many trees trying grow out of one small berry.

@@violethouseworth5943 Thanks for watching and the suggestions. We've grown ground cherries before in the yard, and they were very tasty and productive.
