As always, great review, Joe. If I decide to replace my 2018 Rav4 Hybrid, this vehicle in XSE trim is definitely a possibility. The only thing is, good luck finding this vehicle (or most any other Toyota, especially hybrids) on dealership lots for sale. I wish that you, along with other reviewers would address this issue that has affected nearly every manufacturer, but in particular seems to be an unending one for Toyota and Lexus. And the supply chain excuse is growing old, especially now that we're approaching the halfway point of 2023, with 2024 models either here already or right around the corner.
Happy to see a manufacturer finally furnish the press a mid-tier (SE) version to drive/review rather than a fully-loaded (ie, XSE) like they normally do lol. Looking forward to test-driving one of these as soon as they become available here in central Florida.
You could be waiting a long time. I've been waiting for one to show up at Toyota dealer near me. I was assured as soon as one is on way, I would get an email, pics and a call. It's been a couple months already and no sign of one. The poster above made an excellent point about auto manufacturers, dealer and even reviewers not addressing the elephant in the room. The Toyotas just aren't available, but you wouldn't know that by the TV commercials. In my market and I'm sure it is the same in most, Toyota has their commercials on every 5 minutes. It's annoying and doesn't address reality.
Joe and STEVEN thanks for bringing this COROLA CROSS HYBRID to us! LOV VE HYBRIDS. LOVE THIS car!NICE colors! I,ll see you guys on another ride. GLAD to share this video.
Hi Joe, love your reviews. Here's my 2 cents, I think its better to use the old-fashioned edison bulbs only cuz they're so much easier to pay for and swap out. i've seen so many LED bulbs that are out on cars every day and i'd hate to have to pay for the whole unit (unless you're ocd) vs swapping out a $10 bulb.
Great little vehicle……awesome mpg. Loved York peppermint patties ! 👍. I think the cargo net holder could hold a fish that you just caught……and you have the roof cross bars to hold the rods. Good selling point 😎 🐟 🎣
These look pretty nice for the money. Sadly, I just looked locally. I see our local dealers are still marking up all the toyotas from $1K to $8K (except the bZ4X which are discounted). I just can't imagine spending $42K on a corolla Cross XSE (which is all that's showing up for 50 miles). Even the Corolla Hybrid sedans are marked up $8K ☹

Europe will be receiving the ZR-V (the name for the North American Honda HR-V in Europe and Japan) with a hybrid powertrain. It will use the same powertrain as the Civic e:HEV, which is 181hp and 232lbft of torque from a 2.0 hybrid setup. Front wheel drive is only offered in Europe, but consumers in Japan can opt for 4WD too.
That has always bothered me that Europe gets all the new models BEFORE America! The USA tends to be the larger market. Wise up Honda Toyota and Lexus. I might have to buy a Ford or Chevy! Just kidding.
Toyota should have the LCD and they should be more generous for the seats. Toss the console cover for Pleather. Cloth vs Pleather at the SE level needs to be offered.
They probably put the AWD on the side because there is already FOUR! other!! labels on the back. One thing I’ve always found funny about car companies’ decisions to do that. Corolla Cross SE Hybrid … AWD
I’m agonizing over which to get. Prius for fuel economy but Cross Hybrid for seat height and cargo. I’m not liking the idea of needing to adjust seat in Prius so I can see if everything but then will probably hit my head when exiting.
I was really interested in this until I heard you say you are 6' tall. I'm 6'4" and 250. It looks to me like I'd be cramped. I'm currently in a Jeep Patriot and I don't think this will be my new SUV. I need more room than this.
Dunno why toyota did not give us rear amber turn signals like on all other markets outside n. America....they are safer snd really do not cost more as they already on the vehicle outside this market.
fr!!! idk why they omit them, the brake lights/ turn signals are so small compared to the other market crosses...I'd hope those are plug n play and maybe try to buy and ship over here lol
Like the funny “Half Zonk” for the lower trim. You’re right though. It’s just okay. Might look weird without it. It’s not functional like the original purpose of protection from door-dings.
I´m glad that I can my 2022 Kia Sportage 1.6 L Turbo 180 HP 48 V mild Hybrid, 7 speed DCT, with a weight from 3600 lbs drive with over 40 mpg on the German Autobahn, whats the point of this full Hybrid with 38 mpg on the Highway?
Good video, but there's a couple of points I'd make. Commenting on the appearance of the front of the vehicle is fine, but don't you have a licence plate on the front as well as the rear? That's going to make a difference. Given that this is on the Internet and the World Wide Web, this will be viewed around the globe. I'm British viewing this in Thailand. We're used to converting from miles per US gallon to miles per UK gallon (about 20% more) or litres per 100 km. Plus, cubic feet to litres. When it comes to the size of the storage under the centre armrest using a camera and your hand might be best to show the size. I've no idea if the size of the items you mention, although that may help US viewers. I have to say those fuel consumption figures look very good. Hybrids seem like a good compromise for those who regularly have to travel longer distances or don't have access to a reliable and widespread charging infrastructure. I'll check out your video on the higher spec Corrola Cross.
I am a big fan of Toyota. But I am not a fan of the looks of the Corolla Cross. I like your review though. Idk. Maybe it will grow on me in a few years.
Hey Raiti! What kind of car(s) do you own? Have you ever purchased a vehicle that you've reviewed? Which car is undeniably fun to drive over all others?
Some chrome would have made this vehicle pop too much flat black on this vehicle it would have been nice to see some chrome finish especially on the fender. Also not digging the roof racks on a vehicle with a sunroof. If they wanted roof racks on this vehicle it would have been better to not have a sunroof or if they wanted a sunroof then don’t put roof racks on it. It just doesn’t work for me to have both.

Lousy engine transmission A+ no all-wheel drive couldn't even give the people an armrest in the backseat put a Bose system in it like they have in the old model and leave the height alone

You can get the HRV in AWD. For $3-4k more you can get a CRV Sport Hybrid that's way bigger and has more power.
Unfortunately some people dont have those 3-4k ....they have to pick between more hp and space and food for the family
More power sure, but the Corolla cross hybrid is still quicker on account of weight
You have to remember for many who live and drive near cities, bigger isn’t necessarily better. It can be a real drag.
I think most buyers will go the hybrid trim just to save extra fuel and I think at trim Toyota will profit more
