    I would rather hear him the follow up question of WHICH laws. He said that he would "support any laws that keep the hands out of deranged killers"? It begs the question: LIKE WHAT? Closing gun show loopholes? Banning private sales? Mandatory waiting periods? Stricter criteria for passing the background check (current laws allow people with weapons violations and mental health issues to get guns perfectly legally)? Overturning laws that allow guns to be purchased by stalkers, domestic abusers and people on terrorist watchlists? Making the bump stock turn ins mandatory instead of voluntary? Registering weapon sales? Like, name one law you support, Rubio. One.

    The NRA not only thwarts gun legislation, it also intentionally warps the 2nd amendment to not mean what it actually meant. Otherwise they would have to demand meaningful legislation on how state militias are to be organized, armed and commanded because that is the sole reason given for keep private gun ownership as free as possible. If someone is not in a well regulated militia, which is the entire proposition of the 2nd, why do you deserve gun ownership as a privilege? You don't want to provide the duty established by the amendment by not being in a regulated militia.

    ... im kinda torn on this one. i feel like ... as a society. we need to be willing to discuss underlying problems of real things if we want real solutions. wealth inequality is real, but the way out isnt simply taxing the rich, its giving people tools to acess more wealth. the underlying problem which is lack of acess to markets, banks who routinely pray on the poor, and lack of financial literacy. the problem behind the drug crisis in modern western society is a MSM that glorifies alcholism and drug use nonstop, and refuses to talk about the causes people turn to these drugs to begin with. imo, the same argument holds true about guns. if someone robs your house and you live in a western society. odds are, all your shit, is gone. if you live in a middle class neighborhood, the police wont get the guy, and you will never see your property again. there are problems in the society that are manifesting themselves with these shootings. i dont know if taking away guns from people would solve that problem.

      @Mauris that's such a straw man argument. The NRA makes most of its money from gun industries... so, yes they need guns to sell to make money indirectly...so of course their argument is to stop guns we need more guns, hence "we need to arm teachers". Gun industries funds NRA, and the NRA funds politicians.

    • @Dfree1014
      @Dfree1014 5 лет назад +1

      @Mauris i don't know if I should continue reading if you can't understand membership is not where most of the revenue is coming from. Its less than half and it might actually be lower because some gun manufacturers are literally buying membership for people that purchases their guns. Also some gun manufacturers give a percent of sales directly to the NRA in a form of "donation" hence I said they are making money from gun sales INDIRECTLY. never said they sell guns.

      Mike P the NRA support doing the bare minimum and then say it doesn’t work and we should do less. They claim to support backgrounders checks but not if it means waiting 3 days or more for all the information can be gathered. They support background checks if it doesn’t mean someone who has a history of domestic violence can’t buy a gun, or someone who is deemed unsafe to drive because they are older can’t see so great anymore can’t get a gun. So no I don’t give them credit for supporting backgrounders checks as long as they don’t work at actually keeping guns from anyone.

      Evol_AF, The issue is about the appearance of being financially influenced by special interest groups. Rubio could have said that I support the second amendment, but I will not take money from any gun lobbyist, and if I find out that money was accepted from these gun rights groups, I will donate that money to a charity of my choosing. That alone would have been enough for him to keep his respect concerning this issue.

    • @animatedw00d94
      @animatedw00d94 5 лет назад

      @@Thr33.Sid3z, Rubio does not work for the NRA. He works for the American citizenry that voted for him, and not some special interest group seeking special legislation to support their causes. It does not matter if Rubio's opinions are the same as the NRA, and simply taking money from them gives the appearance of impropriety. Rubio can have the same opinions as the NRA and not take their money and still win reelection. The same goes for democrats who take any special interest groups money.
      Do you really think that Rubio can not get reelected without special interest money supporting his cause? Does his constituents not seek his reelection with ample financial support for his beliefs? Their has already been politicians who have ran and won elections without seeking any special interest money. There has also been plenty of politicians who have come close to winning and not taken any special interest money as well. If Rubio's beliefs are popular enough with his constituents, then he does not need any financial support outside his constituents.
