Thank You for this. Of course it will take me all day, not 8 minutes :) 2011 Ranger. RockAuto is sending me a generic fits-all Dorman cable. The truck has less than 20K miles. Sits so much I've had a battery minder hooked up. Battery acid overflowed I think. Also major damage to the cable going around the corner of battery. A few months ago replaced the headlights with some LED, not good. Maybe I did damage then. New cable and OEM lights going back in soon. What happened? I dunno. Thx

Tulebox, The pliers were a part of a Matco Plier set that we purchased many years ago as a 11 piece set. This is a link to a portion of the set which has become very expensive www.matcotools.com/catalog/product/HGG3SB/3-PIECE-11-GREEN-HOSE-GRIP-PLIERS-SET/. Now if you want the harbor frieght version which will work this is the link www.harborfreight.com/3-piece-long-reach-hose-grip-pliers-37909.html. Thanks, this is a one time job, so HarborFreight will do just fine. I tried removing that compressed clamp with a pair of flat nose pliers, and it's nearly impossible to do, and I don't want to damage it.
Thank You for this video I was able to finally remove and replace my cable. For the past 15 or so years you’d have to use pliers to open the hood.
