    I just got the 01 Ford Focus a day ago. It needs the trunk latch, left mirror, hood latch and hood release cable to be replaced. I'm in highschool and don't really know about cars, so I usually have to ask my twin brother or look online. I knew I needed to get a few parts, but thanks to you guys and this video I think I'll hopefully be able to replace the hood release cable easily. Attaching the red wire to be able to easily pull out the old and insert the new is brilliant. Thanks again! 😆✊🚗🏁

    Great video. Really helpful on putting it into my 2007 Ford Focus. The tying String / Wire to the end made it a lot easier to pull the cable back through - excellent idea. My Rubber Bung was easier to get out, but I used a wide large flat head screwdriver to pry it up first, then pulling on the cable and it popped right out. Thanks!

    Thank you for the video. And I so appreciate you showing the rubber thing that didn't want to come out. If I run into that, I will know. It was very thorough. Great job!

    Where is the hood latch? Like where do you go to initially pop the hood? I just bought this car and I need an oil change but I can’t pop the hood and the guy I bought it from won’t let me know how to pop the hood.

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  4 года назад

      +Anthony Gulick Thanks for checking us out! On the earlier models this is actually in the emblem on the grille. You will have to push the emblem up and use your key to open the hood. Turn the key to the left to pop it and then right and hold to move the hood up. I hope this helps!

      try lubricating the latch with penetrating fluid. and then cycle it multiple times.

    Excellent info except Ford in their absolute lack of engineering wisdom made the cable end receiver out of plastic. After 10-12 years they all break. No direct aftermarket replacement available but you can use 2004 & kinda make it work!
    Plus they made it almost impossible to remove & replace latch without modification to the plastic radiator bracket which also mounts the latch! Can anyone say stupid complex design?! Have you driven a Ford lately? Quality is No NONE!!
