Would really like to see a video on how to reduce excess slack/sagging from a release cable without replacing the cable or the release handle. Overtime, my Accord's cable developed enough sag which makes it stick to the radiator, so can't open at the worst, most critical time. The cable is otherwise intact and functions when engine cools down. Thanks in advance!
I replaced my release cable but my original had 2 grommets attached but the new only had one. So I took one off the old and put it on the new where it goes above the headlights. Also I took the cable holders off the old and reused them to hold the cable back where they were instead of using zip ties. I found the reason why my cable broke. When I had the AC condenser replaced, the dealership mechanic place the cable in front instead of behind the mount and it was tightened down so when I opened the hood, the cable was so tight that it did open the hood but it also snapped. Just a FYI for future people who take their AC condenser to be replaced. The issue I do have is that the cable seems tight when pulling on the release. I'm going to have to troubleshoot that to see why it's hard to pull.
