This is how you do a soulless, emotionless villain properly. Fatal mistake of many actors when they do something similar is they end up boring. Here, she did a phenomenal job

not only that but when she does show emotion, it doesn't feel out of place especially when she's either angry, or taking sadistic glee in tormenting and killing Aslan.

Tilda Swinton was phenomenal as the White Witch. Great acting, great costume and make-up design, and her own physical appearance and attributes just really served her well to play a very intimidating witch with tremendous power. She was sorely missed in the next two movies. (Yes, I know she had cameos but I mean in any meaningful capacity).

Anna was originally written as the only main protagonist that will give Elsa her goodness back so Elsa can redeem herself.

"All the ordinary people," said Polly, "who'd never done you any harm. And the women and the children and the animals."
"Don't you understand?" said the Queen (still speaking to Digory, "I was the Queen. They were all my people. What else were they there for but to do my will?...I had forgotten that you are only a common boy! How should you understand reasons of the state? You must learn, child, that what is wrong for you or any of the common people is not wrong for a Queen as great as I. The weight of the world is on our shoulders. We must be freed from all rules. Ours is a high and lonely destiny."
She genocided her entire world (and several others) just to rule. When I read that part as a kid I was shuddering. I can't imagine being so entitled that killing every living thing would be "okay" so long as I'd get to rule. Scary stuff.

I know you meant it as a joke, but yeah, Jadis' bitchslap IS dangerous; she has superhuman strength. In the book The Magician's Nephew she is described as snapping a steel lantern post in her hand as though it were a twig, and when she slaps Edmund's face in the book he is described as being stunned, that is, knocked unconscious for a short time. Jadis' slap makes the guy who delivered the Twisted Tea bitchslap look lightweight.

Had she been just a tad more vocal in this film, she’d have gone down as one of the great movie villains. Her lines were profound but there weren’t enough of them. What a killer look too. Really helps to basically be the David Bowie of the acting world though,

Jadis was indeed depicted as powerful in this (the fire-extinguishing spell was an extra, film-based one, but still visible, given that most of her magic is ice-based), but I do hope at some point there'll be a film version of the first one, The Magician's Nephew, in all her self-freezing, wall-crumbling, Deplorable Wording, world-ending glory- superhuman strength and athleticism aside. They could do it; Tilda Swinton's still pretty!
