CORRECTIONS: As it turns out, I had forgotten that I had taken the blower off this engine at one point and changed the cam for a truck application. The new cam is a Comp hydraulic roller, and I can't honestly tell you the specs, but it's not the 230/236 I mentioned.. I THINK it's a 224/230, 0.510/0.510, 110 LDA. Also the trans is a 4L85E; I said 4L80E one time.
No one can describe cars like David Frieburger...wealth of knowledge right there.

This is my favourite version of the crusher .
Mike and Dave you two have become my 2 favorite people. You guys teach much more then take a piece of crap and drive it home. You teach these young kids and older people how to adapt and over come with a great attitude. And you guys teach how to work with your hands and be a,informed educated person

I dreamt about saving cars like this and watched the build back when hot rod was cool. Very cool to see she still exists.

To anyone else who spotted what looks like the Icon Derelict DeSoto in the background you are correct, it was Jonathan Ward's personal car at the time. I believe it was featured on the cover of Hot Rod Magazine around this time as well which is why it was at their shop.

@ballaboy5000 if i remember correctly it was a base coupe. when they bought it, it had a 6 banger in it with a 2 speed powerglide.

Icon Derelict in the Background?

Tyler Christiansen While Fryburger is showing the shifter, that they will install, you can see a grill of a car called Icon Derelict which is a modern engine, suspension and breaks car with everything else old, it's rusted outside, it's dirty but inside it's in good condition but still original looking. It's a station wagon. You can also catch a portion of it from the side when Fryburger first shows the Crusher Camaro in the garage.

+Bruno Santana It's a magazine car, it will change again I am sure, they get given sponsor parts to review and stuff, the motor thats in it now doesn't even belong to them LOL! He has hinted in the last episode of hot rod garage that the current one isn't his favorite redux of the crusher, and he said it will change again. My guess is it will go back to something like this eventually!
