I think they were, lore-wise, near the end. You don't see them in the show since obviously the model didn't exist yet. Romulans came up with the Mogai to replace all the D'Deridex losses during the war. And come up with something more cost-effective to mass-produce.
Balanced battlecruiser is a tricky thing. It was said to readily outlast an Ambassador heavy cruiser, punch through to the nacelle and trigger a core breach. Two could match the Enterprise-E. Heavier forward poleron cannons paired with an assault torpedo wouldn't guarantee victory over a Valdore, but it would be a tough match for both.
The D'Deridex is far larger and has a much larger Torpedo tube with which to fire the Balance of Terror style Plasma Torpedoes (distinct from the Photon Torpedoes used by the Valdore)
I wonder how similar the Romulan Valdore and the Klingon K'Vort are to one another. My assumption is that whoever gets the first shots off first would win, although I believe the Valdore is slightly more advanced? I'm sure it would be a quick battle either way, but I wonder which is the better choice if they actually faced one another. I really enjoy your videos, thank you for posting as often as you do.
Valdore should absolutely stomp the K'vort. I would even bet it would down the Vor'cha. Not because it's so much larger, but because it seems to be faster and more agile. Vor'cha is renown for its firepower and Defenses, but suffers when opponents can linger beyond the Vor'cha forward firing arc.
@@necroticavalon5176 it’s how the ship was named in bc remastered, I haven’t got round to changing it yet. Can’t decide if Norrexan or Morgai is better
God, the Norexan/Valdore/Mogai wouldve been awesome to see in the Romulan armada during DS9.

Doesn’t make sense the D’Deridex has the stronger plasma torpedoes but the Valdore doesn’t.

@@richardched6085 The original plasma torpedo was on a much smaller vessel.
are you using a controller, or are you really THAT good with a keyboard and mouse?
Thanks for the compliment! Just keyboard and mouse here
How would a D’deridex warbird vs battlecruiser go
I think I have that video up

Thank you! I think this would be a short fight in favour of the Valdore, its larger and much more modern.

That was a pretty close fight. I expect the Valdore will need some shipyard time after this one.
I always knew the Norexan/Mogai/Valdore would win... though I may be biased.
The Rommies for the win.
Great battle 🥃🖖🏻
Pretty good balance between the two. I just wish you'd stop calling the ship class 'Valdore'. That's NOT the name of the class, just Donatra's ship.

And either works. :)
