To answer a VERY common question: This method still works. Now, you need to complete your WEEK 18 game instead of WEEK 17 - the game updated to have an extra week each season!

I lost intentionally (though i tested if losing in overtime causes fans to be more content, it didn’t work) I managed to get a 1-star with my coaching credits I traded all of my players. I had 1 1st, 5 2nd, 3 3rd. Then I got a little lucky in my draft. I started with an offensive WR (4S) because defensive players lacked potential. Then I got a QB that luckily had 4.5 star potential, then 3 defensive players that were 3 stars then 1 OL to extend my plays a little and give me time to think (this was the one I would have removed if I hit salary cap, which was around 2/3 because I didn’t have unlimited edition) Tight Ends weren’t good, by the way. Then I didn’t get a single 2-star player or worse during the round, which was lucky. I got 2 1/2 star defensive players and a side WR in case my other one got covered. The advice helped A LOT. Thanks! In just a few level ups my defense is oh so close to being 5 star. Oh yeah, I did pick players with high potential, all of them but 1 have 4 star or higher potential and the other has 3.5 star potential. If you get incredible 2nd draft luck and a 5/5 (prepare for save scumming), prepare for a team built for harder difficulties.

Game with good in-game (gametime) feel to it. The first season is an easy route to the superbowl with enough variability/challenge to make it seem like you struggled (i.e. your 1 star defense actually does stop the other offense once in most games), but after season 1 (full season) the game gets exponentially harder and defense (even 4+ star defenses) don't stop harldy anything. Of course, you can pay to help you overcome this. And there is the rub for this game like all "free to play" games.
add on: like all "free to play" games, after season 1-2 this really is a game that is two different games. Since this game does have good in-game play but is your typical "free to play" (manipulative) I give it 3 out of 5 stars.
There’s multiple difficulties. It sounds like you’re playing on Dynamic, which is very transparent about capping at a “level 9” until you win a Retro Bowl, after which it caps at “level 16”. If you want a consistent difficulty, Easy, Medium, Hard, and Extreme all exist. A Y2 team will never be as good as a team you can get with some persistence, in Y5+. This game certainly allows you to pay to get ahead, but you can 100% succeed free-to-play!

I have 6 first rounders on offense & 6 second rounders on defense. 1 five star,3 four & a half stars,1 four star 2 three stars for the offense. On defense 1 four star, 2 three & a half stars, 2 two & a half stars. OFFENSE: 1 QB,1RB,2TE,2WR,1OL.. DEFENSE: 1LB,3DB, SPECIAL TEAMS 1K OFFENSE & DEFENSE STRATEGY: On paper having 1OL and 1LB does not seem like much, but they act as support for each the offense and defense as singular pieces. You get a complete offense with alternating blocking and a defense to closely maximize interceptions while covering sacks in case the sim rolls one for a stop. 2 TE, 1OL, I TESTED IT OUT IN MY PLAYMAKING I KID YOU NOT IT WORKS WONDERS OFFENSIVELY. STRONG DOPE STUFF. 1 LB, 3DB,(equals as 0-1-3 ) DEFENSE. It causes a lot of trouble for my opponents. It just got even better. Thanks to the help of RED RUM. My advice to you Skol Gaming try it with your 12 man roster on difficulty you play on. I played it on easy mode and went undefeated. Won the Retro Bowl. Team: New Orleans Saints. My hometown. I got a damn sweet ass defense, on offense my qb slaps, my receivers are fast and accurate as hell, I get a lot of time to throw because my linemen slap
I did this and had 5 2 star original layers then I got really good players in the draft and then made my team better by doing a trade. The rookies on my team had great potential and by the end of the third year, I had a double five star team
question if you start a new team and your main team is in the playoffs and you loose with your new team and it’s another season will your main team still be in the playoffs?

@@Ma1q444 depending on if you prefer to run or pass, find a 10 speed RB or WR with decent stamina, and run your offense through them while you look for additional talent to surround them with.
@@Ma1q444 DBs I normally carry 3-4, all 4.5+ stars. For OL, the most I ever have is 2, and I typically have 0 or 1. While OL have some value, it’s pretty marginal in the grand scheme of things, with limited salary cap and roster spaces
I was just recently able to get a roster with 4/5 players 2nd round value. But I saw someone on discord post a 5/5 team so he ended up with 6 picks in round 2! Amazing!

Pick 2-3 you want to extend. Keep them, and let everyone else go, restocking through the draft. If you want, you can sign and trade a few guys, but do that BEFORE you sign your keepers.
Definitely tricky. You can trade some of them after your first full season, and spread out your contract renewals. The idea here is to get your team off the ground quickly, more than long-term development
You have to either resign each player, or let them leave in free agency. You can sign-and-trade a player, but that comes with a fairly significant hit to fan support.

Signing and trading a player - signing a player, but only with the intention of immediately trading them. Costs nothing against the cap long-term (only need space to sign them, so that you can trade them). This ultimately leads to you cashing in on players you can’t afford by bringing in draft picks. It does, however, hurt player morale AND fan morale in the process

On step 2 I constantly accidentally giving my self the ball because of it I just kept punt it ended at 6 me 30 opponent
On step 3 I had 1 first rounder 3 second rounder and 5 Third rounder

What about the LB's
LBs generally are the least important of the 3 defensive positions, based on Retro Bowl’s AI favors each position.
All I do is get the best defensive possible and I don’t need a good offence to get many touchdowns

Each save is independent of the other saves. The playoffs aren’t linked to each other.

It depends on how you want to build your team. I normally keep a couple key players, and then trade away the rest so I can stay below the salary cap

Issue you can’t trade you have to cut them
You have to get to the start of Y2, just before the Y2 draft to trade. If you’re still in Y1, it forces you to cut them though
