One way to cheat at offense is to throw it to your key WR right off the line and then side step right or left when the CB comes in for the tackle. Easy 30+ yards especially with a 4-star+ offense.
I realize this vid is older, but here's another tip: When the corners are lined up soft on deep posts or fly patterns (like at 7:58), your receiver will ALWAYS break open past the defenders. Your QB obviously needs the arm to get it there, and you need enough time in the pocket for the play to materialize (which is sometimes tough on "Extreme" difficulty, yet still doable often), but the guy will always eventually break open. In the vid, Skol actually looks at this route and says "it's not gonna be there" before dumping it. I don't know his QB or OL strength, but had he been able to wait a few more moments, the receiver would've come open deep. Try it yourselves. Great video!
2:25 - There are situations in the game, especially when a most passes will get you more than 5 yards, where it is safer to just throw it away and this is one of them. As soon as you snapped the ball, the linebacker went up in double coverage on the top of the field, which the game LOVES to do, by the way, and quite frankly you were lucky to not get picked. Any underthrow and that would have been swallowed up. In short, your video is good for teaching initial reads, but a good RetroBowl player needs to get in the habit of noticing those LB movements on the snap, because they can take a golden looking formation and f it right up.
Very true, but he also left out the outside and inside leverage. When the corner back is doing inside leverage on your wide receiver and he's on a deep post you gotta remember about the safety up top and the inside leverage. But great video
1:03 i have never had a defensive player run away from my receiver and 1:45 that pass for me is intercepted every time. What platform are you playing on?
I find I can win the first season pretty easy, but from the second season it gets harder and harder. My players don't seem to be finding the space yours are
I think this video was recorded in season 13 or 14... the game difficulty has increased for me in general too. It might make a difference what type of receiving targets you have on the roster. I've found when one of my players gets hurt, my healthy key/star players attract more attention from the defense.
@@SkolGamingNetworkYT I'm from the UK so we don't really follow nfl (it's pretty new to me for player positions etc) . Any chance you can do a player guide? I'm sure that a few better signings or training during the season will help with plays
nevermind824 I’ve already been starting to work on one for offense. My goal is to post it this weekend. I’ll definitely be sure to include parts for all levels of players. Thank you for providing some feedback on what your background is, as it helps me to better understand my audience and what needs I should be considering!
I started off by drafting a stud RB and OL. Won the big game in S2 without attempting a pass (default QB) but it gets difficult later on. My "star" QBs are pick machines (because I suck) and my drafted WRs are always toxic. :(
This might be a bit late but depending on your receiver catching stat they will normally jump up to catch the ball. This will also make the receivers dive to catch balls that weren’t accurate.
I've started to do that a little bit. I've found that if the defender is behind me, strafing slows down my WR unless it's right on the heels of a tackle. When the defender is in front, strafing definitely has helped.
@@SkolGamingNetworkYT Yep. I have two star WR's and swerving my receiver will slow down and both of them are maxed out on speed. I've hit my receivers in stride and my longest touchdown is 75 yards, and i've had a bunch of 50's and 60's. Your best bet is to have a strong receiver IMHO because it seems like they hurdle more when defenders are behind them which helps a lot.
I haven’t figured out a magical combination of defenders that will 100% shut down everything. I have found that having 4-5 3 star or better defensive players, along with a good coordinator will get you a 5 star defense, which in my experience has gotten at least 1 defensive stop a game.
@@SkolGamingNetworkYT Odd, i am playing via kongregate so maybe it doesn't work on mobile. but pretty much anywhere will do it. the function may be different on mobile but the ability to do it should still be there. try all the function, long press, short double tap, etc.
On some of the deep shots, they might not be as easy. But reading how a defensive back is positioned and going to move, and making 5-7 yard completions can be done with a bunch of default players
Then you should learn to do that over in Madden 21 console. This video was made for Retro Bowl players. This has absolutely nothing to do with Madden 21.
The update before last made things challenging. Then people complained so now it's easy again. It's tough for the dev, and I feel bad for him. He wants people to have fun, but that normally means making winning "guaranteed" almost.

The tight end is valuable position and should be more utilized. It's a key reason why the Pat's offense was so lethal during their last 3 SBs

I've been using 1 WR and 2 TEs

I fucking grinded so hard on Retro Bowl I've won over 47 retro bowls.

Does a players condition gets low above 50% or below 50% Skol in Retro Bowl?

@@jesusosorio6323 I figured it out but thanks for giving me more clarification
This was a big help. Thanks!
I can’t do this because the defender is tight on top of my receiver from the start
Can you tell them to add an option for tap passing
You could get a lot more yards if you move your receivers across the field after getting a catch

How do u get a lot of coaching credits
Buy them or play a bunch

Why do you always go for a 2 point.
All you really gotta do is do short curl routes with your star wr
Works except for late in the half
When I had 88% passing.........
Also Skol you can know me as TheCocoaBeachMurderer

88% on what difficulty?
