Two very important corrections that I messed up on (Ty to comments for bringing it up): - Nightsoul burst can be triggered so long as a Natlan character is in the party. It doesn’t have to be triggered BY the Natlan character exclusively. The “Natlan Exclusive” part is the cooldown reduction from having more Natlan units. But other characters can still trigger Nightsoul Burst. - Chain Breaker also gives the boost based on the number of different elements in your party. I must’ve misremembered what they said on the livestream regarding nightsoul burst. That’s on me. As for the chain breaker I recall it being only Natlan characters in the beta description. I should’ve double checked to see if it updated. Apologies for the error!

@@guilhermet.660 and the worst part is she is beat by chlorinde in terms of dps unless shes c2 , I have a very good c0 dps raiden and I just don't use her anymore, like at all shes literally benched her dps being locked behind her burst is probably the main reason
i hope the pyro archon can enable the region gimmick, just like furina did for the maerchausse hunter. Because now, it doesn't give any incentive to pull the first natlan characters.
Wouldn't this be a direct upgrade over M.H and blizzard slayer? Has fewer conditions than both to trigger the passive, and immediately gives you a 40% crit rate buff rather than giving in small increments. That's two artifact sets being made obsolete with just one. I hope it doesn't go that route. I dont want to spend another year farming yet another set for all my old characters.
Hi, it`s true Mualani and Kachina are not changing the game so far. But what exactly would you call an incentive? Maybe you are a Vet like me, that is the question we are asking with any new character. For me, the answer is fun. Something new. And Mualani does exactly this: surfing and this with a shark is really fun even if you can use her only in Natlan. Hoping for more fun with Xilonen and or Mavuika.
@@toxicfx_nuhaad9175 A year? ONLY? You're a funny person. I've been farming emblem set since release for 2 years and only have 2 and a half usable sets. Any other pieces are very suboptimal. 1 year for all older characters is insane.
Honestly, lore wise it does make sense since the Natlanians are pretty much bound to their lands, so it would make sense that there was some kind of different evolution of their powers
Too bad this is totally gonna be instantly defeated when they have the Pyro archon (and maybe even the pyro traveler) get the ability to just NEGATE the Nathlan exclusivity by whenever they use an elemental skill, burst or `run enough` on the field just like the current nathlan characters do to extend the gauge, except its gonna be significantly higher more then likely with the pyro archon`s version likely 1.5 or even doubling the length of the exploration mode and night spirit buff lengths i bet and the pyro traveler if they go that route, getting a gimped version of that same gimmick like they have done always for all versions of the elemental traveler, even if its fontaine they specifically started adding additional random gimmicks that has effectively next to nothing todo with the element itself.
@@TsukatsukiRio Worst part is selling the solution (which a lot of times are just quality of life improvements) in the form of characters. Genshin is mastering this and the playerbase seems to be fine with it. However, the moment I saw a new character exclusively do something basic that ALL CHARACTERS from another certain anime game can do (climb faster, spending less stamina) that was it for me, done being a clown.
incorrect, Nightsoul burst happens if anyone in the party trigger elemental damage. Although it can only trigger if you HAVE any Natlan characters in your party
and apparantly only the on fielders will care to have more than one nightsoul burst stack, kachina and (LEAK AHEAD xilonen dont really care for having 2 or 3 nightsoul burst stacks)
I think this misconception is another problem with hoyo not clearly explaining their mechanics, its a really bad problem they have where they don't explain mechanics in an easy to understand way, we didn't get a grip on capturing radiance until like recently
wait, so we can use the natlan 40% crit rate artifact to non-natlan char, as long as at least there is 1 natlan character in the party that does off field elemental damage?
last thing i'd want is have to pull an entire new team just for one unit i like. my collection of characters is already good enough! i won't pull for natlan characters if they're leagues better with other natlan characters than with the units i've invested so much time and resources into
i mean, it is just that for a Natlan dps that uses the new set, you’d want a Natlan support to use the other set.. not THAT much of a sacrifice. besides, pulling for Mavuika seems like a good idea anyway, so it’s not like you’re wasting your pulls
@@grant6864 I only plan to pull for Mavuika. I will NOT be pulling for a useless trash looking support just so my Mavuika can work AS SHE WAS SUPPOSED TO from the start. If this mechanic requires players to spend pulls/real money to pull for other characters to make A SINGLE CHARACTER VIABLE it is a dogshit mechanic that shouldn't be in the game.
Some teams (or atleast 1 team I know off) are already better with having one natlan character as a support on the new set. Mainly talking about navia as the miner drill girl on the new set is her best support. And im sure with new characters coming soon, more old supports would be replaced by them
Mualani is flexible enough, all she needs is off-field Pyro. And for more Natlan-style buffing, there's a free Kachina who can use the new support set. I crystallize Hydro at the start and boom, tons of extra damage for 15 seconds (Pyro crystals buff the Pyro applicators too over time)
my initial thought is that id much rather have this form of feature-creep than blatant power-creep; its not just "X is better than Y" its "X is better than Y under specific circumstances"; in other words, a niche (even if somewhat arbitrary) after the videos thoughts: with the saurians existing i dont think exploration is going to be making the game uncomfortable to play without natlan characters (at least it hasnt for me (if anything, whenever i use kachina in place of a tepetlisaur i feel like i wouldve been better off using a tepetlisaur)), and as of right now natlan-specific niches dont seem to be anything too crazy although with just 3 characters to be looking at its a bit early to say concretely (really 4 characters with all these leaky pipes)
Yes lol, i actually felt like they did a good job with the features, not feature creeping the older characters. Vars also missed the part that nightsoul burst can be triggered by non-natlan characters. I felt like aside from the Natlan characters being quite hard to play (and mualani being clunky because of her auto targetting) there isn't really a problem
I have a love-hate relationship with the Natlan exclusivity design. On one hand, it feels super satisfying to explore within Natlan with Natlan characters, but outside of Natlan, they don't improve much, which is understandable since they would travel-creep everyone else otherwise. In combat though, I don't know about other characters yet, but Mualani performance inside and outside of Natlan varies a lot. In Natlan you have phlogiston to maintain her skill state so you can miss some hits without feeling too bad about it, but outside of Natlan or in abyss, especially with her auto targetting and how clunky/unreliable her burst is, if you miss just one hit it's a massive damage loss. Hopefully future characters can provide something more valuable.
By now, the only teams that guarantee Mualani to vaporize every hit is with Xiangling or Dehya + Anemo. Dendro characters also help by not letting hydro aura remain on the enemy. As it seens, Mavuika probably will solve this problem. We don't have any good off-field pyro enabler for reverse-vape and reverse-melt teams.
Given how hydro traveler has pneuma, spoiler, we've been told we'll get an ancient name forged so it's all but said explicitly Pyro traveler will count as a natlan character for nightsoul blessings and will likely get some cool openworld mechanics.
@@megagamingrayquaza7137considering how hoyo’s keeping it from us until whatever version they give us it in, SURELY it’ll be at least decent. (Clueless)
@@JellifiShugo Just the possibility that they can be a walking artifact set for the new 5.0 support set already makes them decent. Their kit itself could be garbage, but as long as the kit contains Nightsoul Blessing damage in it anywhere, then Pyro Traveler will be decent.
As long as pyro traveller has off field capability then they'll be a great holder for cinder city. About damn time we get another off field pyro option
I feel like the Pyro (Probably full on Natlan) Traveler is gonna be so good tho. Maybe I'm coping, but considering the special character talent materials we get from the story and the 6 obsidians we get from leveling up our reputation with each tribe + (spoilers) the promise Mavuika made to the Traveler and them getting they're own ancient name later... it's a lot. I believe we're getting an actually strong free Natlan unit, the obsidians are the 6 constellations, talent level materials for free, will have a Nightsoul state, etc etc. Natlan Traveler believer since day 1, I'm calling it.
@@JellifiShugo Cornerstone of something something. It's golden, right next to the mats you get from weekly bosses, so they're probably for leveling up talents 7-10 too.
"This is not the right time to activate this" when I click on my water tribe max reputation reward now makes sooo much sense holy hell. Ngl with how the natlan main dpses kits favour an offield pyro application support atm, even with crappy classic traveler dmg numbers, if his/her kit does that and triggers nightsoul support set that alone would make him the best support for both shark girl and the coming ben 10. Atleast intill the pyro archon powercrepts their ass which is fair (traveler kit is always a walmart ver of the archon's) but 2 counterpoints: you gonna need 2 pyro archons anyways for abyss and even threatre so why not run bootleg one. And more importantly, nothing is better value than free (time spent to max reputation not counted because as a 100% exploration player its an inevitably anyways so sry for the bias) Finally MC being the BiS pick for a team like how Harmony MC in HSR is.
@@agiant5715 It even says that held against the starry sky it can illuminate the night. Like c'mon, if that doesn't mean the stars of their constellation then what does? lol
I always get whiplash going from Natlan to another region with Mualani. I keep forgetting that I don't have perma-shark and I end up losing out on a lot of damage. It sucks tbh. I kinda wish I didn't pull for her lol
she has enough uptime outside of natlan lol you need to max stack bite and catch the pufferfish if you cant do that than yeah she isnt going to be great but thats a skill issue
When attacking, you can extend the duration of her skill. I hope they make it less clunky (sometimes when i NA it doesn't auto target the enemy) so that the duration extension can work as intended lol. Also fix the burst auto targetting idk why mualani's talents just love going in random Directions
Im playing the long by pulling her because atm all the 5* natlan dpses need some kind of offield pyro application to work great (her with big scaling + slow attacks preferring vaporize dmg and kinich with him needing burning/burgeon todo maxium dmg). With how no other pyro natlan character teased except for the pyro archon, Im sure the rest of the dps cast would also have kits that buff overload/melt...etc with the pyro archon being the best support for all of them making them go from good but gimmicky feeling teams like atm to the best teams ingame cus powercrept. Atleast thats my copium
Did you only pull her for gameplay reasons? Just curious, because I guess I just don't understand only getting characters that are meta. I have never regretted pulling a character because I pull for characters I like lol
Mind you, the Chain-Breaker's description says a "for every character from Natlan OR who has a different elemental type from the user", so it does work with non Natlan characters as well
I don't really have a problem with it yet, but if you make the assumptions that Natlan teams will do the most damage due to their inherent synergies, which I think is a reasonable prediction; it could be an issue if they increase the difficulty of the abyss to match that level. If top meta teams are only Natlan, it would be annoying to have to pull for them and disappointing in the power creep. Both Mualani and Kinich are very strong C0 with very limited teammates. They have plenty of room for upgrades which could make them top tier (feelscrafting but hey).
my thoughts exactly! Imagine you cant use your favorite character anymore bc of natlan characters making it pointless to have any other region's characters
4:38 - FALSE. Read the description again. You said only Natlan characters can trigger Nightsoul Burst but that's not true. You simply need a Natlan character in the party, and then any character (no matter the region) can trigger the Nightsoul Burst when doing elemental damage.
When your party contains a character from Natlan, when a character deals Elemental DMG to an opponent, a Nightsoul Burst will be triggered. But this is written on the screen too
you confused the phlogiston meter filling up from everflame seeds with phlogiston engravings, and also kachina's passive doesn't require another natlan unit in the party, you only need kachina in the party for anyone to trigger a nightsoul burst in it, mualani is the one with a passive that needs more natlan units
I don't think they're doing anything different than what most gacha games have done. I see it as them pushing to pull new characters for exploration and that's it really. If there were bosses that were immune to damage unless nightsoul is activated then sure we have a problem, but so far nothing too serious. As soon as I return to old areas, the Natlan characters are back on the bench, then I have to take out C1 Yelan, Furina and Kirara again.
Also at 6:23 he also says "The chain breaker bow only works if characters are from Natlan AND a different element from the user, but it only requires that a character be from Natlan OR be a different elemental type. The bow is fine for non-Natlan teams, especially on something like Ganyu melt.
I just wish that some exploration mechanics were made into gadgets, like kinichs grapple and the twirl wurly, like I hope genshin would make a more rudimentary version of the natlan travel mechanics in gadgets because I imagine newer players would find the rest of teyvat more clunky to explore if they get used to phlogiston and other natlan movement mechanics
Genshin has had exploration mechanics as gadgets for a while. Venti's and Khazuha's skills were both turned into gadgets. They are just trying to have a balance between character specific exploration powers as a strength to the character and general use ones that everyone gets. The other maps also weren't designed with Natlan movement mechanics in mind which is why outside of Natlan the characters mobility effects have to be nerfed.
Rather than gadgets, I'd like it if they outright just tweaked the way swimming and climbing works universally. Swimming and climbing are just too slow right now. Potential changes: They could make climbing like the dendro saurian where starting the initial climb lets you run on the wall (or climb really fast) for the first 3 seconds before going into regular climbing mode, and holding the shift bar rather than pressing it will let you do a really big jump to go much higher. Once you reach right at the edge of a surface like one of those Mondsdadt mountains while climbing, your character will automatically push themselves up to the top without using stamina As for swimming, give it a separate stamina bar like in Fontaine and make it similar to Natlan's saurian swimming where you can do a mini dive while swimming fast to push yourself forward. Another example is like Fortnite's swimming mechanic. Makes it more fluid and satisfying
@@toxicfx_nuhaad9175100 percent agree on the swimming stamina. I have accidentally drowned my characters way too many times as I forgotten I have used it all up by sprinting
@@toxicfx_nuhaad9175 TLDR: Movement isn't the part that's supposed to be satisfying its the navigation that's supposed to be fun. Swimming and climbing were meant to be slow because walls and water were obstacles to be navigated around. Originally the idea behind swimming and climbing is that they are options to use is small amounts but shouldn't be the main source of getting around. Like you could climb up a wall or swim across a lake but finding another way up or freezing the water to walk across would be faster which is what you were encouraged to do. This was the main design philosophy in Liyue and Mondstat. In Inazuma they introduced various ways to get around the islands environment like the zap teleport thingies. In Sumeru they experiments a lot with caves and more verticality without clear paths, instead giving us the grapple points to traverse with instead. In Fontain they put a high emphasis on underwater elements and so they made swimming, or at least diving a good and fluid mechanic. In Natlan various forms of movement are expected and they give you the tools in that region in the form of the saurians to travel in that way when needed. Exploration and travel itself is meant to be a puzzle that changes per region, the exact opposite of a game like Wuwa where its just a means of getting around so there is little restriction around your movement. In Wuwa travelling around is meant to be satisfying, in Genshin navigating the various obstacles successfully is meant to satisfying. Making the movement flat out easier and open would make it more satisfying but removes the need for navigation.
@@mozzy2968 Totally agree, tbh I find it kinda wild how little to no one in these comparaisons between GI and Wuwa mentions this. The exploration in both of these has different means and goals. In GI the world is huge but they don't want you to blitz trough it instanly and given the vibe with the landscapes and the music it makes sense. While in wuwa I (again, I) feel like that's no their goal and instead it's just a mean to farm echoes. And to make an already tedious farm more trivial they had to built in these exploration tools. In GI they also sell it via the shiny features in newer characters. Some would say they lock qol but like since Inazuma they found a balance between giving us tools and having others locked on chars (and now I would say it's perfected since Natlan). Like even if Wuwa did this were a char can grapple hook 4 times in a row I would be fine by it because we already have a downgraded version of that. That way the people pulling are more happy and have a bonus reward when acquiring chars and others are still fine. (Also ppl forgetting 9/10 chars since Fontaine have exploration utility)
I wouldnt necessarily call this region locking, since your older teams still work just fine. They still do what they had to just fine. Its mostly world exploration, but even then. You can still fly around with wanderer or run with yelan, its just that mualani surfs better. In terms of the artifact set being busted on natlan chars, remember when marachussea hunter came out, that also was a fontainian exclusive artifact set (aside from xiao who also had built in life drain in his kit). Then furina came out and now everyone can use it since furina made the set viable on chars that dont have life drain themselves. Maybe mavuika will be a similar deal, where she will grant nightsoul points to your active character for buffs or something.
This is kinda what I've been wanting for genshin for a while. I loved the idea of getting specific synergy bonuses for playing certain characters together, but they never really went down this design path. Characters should still be fully functional solo, but they should get that little bit of extra spice when paired up properly. I think the nightsoul burst is a good idea on paper. You only need 1 Natlan character to make it work. It just works BETTER with more. (I do think the new artifact sets though are way over tuned though)
Fontaine system was fine. It was mainly puzzles and like 5 enemies, but for Nathan characters it's 75% of their kit. I've been so discouraged from pulling for them because, from videos/personal experience, they practically only work when in natlan, which is NOT how it should be.
i get what youre saying but these characters are just overpowered in natlan and doing fine in non natlan regions. its bad when youre used to their abilities in natlan but in a mualani team, you do not need her to use her skill for that long as you need your other party members to apply pyro and use their skills aswell. shes just like a hu tao that has a longer skill duration and when its over, you use your other characters until its her turn again and she is one of the best dps rn (if they fix her auto targeting, even better). kinichs only downgrade is that he can use his grappling hook just once outside of natlan instead of twice but is is still way more useful than keeqing and can compete with wanderer since his grappling is way faster and you can use it mid air and you wont die from fall damage after using it whereas wanderer can use his skill in small caves without accidently jumping on the wall if you dont aim right. i got lucky with mualani and kinich and in natlan its cool to have them but using the saurians is just fine tbh. id rather use the kachina saurier than kachina herself as shes too slow to be of much value in my standard exploration team and i dont want and need to bring her out when theres a saurier nearby everywhere
As a mostly f2p player... If using Natlan characters is only useful if you pick multiple and don't synergize with the rest of my roster, might as well ignore them all.
I see no point to using Natlan characters beyond Natlan. I have a full roster that can actually be used to its full capabilities in all of the game. I don't like the idea of locking the power of my characters to a region.
Both the information about nightsoul burst and the natlan bow are wrong. Nightsoul burst can be activated by anybody as long as there is a natlan character in the team, though more characters from Natlan reduce the cooldown of burst therefore improving the set. The bow mentions either from Natlan or uses a different element from the equipping character, making it effective for characters like Ganyu in her melt/burnmelt teams (becuase she is the only cryo in these teams unless you are using diona or layla as shielders).
I actually like a bit more restrictive characters like Nilou. I was actually hoping that Emilie would've been locked to Dendro and Pyro while providing an alternative burning reaction mechanic. I was thinking of a mechanic where the heat (and therefore damage) would get higher with multiple burning enemies closer together. I'm also hoping for a Cryo character which is restricted to Cryo and Hydro or maybe just Cryo while transforming freeze reactions. Maybe a mono Cryo deep-freeze team would be cool. Geo also is pretty neglected, so they can add a character which transforms Geo reactions. I think Genshin would benefit more from those kinds of characters than region exclusive metas
True Nilou completely changing a reaction made me hope that they will release a character that favours underrated reactions (Crystalize , Overload , Freeze heck even allow CryoxDendro reactions ) brings out a fresh new perspective on reactions
@@VishyVashy-w9q I think a CryoxDendro "reaction" already exists in the so-called "Fridge" teams where you keep a Dendro and Cryo auras, and proc a reaction with Hydro that both freezes the target and leaves two bloom cores. One niche, subpar team that uses this gimmick is Ayaka "Fridge", where you use Nahida's E to tag everyone, then someone whom can trigger Cryo really fast and wants frozen enemies like Ayaka, and a reliable Hydro driver like Kokomi, then keep using Ayaka's CA which both gets benefit from Frozen enemies and procs Nahida's E and since enemies are frozen, it stops them from fleeing the bloom cores, as long there's an off-field, AoE hydro applier like Kokomi's Jellyfish. If you timing it right, you can consistently freeze and proc blooms, as long you avoid doing it while the Hydro proc is happening, which is easier with Kokomi's Jellyfish. It's very gimmicky and only really viable with Ayaka, Kokomi and Nahida( Because it needs reliable off-field dendro application, and right timing so Hydro both procs blooms and Freeze, and someone whom wants to use freeze reactions and can trigger the dendro proc. Only these 3 can do all that), and there's no real incentive to use them on this team, unless if they made some Shenhe alternative to buff this very specific gimmick, maybe a Hydro buffer that buffs both Bloom and Freeze, but not amplifying reactions like Melt or Vape. That means, if there was a niche CryoxDendro "reaction" buffer to make this gimmick into an actual mechanic, I believe we either would need a very reliable, predictable hydro driver that ain't good anywhere else, like a weaker Kokomi's Jellyfish, but with a great range and scaling with EM to get the ownership of the cores, or someone that could make Frozen characters more vulnerable against Bloom reactions, or someone as reliable as Nahida in applying off-field dendro alongside Cryo.
Geo is neglected? Not long ago, Hoyo released Navia, which devalued Itto. Then Chiori came out, which devalued Albedo. And in 5.1, another broken Geo support for Navia comes out. You know what is really neglected in this game? Cryo, damn it. Not a single new character except Wrio, who was brazenly and unfairly locked in the basement with Shenhe, Ganyu and Eula, no change to cryo reactions (they are the same trash). 4* cryo characters are just a joke and a disgrace.
@@chainsow47 Reading this definitely made me think…. Cryo went from one of the games most OP Elements to a down right underrated. Especially the “Physical” Unit which is like 4 characters (Razor , Rosaria , Eula and Shenhe)
@@Bronze_Age_Sea_Person Eventho I find the “Fridge” team a quiet … creative team made by the community I’m still disappointed that there’s no DendroxCryo team who could capitalise at the Freeze reaction or even physical…
slight spoiler alert: i have this personal theory that, after the main Natlan Archon quests, or aka after the abyss’ threat within the region is diminished to little or none, since the Wyobs’ don’t need to focus their protection exclusively just within the region - then Natlan natives will be freer to traverse other regions, consequently making these “exploration skills” applicable everywhere else. for now, i kinda get why they are containing it for plot reason, but this also could be my own personal copium for it would be cool to eventually use these skills elsewhere in the future
now that i think about it, Inazuma would've been a great place to introduce some level of region locking. they're canonically region locked in game too
Honestly? I think this philosophy of "region specific systems" is a good compromise in order to mitigate power creep. It gives a different answer to the question of "Why should I pull for the new characters when I already have a versatile roster of older ones?" other than just "because they're stronger". It gives the newest characters an edge in their home region without making the older ones irrelevant in combat.
doesn't make much sense to me, you are saying this because natlan just released and you are only looking at it's current situation. what happens 2 years down and newer region is release? in the future, natlan character will be rerun and what purpose does that serve if we already move away natlan? the mechanic solely exist for it's time being and to confused the heck out of the new player. here's my question "Why should I pull for the new characters when I know they will soon become irrelevant?", never forget that this 2D pixel character have a price tag of 100 of dollars.
@@Nelsonnshdx did you forget that you don't actually have to spend any money on this game if you don't want to??? there literally isn't a price tag. not to mention that it seems like Mavuika's thing is going to be making the Phlogiston mechanic available outside of Natlan, which means everything you just said is irrelevant.

Personally like this, but only if the retroactively go back and do similar stuff for past regions, which they probably won't past what already exist. Fontaine has the Arch system, Liyue has Lithic weapons, but I like the idea of combining units for each region giving them a not substantial, but satisfying buff. Maybe in the resonance system, they could add the buffs for using characters from the same region, not only elemental types.
So far the only Natlan character I'm interested in would be Xilonen due to fitting my Neuvillette team. I'm not interested in making a new team, so the region locked thing is definitely holding me back from fishing for a new dps. I just can't be bothered to grind up once again
I think it would have been cool if earlier regions had a gimmick like Fontaine and natlan have but also understand why they don’t I just hope natlan characters don’t become too dependent on each other
I don't mind natlan charactacters wanting other natlan characters for max synergy and best power. I absolutely despise natlan characters playing differently (worse) when outside natlan
That's my main gripe with this system. At least with BoL you could still use it outside of Fontaine. Imagine if you couldn't? That's essentially what we're seeing here with Natlan characters. Everyone feels weaker outside of Natlan.
It would be cool if you later unlock the exploration buff outside Natlan (maybe a reasonable steady recharge on the energy bar) with a key item or some such
natlan chars dont feel region locked, but bonuses towards region it self. the reason it feels better then fontaines is that it has a tangable difference with how teams are made. but its not exclusively limiting them ether. and the new support set, i wonder what kind of teams where sacrificing that 40% crit rate but providing 40% element dmg to the whole team could increase team wide builds. kinich could lose probably about 12% personal DPS, but could give 20%-30% of everyone else. theres a lot of unique factors that arnt exactly hard coded that this kind of video trys to perceive
PYRO TRAVELER ⚠will be the best Natlan pyro support. Just watch. Everyone yapping about Mavuika but she's a red herring and nothing like Nahida and Furina. Not copege 🗣
I really hope Pyro traveler can use nightsoul burst as well and becomes a great buffer or enabler for a nightsoul special mechanic like how Harmony MC enables super break.
Honestly I like that their exploration mechanics are buffed when in natlan, as it makes it closer to the saurian abilities and makes it viable to use them instead of saurians while also not having the broken saurian movement outside of natlan
if i would to guess mavuika nightsoul blessing is to make everywhere count as being in Natlan Ororan seem to be the Nightsoul recharge unit and yeah im getting the vibe Natlan is being treated as liyue 2.0
I have no problem with region specific features, provided that things like Abyss or event game modes keep to the region theming for rounds instead of being random so if we build an ideal team that has enemies that interact with specific mechanics and we build a team around that, they don't just throw enemies at us in the next round that have a completely different region mechanic that you need to interact with to have an optimized rotation. As for the characters themselves, Hoyo definitely is prioritizing fun in their designs which makes pulling them more worth it imo. As the open world just keeps getting bigger and bigger, having the ability to go from point A to B is more important than trying to 36 star a small room where you pump damage into.
With the artifact sets, I think the same could've been said about Marechaussee at the start of Fontaine, so it's too soon to call whether this is a region lock without knowing what the pyro archon will do.
Also noticing that all of the current Natlan characters benefit from having a pyro unit in the party... Mualani vaporize, Kinich burning/burgeon, Xilonen/Kachina rainbow if you wanna count that... Hoping that Pyro Traveler and Mavuika have some awesome off-field pyro capabilities!!!
During an ending patch event of Natlan or even Middle patch they should release a gadget thats like Phlogiston in a bottle than can extend these mechanics outside if you choose to want to do so and maybe the catch being you have to refill it in Natlan and you only get like 2-3 uses per fill
I agree completely with this video as a F2P whose still working his way through fontaine and has only 100%ed region i love experiencing the story and sometimes ill have a specific team of characters themed around the region for flavor but most of the time i have my trusty exploration team. I already get annoyed when I have to put, lets say a geo character on my dedro team in liyue for monuments and puzzles and pidgeon holding me further into having to use even half a team of region exclusives isnt it, it just doesn't sound fun or good from a F2P pov. Also PS: in terms amount of free Natlan characters I think alongside traveler 2 F2P mail or quest characters like Collei, Barbara, Xiangling etc. sounds good and like 1 maybe 2 decently early time exclusive event F2P copies of characters sounds good. Like how during the Arataki Itto event you get Gorou if you participate.
I really think there may be a character that allows philogestin to be used/obtained as part of their kit, allowing natlan characters to be used outside natlan. I'm hoping anyways😅
for nightsoul blessing, you could make an argument but phlogiston bar? yeah not happening. It would allow every Natlan unit to completely travelcreep everyone else by lightyears, and allow them to completely overshadow and trivialize any and all content in the overworld to a concerning degree since everyone can spam their abilities for like half a minute
@@toxicfx_nuhaad9175What if Mavuikas E-skill allows her to have a temporary phlogiston bar ( Just like how Furina can walk on water during her E-skill) Mavuikas kit will prolly revolve around Nightsoul Blessings and Phlogiston use . And looking at Furina ( Pneumia / Ousia ; HP change kit ) perfectly synergies with Fontaine characters AND allows other characters to use that , Mavuika will prolly allow older characters to use Nightsoul and Phlogiston .
@@toxicfx_nuhaad9175And using those facts , we can deduce that Snezshnaya characters will have a unique ability and the Cryo Archon will have a kit that synergies with it .
The pyro archon likely has a mechanic to make natlan-exclusive combat mechanics universal. Just like how furina makes the hp loss/gain mechanic universal
I find it good so far People were complaining that they didn't have enough reasons to pull for new characters and the game felt stale, so this is a positive change of pace. After playing Mualani and seeing Kinich, they are both so fun in gameplay and so unique, and the nightsoul makes Natlan exploration very particular. The detriment in my opinion is small in other regions.
The characters still work outside Natlan so I don’t think it’s a issue they might even add away to use nite sole outside Natlan at some point probably after the natlan story is finished like maybe the archon might give us the ability to use it in other regions
what i have noticed is that natlan enemies seem to be more robust as well compared to other regions, and I dont mean in a progression way. It felt like a leap in difficulty. My team which has carried me through every other region suddenly was needing to be healed very frequently, and elemental damage felt miniscule compared to other regions. In this way, while yes it is a bit underhanded, It makes sense to push strong natlan only characters specifically built to deal with those enemies. Debuffing them outside of natlan protects the usability of other characters who work in every other region. Is it a money gimmick? Yes, but at least they are not making every other character garbage because natlan characters are just built different. Seriously it makes me mad people want the buff to extend to other regions, like do you NOT CARE what it will do to the usability of EVERY OTHER CHARACTER IN THE GAME!
I've been passively playing after Fontaine main story till before Natlan. And now that I actually pay attention again,... YEA I got bullied a lot in Natlan, daym..
So far I don't use Natlan based characters and have done most of the current content. I have gotten stuck a few times; but that is more of an old person's skill issue than the non-Natlan characters issue. I just slam my way through. I really only can't do the night kingdom stuff; but my son has done most of his without any Natlan characters so they aren't necessary to complete the content(has used teams with and without Natlan characters). They just make things easier(?). He is most sad about the fact that Mualani just doesn't work well in other places. He actually regrets pulling her for that reason. I have put Kinich, Xilonen, Ororon, and Mavuika on my "will consider in the future" list. It does depend heavily on play style and what weapons they use. I have saved for Shenhe and now have almost enough extra to go hard pity twice, so I will just have to wait and see.
My main problem is that by the time they release more Natlan characters I will already be finished exploring it and 5.0 is the biggest exploration update we will get for this zone.
That's why the travel powercreep will have to occur at some time, maybe with Mavuika allowing Phlogiston bar outside Natlan, so every other region can be explored with these chars, as long you have Mavuika, or maybe Pyro Traveler too. Also, the powercreep thing is a bit overrated. As long the Phlogiston bar isn't as big as in Natlan, characters like Furina or Wanderer or Xianyun will be better explorers than Mualani or Chasca.
There are other similar things outside of nightsoul. Yelan has a passive that gives you more hp the more elements you have, yet people use her along xingqiu, heck in mono hydro. Furina wants to suck hp continuously so you want a healer beside her, but people sometimes choose not to have one. These are things that yes technically people could stick to but clearly they don't, cause they don't care. The mechanic is there but that doesn't mean that a character is remotely unplayable, in fact it's probably still great without it.
Tbf, I don't think it's that bad (at least not yet) Take Kinich for example, he wants pyro and while his teams are clearly incomplete (with a Pyro sub DPS being expected to complete it, enabling more Nightsoul Burst procs as well as the Scroll set giving him the DMG bonus), his other slots will still probably be composed of non Natlan characters like Emilie and Bennet.
the thing thats most interesting is in fontaine and no natlan theyve introduced artifact powercreep, though the artis are becoming more and more specific to only the units in the region. few supports will be able to compete with natlan supports with natlan arts, and few dpss wil be able to compete with natlan dps's with the natlan set. I expect the same to be true of snez. that's the real region specific creep I'm most interested in seeing how far it goes.
I think its fine. just the fact every character is getting movement skills is nice compared to previously being locked to a handful of characters. As for the passive I also think its fine, we have so many characters at this point powercreep/overlap is inevitable. I think the nightsoul burst mechanic can just be a way to make a character feel more usable with certain characters. right now they certainly aren't kit defining or broken. I kind of like the idea of having a bonus for playing characters that are connected lore wise. I just hope it doesn't ever feel mandatory, as it is now I like it.
I don't really find this to be region locking. Natlan characters have an artifact set catered to them but so do a lot of individual characters. I don't mind exploration power creep because it's not a deal breaker for most people and just acts as a nice bonus for recent characters in the current region that makes them marginally more attractive pulls.
Yeah, the BoL set only work in Clorinde and Arlecchino, and Nighsoul Blessing is a mechanic like any other, if they decide to not release more characters with BoL, the BoL set would be as restrictive as the Natlan sets. Its not like they stop launching characters of an region after its end, until today we have new Liyue units.
The only issue I have is that these units lose a lot of their power/capability outside of Natlan, to the point that I'd rather use my other characters. The upside about BoL is that it can be used anywhere, not just in Fontaine...
@@metcas but that's not even true. The entire character's kit is functional and accounted for, they just extra perks in natlan. Kinich's grapple is still amazing for exploration. It doesn't stop being good in other regions just because you can use it more in Natlan only. I find the whole thing silly.
I really hate the new Natlan artifacts. It's not like the Golden Troupe (which was useful for tons of older characters) or Mariachi Hunter, which you could enable with some cleaver team building and later with Furina. And the bonuses are incredibly boring, since the condition is just "be a Natlan character". There's no nuance, It's just "buy the new characters".
Here's hoping Fire MC functions as a bridge between Natlan and non-Natlan characters while counting as one himself (he can manipulate phlogiston come on)
Kinda wish after 5.1 or 5.2 quest end where after the traveler gain Pyro element the Nightsoul stuff got buff due to lore so the traveler can bring it everywhere and so it will be given to every character outside of Natlan and increase your playable characters mobility in the overworld like running speed and give everyone a secondary stamina bar.
Honestly, Xilonen and Mavuika are the only Natlan characters i want tbh,so this probably won't affect me much once we inevitably leave Natlan next year for the next region (can't spell its name lol).
Not to mention one of Natlan enemies the Hunter-Seeker requires Natlan characters to debuff it and defeat it quickly compare to other foreign characters. Similar but not the same to Fontaine, the Arkhe system doesn't give a huge impact on foreign characters.
watch as they made Mavuika bless the entire party with Nightsoul so now any character can use the new OP toys, the same way Furina can enable any DPS to use the Hunter set
I wish but nighsoul feels like how I was coping that Sigewinne would give the rest of the team bond of life so that someone else can use arlecchino's sig or actually having a way to buff that red bar.
I was going to make a comment about how much false information there is in this video compared to usual, but RUclips shadow-deleted it. Thanks, RUclips.
maybe because a handful of people are writing the exact same and youtube thinks it's spam now. Vars even acknowledged and hearted (for everyone to see immediatly), what i guess is, the first one to comment his mistake
You can definitely use Natlan characters to support non-Natlan characters and vice versa. For example, Kachina is great with Navia, Nuevi, Arle, etc. with the new set, both Mualani and Kinich really want Emilie in their team, etc. I do think that most Natlan teams will eventually have Mavuika in them but I don't see that as being much different than Fontaine characters having synergy with Furina.
Maybe we just in a really early stage now. Just like when Nilou became playable. She was restricted to just dendro and hydro partys. When the three only dendro unit was the travaller (who is awesome these days too), collei and thignari but, he was not too good at bloom teams. Whe had more hyrdo characters so that was not a big problem. Except for one, the nilou bloom teams must have a healer cuz the self damage was high and that time we didn't had any shielder of these elements. So if u wanted a healer u only had 2 options: Barbara or Kokomi. Everyone sayd she is bad but maybe she will be better in the future. And she is, but with just in bloom teams with the best and universal element. So in my opinion, this case will be better too. I really hope the developers see this too, so they had a solution. But.... I really hoped Sigewinne will be a must pull or at lest a good character with the natlan characters, but its not the case as I see this time or the near future. As I see she boost off field elemental skills and had healing bonus in bond of life teams. I farming that artifacts set like crazy but now nobody could use it to me now. And Sigewinne still a bad five star. But if natlan units not will be good to her then maybe in shneznaya she will be the best healer. I am not too optimistic though...
I lean towards its worst as its genshin's alternative version of power creep have to get you to farm/wish/use other characters after all. Imagine they just decide to make something that is exclusively only for one character whether artifact or some overly busted weapon or mechanic. Yadda yadda yadda give them inch they take a mile or something
Looking at Fontaine with their Arkhé system and HP based game style , Natlan with their Nightsoulblessing and Phlogiston use , I think that Snezshnaya characters will also have an “unique” ability , one for exploration the other for battle . And if we look at Furina applying the Fontainian character unique abilities to every other character We can deduce that Mavuika will have a similar ability and so will the Tsaristsa
Honestly, I only plan on pulling for Iansan, Capitano(if he’s playable in 5.x), and maybe the archon, but knowing that any character I might get is going to be really good, but then on the same power level as everyone else I have in a year, has put a real dampener on my excitement for new characters
I mean like, charlotte passive is a thing. 2 in 1 passive depends whether her teammate is fontainian or not. So they can give that. Theres technically plenty of ways thats already coded in the game to avoid natlan exclusive issue.
@@gachagaming495 I think it's actually unfair to the Natlan characters. Using them outside Natlan feels like a chore when I could just use any of my other characters who are at 100% despite what region I'm in.
lore wise natlan characters aren't supposed to leave Natlan cuz they lose their powers from the Primordial Flame 😂 so i guess they did that to the meta
Something I don’t understand (and maybe someone can explain it to me please) is this concept that “oh I’m forced to use them in this party to get full power”. Hasn’t that always been the case? We have Kazuha nahida and shenhe being essentially must haves in their niches. There’s a lot more and even some four star c6’s so what is new about this? Also the fact that kachina is frankly useless BESIDES enabling the artifact set id say they’ve balanced it decently for now atleast (hope it stays that way but we’ll see)
All I know is if this region locking thing happens in HSR I will quit on the spot, its already discouraging to pull new characters with how long they take to build, imagine being forced to pull and build 3 at once, hell nah
I gotta say as a day 1 Player iam very conflicted about this. I usually safe way in advance for the archons usually enough for c2r1 but even tho mavuika is one of my favorite designs to date i cant help but worry that she wont be as widely applicable as former archons because of this recent trend.
hey vars II, i have an interesting idea: personally i think the 'region locking' of natlan characters with the nightsoul system and the artifact system catering towards only natlan characters so much will be the one and only time genshin decides to do so because the nation is secluded by lore, fighting the abyss alone without reaching out other nations? - or its just a money printing technique
From your video, I’m in a similar area where it depends on how restrictive they make the exclusive Natlan buffs. For example, I really like Navia. I came into the game to get her, and when she becomes too functionally unusable, I’ll head out. I can buff her with folks from Natlan (Kachina and looking like Mauvika). That is great and I support this because it keeps Navia relevant. If it becomes I need to replace her with Natlan folks to enjoy the content, then I would choose to play something else.
Genshin player trying hard to defend Hoyoverse's anti-consumer practice. There is only one reason they added it, to increase sales. Recommendation from an old first-year player, pull only archons and ignore anyone else.
This reminds me of part 2 in HI3. Same thing where the region locked the meta. However Hoyo is now updating older(ish) characters to be able to be counted in this region locked meta. Hopefully Genshin can figure something out too
I think, it's a pretty good mechanic, if this effect where to be available everywhere it'd be insane, considering all the skills that are buffed within natlan are combat related
I think they should make units to have synergy with older supports and newer supports as well. Maybe have a new artifact similar to nobless in natlan which also give nightsoul blessing to non natland characters to help them with newer units.
This is fine. People would bitch and complain if they were OP across the board. They would also go “Lmao, i don’t need it, I can just clear with Hu tao vape team anyways” So incentivizing trying something new rather than sticking with the same thing for 1-4yrs and complaining about how stale something is, they are giving a reason for why. Whether its exploration, combat, personality, or aesthetics. While leaving the door open for Shneznaya. Edit - new players get a whole new region, a whole new cast. They don’t even have all the characters so why care that there are more they don’t have, more teams they don’t have the core for when many teams they don’t in the first place? If they want they can build the Natlan units, if not, pull on the other banner. Its a non issue. They have plenty of content to enjoy.
For someone who play Natlan chars themselves, I also feel a bit uncomfortable by this though. The characters are strong enough, but stronger in Natlan (mechanic wise for me). Like, why do they have to lock half of the exploration ability power for only in Natlan? It's underwhelming outside Natlan.. (Unless they'll change that in later story)
Rather Timely! I just had a conversation on the Keqiuenmain discord server yesterday about this exact issue, and how if this is the direction what future regions will look like? Are they intentionally keeping Cryo weak right now order to make Schneznaya characters have some sort of “Ultra-Freeze” region specific mechanic etc.
They keep cryo weak because they are incompetent. I don't believe in the genius of the developers who are preparing some kind of "surprise" that most people here are sure of. It doesn't matter what they are planning. People want to play cryo now, people want to get Shen He now, and not in another 2 years. Otherwise, it's just unfair. Why is some pathetic dendro OP, but cryo is not? Despite the fact that cryo has existed since the beginning of the game, and dendro came only in 3.0. So they had enough brains to break dendro, which they came up with from scratch, but they couldn't come up with anything with cryo in 4 years? This is complete nonsense. Hoyo is staffed by incompetent idiots obsessed with money and powercreeps, they do not know how to build a balance (the presence of brainless and unfairly broken Neuvillette and Nilou only proves this).
Let’s face it, you can ignore the entire Natlantians and coast through the archon quest since you’re leveled characters will suffice. But if you pull for a character, you’d better get a team, enhanced by artefacts, so they perform optimally outside of Natlan. I’m just waiting for Monsieur Rizzly tbh
My theory is that mauvika is going to be able to give/share her nightsoul state with other party members, which will let other characters use the artifact sets. Like furina’s hp drain letting others use marchese hunter.
For exploration, they gave the Pokémon abilities to be used if you don’t have the characters. Think it’s a good balance of fomo and still providing the player with an alternative that’s still fun
Two very important corrections that I messed up on (Ty to comments for bringing it up):
- Nightsoul burst can be triggered so long as a Natlan character is in the party.
Good job correcting your mistakes
Appreciate the correction

i hope the pyro archon can enable the region gimmick, just like furina did for the maerchausse hunter. Because now, it doesn't give any incentive to pull the first natlan characters.
with their reliance on Pyro, they’ll probably be just as elevated as Neuvillette and Wriothesley back in the day with Mavuika’s release
It was already leaked that Mavuika's passive will enable the Phlogiston gauge outside of Natlan. She will be a must pull.
Honestly, lore wise it does make sense since the Natlanians are pretty much bound to their lands, so it would make sense that there was some kind of different evolution of their powers
Yeah I was thinking about that. But then again, balancing decisions made around the lore have seldom given us the best result lol
Too bad this is totally gonna be instantly defeated when they have the Pyro archon (and maybe even the pyro traveler) get the ability to just NEGATE the Nathlan exclusivity by whenever they use an elemental skill, burst or `run enough` on the field just like the current nathlan characters do to extend the gauge, except its gonna be significantly higher more then likely with the pyro archon`s version likely 1.5 or even doubling the length of the exploration mode and night spirit buff lengths i bet and the pyro traveler if they go that route, getting a gimped version of that same gimmick like they have done always for all versions of the elemental traveler, even if its fontaine they specifically started adding additional random gimmicks that has effectively next to nothing todo with the element itself.
that makes so much sense
create the problem, sell the solution
@@TsukatsukiRio Worst part is selling the solution (which a lot of times are just quality of life improvements) in the form of characters. and apparantly only the on fielders will care to have more than one nightsoul burst stack, kachina and (LEAK AHEAD xilonen dont really care for having 2 or 3 nightsoul burst stacks)
I think this misconception is another problem with hoyo not clearly explaining their mechanics, its a really bad problem they have where they don't explain mechanics in an easy to understand way, we didn't get a grip on capturing radiance until like recently
wait, so we can use the natlan 40% crit rate artifact to non-natlan char, as long as at least there is 1 natlan character in the party that does off field elemental damage?
if that's true, hoyo need to change the description asap.
last thing i'd want is have to pull an entire new team just for one unit i like. my collection of characters is already good enough! i won't pull for natlan characters if they're leagues better with other natlan characters than with the units i've invested so much time and resources into
i mean, it is just that for a Natlan dps that uses the new set, you’d want a Natlan support to use the other set.. not THAT much of a sacrifice. besides, pulling for Mavuika seems like a good idea anyway, so it’s not like you’re wasting your pulls
I crystallize Hydro at the start and boom, tons of extra damage for 15 seconds (Pyro crystals buff the Pyro applicators too over time)

my initial thought is that id much rather have this form of feature-creep than blatant power-creep; its not just "X is better than Y" its "X is better than Y under specific circumstances"; in other words, a niche (even if somewhat arbitrary)
after the videos thoughts: with the saurians existing i dont think exploration is going to be making the game uncomfortable to play without natlan characters (at least it hasnt for me (if anything, whenever i use kachina in place of a tepetlisaur i feel like i wouldve been better off using a tepetlisaur)), and as of right now natlan-specific niches dont seem to be anything too crazy although with just 3 characters to be looking at its a bit early to say concretely (really 4 characters with all these leaky pipes)
Yes lol, i actually felt like they did a good job with the features, not feature creeping the older characters. Vars also missed the part that nightsoul burst can be triggered by non-natlan characters.

Yess, and if there are more Natlan characters, the CD is lowered.
When your party contains a character from Natlan, when a character deals Elemental DMG to an opponent, a Nightsoul Burst will be triggered.
But this is written on the screen too
@@Brddvd Yeah, that's exactly what the OP said.
Yessss pls correct that mylad Vars cuz i like your videos very informative, it's only natural to make mistakes sometimes🥲
you confused the phlogiston meter filling up from everflame seeds with phlogiston engravings, and also kachina's passive doesn't require another natlan unit in the party, you only need kachina in the party for anyone to trigger a nightsoul burst in it, mualani is the one with a passive that needs more natlan units
4:36 Nightsoul Burst can be triggered by anyone, even if they're not from Natlan. The team just needs at least 1 Natlanian for it to be triggered.
Also at 6:23 he also says "The chain breaker bow only works if characters are from Natlan AND a different element from the user, but it only requires that a character be from Natlan OR be a different elemental type.
The bow is fine for non-Natlan teams, especially on something like Ganyu melt.
is it Natlanian or Natlanese?
@@longrifle2955Natlanianese
Potential changes:
They could make climbing like the dendro saurian where starting the initial climb lets you run on the wall (or climb really fast) for the first 3 seconds before going into regular climbing mode, and holding the shift bar rather than pressing it will let you do a really big jump to go much higher. Once you reach right at the edge of a surface like one of those Mondsdadt mountains while climbing, your character will automatically push themselves up to the top without using stamina
As for swimming, give it a separate stamina bar like in Fontaine and make it similar to Natlan's saurian swimming where you can do a mini dive while swimming fast to push yourself forward. Another example is like Fortnite's swimming mechanic. Makes it more fluid and satisfying
@@toxicfx_nuhaad9175100 percent agree on the swimming stamina. I have accidentally drowned my characters way too many times as I forgotten I have used it all up by sprinting
@@toxicfx_nuhaad9175
TLDR: Movement isn't the part that's supposed to be satisfying its the navigation that's supposed to be fun.
Maybe mavuika will be a similar deal, where she will grant nightsoul points to your active character for buffs or something.
exactly, region locking is a bit of an over exaggeration
They don't. The artifact set only needs one natlan unit to activate.
@@Bronze_Age_Sea_Person Eventho I find the “Fridge” team a quiet … creative team made by the community I’m still disappointed that there’s no DendroxCryo team who could capitalise at the Freeze reaction or even physical…

slight spoiler alert:
i have this personal theory that, after the main Natlan Archon quests, or aka after the abyss’ threat within the region is diminished to little or none, since the Wyobs’ don’t need to focus their protection exclusively just within the region - then Natlan natives will be freer to traverse other regions, consequently making these “exploration skills” applicable everywhere else. for now, i kinda get why they are containing it for plot reason, but this also could be my own personal copium for it would be cool to eventually use these skills elsewhere in the future
but dont those exploration skills only have a longer duration because of the phlogiston? this doesnt exist in any other region
now that i think about it, Inazuma would've been a great place to introduce some level of region locking. they're canonically region locked in game too

@Nelsonnshdx bruh why are you so rude about it?
Imagine if they make the pyro archon be able to gift nightsoul to other characters to relieve region locking that would be so funny.
Phlogiston exploration and nightsoul buff is an exchange for jank and clunkiness of their kit
7:49 "get down Mr. President" ahh moment
Neuvillette be like :Look what they need to mimic a fraction of my power
If pyro traveller isnt a dps I WILL RIOT
I really hope Pyro traveler can use nightsoul burst as well and becomes a great buffer or enabler for a nightsoul special mechanic like how Harmony MC enables super break.
Honestly I like that their exploration mechanics are buffed when in natlan, as it makes it closer to the saurian abilities and makes it viable to use them instead of saurians while also not having the broken saurian movement outside of natlan
I think Mavuika might fix that problem.
Don't think it's much of a fix if it's locked behind yet another limited character.
It needs to be Pyro Traveller.
@@Remls maybe both bit Mavuika will definitely have it due to being an archon.
if i would to guess
mavuika nightsoul blessing is to make everywhere count as being in Natlan
Ororan seem to be the Nightsoul recharge unit
and yeah im getting the vibe Natlan is being treated as liyue 2.0
Most likely Mavuika.
for nightsoul blessing, you could make an argument but phlogiston bar? yeah not happening. It would allow every Natlan unit to completely travelcreep everyone else by lightyears, and allow them to completely overshadow and trivialize any and all content in the overworld to a concerning degree since everyone can spam their abilities for like half a minute
@toxicfx_nuhaad9175 fair point. Unfortunately that makes most of the natlan cast easy skips :)
@@toxicfx_nuhaad9175What if Mavuikas E-skill allows her to have a temporary phlogiston bar ( Just like how Furina can walk on water during her E-skill) Mavuikas kit will prolly revolve around Nightsoul Blessings and Phlogiston use .

i would 100% want more niches and playstyles instead of straight up powercreeps (except monsieur Neuvillette, we love our otter grandpa)
The pyro archon likely has a mechanic to make natlan-exclusive combat mechanics universal. Just like how furina makes the hp loss/gain mechanic universal
i prefer them doing that over any new character being just inferior to kazuha neuvillette nahida bennett and xiangling...
I find it good so far
People were complaining that they didn't have enough reasons to pull for new characters and the game felt stale, so this is a positive change of pace.
In Natlan, No one fights alone! -Natlanians
what i have noticed is that natlan enemies seem to be more robust as well compared to other regions, and I dont mean in a progression way.
My guess is that the pyro archon will somehow enable non-Natlan characters to use nightsoul. Although that may just be wishful thinking.
That's my issue as well. I haven't been exploring Natlan too much because i skipped mualani for kinich.
Maybe they could come up with a mechanism or equipment that allow any character to utilize Nightsoul Blessing
If I remember correctly there is a weapon from fountain that can make every sword user use that mechanic
Here's hoping Fire MC functions as a bridge between Natlan and non-Natlan characters while counting as one himself (he can manipulate phlogiston come on)
The fact that he put Citlali while her gameplay hasn’t even been revealed yet
Kinda wish after 5.1 or 5.2 quest end where after the traveler gain Pyro element the Nightsoul stuff got buff due to lore so the traveler can bring it everywhere and so it will be given to every character outside of Natlan and increase your playable characters mobility in the overworld like running speed and give everyone a secondary stamina bar.
This. It'll be helpful and everyone can use, because they are free character
Honestly, Xilonen and Mavuika are the only Natlan characters i want tbh,so this probably won't affect me much once we inevitably leave Natlan next year for the next region (can't spell its name lol).
If the other Natlan characters have this region lock mechanic, I will gladly skip them.
I think this is highly likely to be the case , can’t wait to see Snezshnaya characters unique skill
And if we look at Furina applying the Fontainian character unique abilities to every other character
We can deduce that Mavuika will have a similar ability and so will the Tsaristsa
Honestly, I only plan on pulling for Iansan, Capitano(if he’s playable in 5.x), and maybe the archon, but knowing that any character I might get is going to be really good, but then on the same power level as everyone else I have in a year, has put a real dampener on my excitement for new characters
Video ideas: why nobody plays

I mean like, charlotte passive is a thing.
2 in 1 passive depends whether her teammate is fontainian or not. So they can give that.
Theres technically plenty of ways thats already coded in the game to avoid natlan exclusive issue.
I think its just lazy and super unfair to the other characters
How is it unfair
@@gachagaming495 I think it's actually unfair to the Natlan characters. Using them outside Natlan feels like a chore when I could just use any of my other characters who are at 100% despite what region I'm in.
@@metcas I don’t see how it feels like a chore they still can use there ability’s
lore wise natlan characters aren't supposed to leave Natlan cuz they lose their powers from the Primordial Flame 😂 so i guess they did that to the meta
I usually safe way in advance for the archons usually enough for c2r1 but even tho mavuika is one of my favorite designs to date i cant help but worry that she wont be as widely applicable as former archons because of this recent trend.
hey vars II, i have an interesting idea:
personally i think the 'region locking' of natlan characters with the nightsoul system and the artifact system catering towards only natlan characters so much will be the one and only time genshin decides to do so because the nation is secluded by lore, fighting the abyss alone without reaching out other nations? - or its just a money printing technique
money printing technique, genshin target to stay min 10 year, story continue, banner must sale, for min 10 year,
From your video, I’m in a similar area where it depends on how restrictive they make the exclusive Natlan buffs.
They would also go “Lmao, i don’t need it, I can just clear with Hu tao vape team anyways”
So incentivizing trying something new rather than sticking with the same thing for 1-4yrs and complaining about how stale something is, they are giving a reason for why.
It's spelled Snezhnaya, btw :)
@@catdownthestreet i got 100% of the letters and only 1 out of place, not bad for spelling it wrong.
