Steve, you are killing it! 🫡 I totally love your simplicity in explaining every concept. I also can't help but smile everytime you add those funny video clips (like the martial arts & let's about the money) to further buttress your points. Well done! Thanks for dissection what it takes to be CBAPtised. 🥂
Well done Steve, this is the first video of yours I'm watching and I've got to say that you did a great job explaining the topic. I've just subscribed and look forward to more of your contents. Do you have another video where you talk about what to expect in the exam such as the different types of questions and tips on how to answer them?
Thank you so much, Chinyere. It is much appreciated. We currently do not have the video you requested; however, we will create a video with the requested information to help aspiring CBAP professionals prepare adequately for the certification exam. Thank you for the feedback. 🙏❤
Great question! Your approach will depend on your years of experience and how you can demonstrate this in the CBAP application. You'll need at least 7,500 hours of business analysis experience over the past 10 years, with at least 900 hours in 4 of the 6 BABOK knowledge areas. Additionally, 35 hours of professional development in the past 4 years are required (which you can obtain by registering with an IIBA Endorsed Education Provider like us). When applying, be detailed in linking your experience to BABOK concepts. We guide our students through this process in our IIBA CBAP Certification Course. Hope this helps, and good luck!
hello so i have a question, i am 31 years old and i am looking to transition from mechanical engineering to a Business Analyst will ECBA help me getting the initial transition or how to go about it as i have no relevant experience in BA
Hello Jasper! Great question. Transitioning from mechanical engineering to a Business Analyst role is definitely doable, but since you don’t have BA experience yet, I’d recommend starting with a solid boot camp. A good boot camp can help you build foundational knowledge, get hands-on practical experience, and even work on real-world projects-things employers love to see. The ECBA is a great starting point to show you’re serious about the field and have learned the basics, but on its own, it may not be enough to land your first BA job. Pairing it with practical experience from a boot camp can make a big difference. If you’d like to explore this further, feel free to book a free coaching call with one of our experts via this link: calendly.com/thecareeraccelerators/chat-with-an-expert - I’d be happy to provide some more guidance. You’ve got this! 💪
Yes, you’ll need to pay $139 USD each year (only if you are located in Region 1, for Region 2 it is $89USD and for Region 3 it is $55USD for renewal) to keep your IIBA membership active. Hope that helps! Let me know if you want more info.
Hi Steve. Can i write the CBAP Certification without going through the other certifications. Note that i have 4 years of Experience doing Data Engineering and Analysis
Hello Michael, The simple answer is Yes, you can. Completing the ECBA and CCBA is not a prerequisite for the CBAP Examination. However, your ability to meet the work experience prerequisite for the CBAP examination largely depends on the specific responsibilities you held in previous roles. Many professionals carry out business analysis tasks without holding the specific title of a Business Analyst or even realising that their duties align with those of a Business Analyst. To determine your eligibility, we need to assess whether the tasks you performed and the number of hours you dedicated to each task meet the IIBA's standards for the CBAP exam. Hope this helps. If you would like to have a FREE coaching call for us to quickly discuss and assess your eligibility, then, please use the following link to book : calendly.com/thecareeraccelerators/chat-with-an-expert Good luck 😊
