- Recently, the 1986/1987 anime series "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" was released on Blu-ray. With the improved sound quality of this release, thought I'd edit together the two verses of the theme song of the English release, "Searching for a Dream," for a more complete, higher quality version. Enjoy!

One of my favorite shows of all time. And one of my favorite adaptations of the Wizard of Oz.
This was apparently never released as a single, and didn't turn up on Parachute Club's best of compilation.
A loss
This song randomly popped into my head a few months ago and i couldn't for the life of me remember what it was from. Kept thinking winnie the pooh. Never would have even guessed this. So glad i finally found it

Yes! The lyrics to this song are very special, too, hidden messages just like L. Frank Baum who wrote Oz stories, if you look into his hidden messages about things like our obsession with control, gold ("oz" is ounces, how gold is measured), deception (the Wizard and other 'evil' characters, aren't as powerful when people stick together and work together... many other things like that.

I have a lot of memories of this show, including missing an episode, then coming back the next day to see that the show was starting over from the beginning, meaning the episode I missed was the _final_ one.

@@lynn6760 I still love the movie. Its just this series had such longevity, and felt like it developed the characters more, through all the seasons.
This song is so awesome! Boy, '86 was such a great year! The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is indeed brilliant for both the music and the level accuracy that keep the show, well, truthful to the original stories, which I can truly appreciate!

I remember watching this all the time as a kid before school in the morning. When I was very little, I remember having a crush on the Dorothy in this series. It's amazing how much detail this series put into the existing plot.

I remember the intro song very much and also the Nome King episodes where they had to try and find the prince in the statues and if they didn't pick right they'd turn into statues, something about that episode just stuck with me.

That part 0:53 is so good. I remember watching this when I was around 4, and it's probably my earliest solid music memory.
While my music isn't like this at all, I think that section still had a big impact on my style.
