  • I tested the 'Tiger' golf ball from Bridgestone Golf and thought it was amazing but it made me wonder if there could be an even better ball for me. I went onto their webpage and went through the 3 golf ball fitting options to see which ball would suit me best and I was very surprised.

Been a user of Bridgestone balls, I have found the consistency to be a major plus point .
I have used the B RXS it suits my slower swing speed, stops on the green and feels nice off the putter.
A very underrated brand in my books , try them worth a punt I promise you .

I wish Bridgestone sold a 4 ball test pack so you could try each of them. I am looking forward to giving the BX and BXS a try.

I agree with ball fitting its being massive for me. Before a ball fitting i used ad333 your but with fitting got avx. As my swing has changed pro v1 worked out the best as i needed more spin

I’ve hit all 4 current models now, coming from being a Pro V1 player for years. I’m about 95-100 Mph with driver. My experience is:
Tour BX - quite firm and didn’t perform well for me
Tour BXS - Great feel, lots of spin on Wedges (more than ProV1), came off driver well for me
Tour RX - about as firm as Pro V1, very stable in air, spins less than Pro V1 on short shots a little longer with driver than ProV1
Tour RXS - softer than ProV1 on all clubs, stable in air, spins marginally less than Pro V1 on short shots and about same or a little longer than Pro V1 on all clubs
I have settled on RXS as I need the additional spin on my course as the greens are hard and fast most of the time. What has got me to move from Pro V1 is the Tour RXS does not seem to suffer from the odd instability I have seen over the last few Pro V1 models (ie. every now and then the ball seems to fall out of the air unexpectedly even when I think I have hit it solid).

Never thought about golf ball fitting. Always gone on recommendation from better players. Have used AD333 for years now and do enjoy them. App recommended the E12 ball

Interesting video. Thanks for posting. It was explained to me by someone who uses the Bridgestone ball this way.
Tour B XS is your Prov1 replacement. The Tour B X is your Prov1X replacement as it’s the slightly firmer ball. Or so he says. He gave me both to try out, only difference for me was the X did feel firmer in my opinion. But not in a bad way.

Great review, Ali. I've used Bridgestone's ball-fitting app, but not the one using a video, so it was fascinating seeing numbers gleaned from just a video. From clubs to balls, there's never been a better time for great performing golf equipment.

I play the Tour BXS. I have tested the Tour BX ball to and love it.
They recommended the Tour BXS after I filled in all info. The other one where you fill in all your swing data I got Tour BX recommended to me.

Just played my first round with the B XS today. 300+ yard drives and spun with ease on everything from bunkers, chips, pitches and full iron shots up to a pin high one hop and stop with a 4 hybrid. I'm not an amazing player by any means but you don't have to be Tiger to benefit from playing them.

My swing is not fast, so I'm using the RXS, and love it, great feel especially the off the putter.

I ran a couple scenarios through their tool. I play the Prov1X as well and have similar numbers to you in terms of driver distance and ball flight. The only way I could manipulate the tool to suggest the Bridgeston B XS was to select either a low or medium ball flight. I take it that the ball spins a lot so they do not recommend it for a high ball flight.

I have been using the BX and have tried the BXS when I couldn't get a box of the BX as I find them harder to get from most shops and end up ordering online. Anyway the BX are great and longer for me by a small margin, swing speed of 115 with too much spin. The BXS certainly felt better around the greens on very short shots, about the same with the mid irons and not far behind of the tee.

I've played a couple rounds with the Tour B X now. They are one of the longest balls I've used off the driver, but a bit short off the irons. At least that's what I've been seeing on a course that I have played many times. I'm right on the cusp though at ~105 with the driver. Maybe I should try the RX. For me though, it comes down to what sort of premium ball I can get a deal on. I mean the BX are only $2 less than PV1.

Great video , the only thing I would question here is your spin number with the trackman. You hit that shot very low on the face and to come out with under 2100 rpms is kind of unusual.

Been testing BX and BXS for the past few months and think I'm just about set on BXS. BX is a little longer and spins very well but not quite as well as BXS especially on partial shots. The RXS felt like a marshmallow and the RX spun worse than any premium ball I ever tried. At least for me.

    • @vikrampitre2343
      @vikrampitre2343 4 года назад

Agree the RX / RXS are a let down and should be sold 25% cheaper. TM Tour Response and Q star Tour are far better balls off the tee and near the greens.

I’m a mid hcp and swing 90 mph / 230 yds. I’ve started using all these balls RX RXS BX BXS and must say the BXS gives me 10 yds more distance off the driver and noticeably the BXS has a higher drop and stop off wedges which is more my situation 3rd shot. This is contrary to the wedge tool. BS haven’t clarified wether the short game spin is similar for RXS and BXS ! I would start with wedges and putting rather than driver else buy a Wilson Duo for 1/3rd price.

Excellent video Ali, I’ve recently bought the tiger ball and my driver swing speed is around the 100mph but I’m sure I’ve seen that this ball is for over 105 mph swing speed, how can this be when you might use driver around say 12 times a round and all the other clubs will be nowhere near 105mph.
Having said that the ball performs just as good as the pro v x and better around and on the greens. Just a thought on how do they recommend a ball on driver swing speed.
    Thank you in advance.

Their algorithm isn't all that great ... based on what I've seen, I can change the Current Ball Being Played to something different, with everything else listed the exact same and get a different recommendation ... I tried all sorts of ball selections that I have played from Prov1x, e12 soft, e6 soft, Chrome Soft and even Volvik ... my results ended in recommending either the e12 contact or the Tour B RX, which is a bit odd to me ...

I tried the Bridgestone app, I inputted my numbers etc and it suggested that I take up "Knitting"🤣👴
When the app stopped laughing it came up with either the Tour B RXS or the E12, I can't remember seeing either Ball before but I will keep an eye open for them and give them a try. Or I might save the hassle and just take up knitting instead!

Why are all the golf related channels in the UK?... Now you get this guy from THE UK who can't get his mic squared away. I had to stop about 2 minutes in.
